Chapter Fifty-Eight
💰 Monstrous 💰

"Kira found Brett. They're fine, but we've got to go." Scott said as he walked down stairs where Amara and Liam sat, "More assassins?" Liam asked as he followed behind Scott and Amara.

"Maybe a lot more..." Amara said making Liam raised his eyebrows, "Different than the ones who just tried to set us on fire?" Liam asked as he slowed to a stop. "I think so, yeah..." Scott said before him and Amara stopped when they noticed Liam stopped and set the helmet that Scott gave him down.

"How about one of us takes you home?" Amara asked as they walked back over to Liam and Liam sighed and shook his head, "I'm not like you..." He said and Scott shook his head. "Not yet-" He started to say but Liam cut him off, "I don't mean I'm not strong, or I'm never gonna learn how to be in control- I mean everything else. You and your friends... you try to protect everyone." Liam said.

"Have you been doing this the whole time? I mean, how are you all still alive?" Liam asked making Amara suck in a deep breath and looking at Scott as he glanced at her, "Not all of us are..." Amara said as she looked at Liam.

"Let me at least take you home." Scott said as he handed Liam the helmet and Liam sighed and nodded slightly.

Scott and Amara ran into the animal clinic right as Kira ran into the lobby area and Scott and Kira instantly pulled each other into a kiss while Amara stood back awkwardly. "Is your mom...?" Scott started to ask and Kira nodded, "She's okay. Healing." She said and Scott nodded.

"What about you?" He asked making her look at him confused, "Me?" She asked and he nodded. "Are you okay?" He asked and she smiled softly, "Right now? Very." She said before they kissed again. Amara awkwardly rocked back and forth on her feet. "Did you find him? Did you find Brett?" Amara asked as Scott and Kira pulled away and Kira looked at her and nodded.

"Actually, I think I found all of them..." She trailed off as she led them into the back room of the clinic to see Satomi and her pack standing around.

"Satomi, this is who I was telling you about." Kira said and Satomi turned around and smiled, "I know who Scott McCall and Amara Hale is." She said making Scott look at her both shocked and confused while Amara shrugged slightly.

"Why am I not surprised..."

"Are we safe here?" Brett's sister, Lori asked making Scott look at her before be looked around at all the pack members, some where hurt, some were just scared. "We're gonna need help... a lot of help." Scott said and Amara squinted slightly, "I know were we can go." She said making them look at her.

"Wait! Wait! Brett!" Amara yelled as they all ran forward towards Brett who was growling at Argent, "This is his place- it's his." Scott said and Brett backed down and walked back over to his pack. Argent sighed, lowering his gun as he walked up to Scott and Amara. "If you're bringing guests, you could have called." He said and Scott sighed, "We didn't have anywhere else to take them."

"I know this man... He may not remember, but we've met before." Satomi said, walking up to stand next to Amara, "You can trust him. We trust him." Amara said making Satomi glance at her. "How do we know he's not like the others?" Satomi asked making Argent look at her confused, "What others?" He asked and Kira stepped up.

"Last night. There was a whole team after them, and they used crossbows." Kira said as Kira handed over the arrow she cut in half. "They're Hunters, aren't they?" Scott asked and Argent sighed deeply looking up at him, "Not if they're killing for profit. Not anymore." Argent said. "Can they find us?" Brett asked making everyone look at him, "They might already know you're here. Maybe they're waiting for dark."

"So we're not safe here?"

"We're not safe anywhere. We've been trying to get out for days. Everywhere we turn, we find someone new trying to kill us." Satomi said and Argent looked over at Scott. "If they're coming, Scott, they're coming for you, too. You and Amara are still number one on the Deadpool." Argent said making Amara sighed as she and Scott glanced at each other.

"I know... But I know Lydia can get the answer from Meredith- she just needs more time." Amara said and Argent nodded, "Then that's what she'll get." Argent said and Amara pulled out her phone.

"I'll call us some backup."

"They'll be okay." Scott said as he walked up to Derek, Makena and Amara, "They've got claws and fangs, but they're not fighters." Derek said as they walked over to Braeden and Kira. "That's why we called you." Scott said, "Well, try to remember I don't have claws and fangs anymore, either." Derek said. "And that's why Amara called me." Breaden said, holding a gun.

"Am I the only one still hoping this is all just a false alarm? I mean, it's possible we could wait here all night and nothing happens... Right...?" Kira asked and Makena chuckled and shook her head slightly, "It's good to see someone here still has some optimism."

"Scott, you heard anything from Stiles or Lydia yet?" Breaden asked and Scott sighed, "Lydia's still talking to Meredith. Stiles and Malia are headed to the lake house. They're trying to stop it." He said, "What if there is no stopping it?" Brett said making them all turn to him, "What if it doesn't end until we're all dead?"

"Then let's send a message." Derek said making everyone look at him, "Let's make something perfectly clear to anyone with a copy of that list. It doesn't matter if they're professional assassins, Hunters, or an amateur who just picked up a gun." He said as he picked up his gun. "Anyone who thinks they can hunt and kill us for money is gonna be put on another list- our list. They get to be a name on our on Deadpool." He said and Makena chuckled.

"Since when did he start making speeches?" Makena asked making Amara laugh before Makena wrapped her arm around her daughter's shoulder and pulled her off to the side. "I don't need to tell you to not be an idiot that gets themselves killed, right?" Makena asked and Amara looked at her offended, "After everything we've been through, you think I would just let some armature assassins kill me? Disappointed mother. I'm so disappointed in you." Amara said making Makena chuckle and shake her head.

"Here." Argent said as he walked up ti them, handing Makena a gun making her furrow her brows. "I already have my gun." Makena said as she took the gun, "I know but it doesn't hurt to have two." Argent said and Makena smiled and cocked an eyebrow at him. "Trying to convert me into always carrying two?" Makena asked and Amara squinted at the two of them while Argent chuckled.

"It's always better to safe." Argent said before patting Amara's shoulders and walking away. Amara watched him walk away until she knew he wasnt in hearing distance. "You have a crush on him." Amara said making Makena furrow her brows, "What?" She asked and Amara looked at her.

"You have a crush on Argent." Amara said and Makena shook her head, "I do not have a crush on Argent." Makena said and Amara cocked an eyebrow. "I don't even need a heighten sense of smell to be able to smell the bullshit coming out your mouth." Amara said making her mother give her a look before clearing her throat slightly.

"And what would you say if I do have feelings for him?" Makena asked and Amara shrugged slightly, "I mean, theres no possibility of my girlfriend becoming my step-sister anymore so I don't mind. I'm more wondering what made so many Hales have things for Argents." Amara said and Makena raised her eyebrows.

"Except I never became a Hale." She said and Amara shrugged, "You almost did... And considering I'm here, you've had two Hales inside of you so close enough." Amara said, laughing when Makena lightly smacked the side of her head.

All of a sudden a loud beeping went off making them pull away and glance around. "They're coming." Argent said and suddenly a bunch if smoke grenades flew into the building. "Get back!" Braeden yelled and Makena pulled Amara off to the side as bullets rained through the building.

Amara slowly crept around the wall, keeping low to the ground, away from the bullets. She managed to seek up to one of the assassins, grabbing the barrel of the gun. She kicked his side, ripping the gun from his hands before bashing the butt of it against his head, knocking him out.

A couple guys came up to her pointing their guns at her making her smirk before shooting out to grab the barrel of one of the gun. He struggled against her but she moved to stand behind him, holding the gun against his neck making him try to pull it away. The other hunter aimed his gun at her but she just looked at him with red eyes before his gun started turning a head hot.

He quickly dropped his gun as the other hunter finally passed out making Amara let him go before slamming the butt of the gun against the other man's head. Amara took a deep breath and glanced around until she saw someone pointing their gun at a very scared Lori making her run up and grab Lori while Scott tackled the man. Scott lifted him up to a tabled while Amara pulled Lori behind her, the young girl hiding her face in Amara's back.

Scott slashed his claws over and over on to the man while Amara stared at him in shock. The more he slashed the more his face started to morph into something that reminded her of Peter and Decualion.

"Scott!" She yelled but Scott didn't listen and continued to slash his claws. "Scott!" Amara yelled with more power in her voice making Scott freeze with his hand in the air. He slowly looked over at Amara, realizing what he was doing as his face slowly went back to normal.

Slowly the sounds of gun fire started to stop as phones started buzzing making everyone look around. The men started retreating as Scott grabbed the man's phone out of his pocket, looking down at it. He slowly turned the phone to the man to show a message from the Benefactor.
"ALL CONTRACTS TERMINATED."

Amara sighed in relief before turning to look at Lori, "You alright?" She asked and Lori nodded slightly. "Lori!" Brett yelled, as he turned the corner and breathed a breath of relief when he saw Lori and Amara. He ran over to them as Lori let Amara go and instantly wrapped her arms around her brother. "Thank you." He whispered, looking at Amara who nodded before walking over to Scott.

"I don't know what was happening." Scott said and she nodded slightly, "You were losing control but you got it back so it's fine." She said and he sighed. "I almost killed him." He said and she grabbed his shoulder to make him look at her, "He was about to kill a kid, Scott. It's fine." She said.

"Is it over?" Kira asked as she walked up to them and Amara sighed softly, "In Beacon Hills it's never over."
