Amara's outfit:
Chapter Seventeen
π¦ Venomous π¦
Hurrying down the corridor for their next class, Stiles whispers to Scott and Amara, "I only found one thing online called the Kanima. A werejaguar from South America that goes after murderers." Stiles said and Amara raised her eyebrow, "Yeah... I don't think a giant lizard is a jaguar." She said.
"And I'm not exactly a murderer." Stiles said and Wren nodded, "Yeah, but you did see it kill somebody, which is probably why it tried to kill you. And it's still trying to kill you, and it probably won't stop until you're dead." Scott said making Amara look at him weird while Stiles scoffed.
"You know, sometimes I really begin to question this friendship."
The three if them walk into class, Scott and Stiles sat down next to each other while Amara sat down behind Stiles. Not long after Jackson walked and sat down next to Amara. "Hey, testicle left and right, Human Torch." Jackson whispered to them making Amara shoot him a look.
"What the hell's a Kanima?" Jackson asked making Scott and Stiles spin back to Jackson in panic. But before they can respond Coach slams a book against his desk. "All right, listen up! A quick warning before we begin our review- some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult- I'm not even too sure I could pass it! Okay, I need a volunteer at the board to answer the first question. Who's got it, huh?"
Hands go up around the boys and Wren as they continue their surreptitious conversation. "Paralyzed from the neck down. Do you have any idea what that feels like?" Jackson said and Stiles chuckled dryly, "I'm familiar with the sensation."
"Wait- why would Derek test you? Why would he think that it's you?" Scott asked. "How should I know?" Jackson asked defensively making Amara squint at him, "Yeah, I wonder." She said sarcastically making him glare at her. "Wait, do they think it's Lydia?" Stiles asked and Jackson shrugged, "I don't know! All I heard was her name and something about chemistry."
"Jackson!" Coach suddenly yelled making them jump, "Do you have something you want to share with the rest of the class?" He asked making Jackson have to quickly think of something. "Just an undying admiration for my Coach." Jackson said, "That's really kind of you. Now shut up! Shut it! Anybody else?"
Scott leans in to talk to Amara and Stiles, "How do we know it's not her?" Scott asked. "Because I looked into the eyes of that thing, okay? And what I saw was pure evil. And, when I look into Lydia's eyes, I only see fifty percent evil. All right, maybe sixty. You know, but no more than forty on a good day!' Stiles said making Scott sigh, "Stiles, that's not a very good argument."
"Here's a good argument." Amara said making them look at her, "When the kanima first trapped Stiles and Derek in the pool, I was with Lydia at her car. She can't be two places at once. She's not the Kanima, okay? Lydia's fine." Amara said and then looked up when she heard a bunch of students laughing to see Lydia standing in front of the class, chalk in hand.
"EMPLEHENOEMOS" was written all over the board. "Okay then. Anyone else want to try answering? In English?" Coach said making Lydia spin around to see what she wrote while students continued to laugh, "What is that? Greek?" Scott asked
"Actually... I think it is English." Stiles says as has used his phone to take a picture of the word. He flips the photo horizontally to reveal the message Lydia has written over and over on the board.
"SOMEONEHELPME"

"Hey, Amara?" Lydia asked as they stood in the bathroom fixing Lydia's make up, "Yeah?" Amara asked. "Thanks for helping me." Lydia said making Amara smile at her, "Well, I wouldn't think me yet. I'm not the best at makeup." Amara said and Lydia looked at the mirror and hummed slightly.
"It's not too bad." Lydia said and Amara raised her eyebrows and nodded, "Uh huh, you're just being nice." Amara said. The bell rang and Lydia took a deep breath before turning to Amara with a smile. "Ready to go to class?" She asked and Amara chuckled slightly, "I am if you are." She said. Amara helped her arm out and Lydia wrapped her arm around Amara's before they walked out.
They walked into class and sat down next to each other. A few seconds later Scott and Stiles walked in talking before freezing as they looked at something behind the two girls. Amara noticed and turned around to see Isaac and Erica looking at Lydia with a smirk. Suddenly Scott and Stiles came running over to Amara and Lydia's table, Stiles sat down at the end by Amara while Scott sat at the end by Lydia.
Lydia rolled her eyes at the two boys while Amara pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head. Einstein once said, "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe.' I myself have encountered infinite stupidity." Harris says as he pauses at Stiles's desk for a not-so-subtle punctuation making Amara laugh while Stiles looks offended.
"So, to combat the plague of ignorance in my class, you're going to combine efforts through a round of group experiments! Let's see if two heads are indeed better than one. Or, in Stilinski's case, less than one." Harris said as he patted Stiles shoulder making him frown while Amara laughed.
"Erica, you take the first station. You'll start with-" Every male hand in the class shoots up making Erica look around with a smirk while Amara just dramatically rolled her eyes. "I didn't ask for volunteers. Put your hormonal hands little hands down. Start with Miss. Hale." Harris said making Amara's eyes widen.
Amara and Allison glanced at each other before Amara sighed and got up to sit at the first table with Erica. "Whatever you idiots are thinking about doing? Just wait and let my talk to my cousin." Amara said and Erica turned to her with a smirk, "Why don't you talk to me instead?" She asked and Amara rolled her eyes.
"I'd prefer to talk to someone whose clothes arent cutting off the circulation to their brain." Amara said while pouring a couple vials into a beaker. "That's funny- in school, you guys act like you're not even friends anymore, but she is so into you." Erica said and Amara hummed slightly, "Cool." She said boredly.
"If I were Allison, I'd be wanting you- all the time." Erica said as she put her hand on Amara's thigh making Amara quickly grab it and put it off her. "You're not my type." Amara said and Erica smirked while pulling Amara forward slightly, "I'm exactly your type." Erica said as she flashed her golden yellow eyes and Amara just raised her eyebrows.
"Are you though? Because if you were my type, you'd think I've be more interested in you instead of an Argent." Amara said before the bell dinged. "Switch." Harris said and Amara let go of Erica's wrist before getting up and walking over to another table.
Amara walked over to the table Isaac sat and pushed his shoulder down as he started to stand up. "Oh no, you're not. We need to talk." Amara said before nodding at the other kid at the table and they instantly got up and moved. "Now." Amara said as she sat down and started working on the lab.
"I'm a little pissed off at the fact that Derek didn't tell me a single thing about his plan... So, I'd suggest not pissing me off further." Amara said and Isaac chuckled and raised his eyebrows, "Maybe he's not telling you anything because you're only in the pack for the title." He said and Amara smiled at him and nodded.
"You're right, which means that if you even think about touching a single strand of her hair, I'll turn you into a shish kabob and serve you at her birthday party." Amara said and Isaac raised his eyebrows. "I've never actually been to one of her big, invite-only birthday parties. I did ask her out once, though." Isaac said and Amara hummed boredly, "I wished I cared." She said.
"It was the first day of freshman year-" Isaac started and she cut him off, "Let me guess, she said no." Amara said and Isaac nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, she even laughed. Told me to come back when the bike I rode to school had an engine, not a chain." He said and she hummed, "Maybe you should write about it in English class. Who knows, you could make new york times best sellers." Amara said and Isaac pursed his lips.
"Nah... I was thinking I'd channel it into killing her. I'm not very good at writing." Isaac said and Amara sarcastically gasped slightly, "I just realized why Boyd is my favorite in the pack." Amara said before looking at Isaac. "Because he doesn't come up with cringy, try hard one liners." She said before the bell dinged, "And switch." Harris said and Isaac got up and moved to a different table.
Amara worked with some random other student before the bell dinged again. "Time! If you've catalyzed the reaction correctly, you should now be looking at a crystal. Now, for the part of that last experiment I'm sure you'll all enjoy... You can eat it.." Harris said making Amara look at the beaker to see a crystal
"Lydia!" Scott suddenly yelled making everyone look at him. Amara looked over at Lydia to see her holding up a crystal that had a bit of Kanima venom on it making Wren suck in a deep breath. "What?' Lydia asked and Scott looked around embarrassed, "Nothing."
They all watched as Lydia popped the crystal into her mouth, waiting patiently as nothing happens to her.

Slipping inside Coach's dimly lit office, Scott flips the lock on the door and turns to Stiles, Amara and Allison. "Derek's outside. Waiting for her." Scott said and Allison raised her eyebrows, "You mean waiting to kill her?" Allison asked. "If he thinks she's the Kanima? Then, yeah. Especially after what happened in the pool." Scott said, "But it's not her." Amara says
"She didn't pass the test, Amara. Nothing happened." Scott said and Amara shook her head, "It can't be her. I was talking to her when the Kanima trapped Derek and Stiles in the pool." She said and Allison sighed. "It doesn't matter. Derek thinks it's her. So either we convince him he's wrong or we figure out how to protect her." She said and Amara shook her head slightly, "He won't do anything here, not during school."
"What about after school? What if we can prove Derek's wrong?" Allison asked and Stiles raised his eyebrows, "By three o'clock?" He asked and Allison shrugged slightly. "There could be something in the Bestiary." Allison suggested, "You mean the nine hundred page book written in Archaic Latin that none of us can read? Good luck with that." Stiles said sarcastically making Allison think for a moment.
"Actually, I think I know someone who might be able to translate it."
"Scott and I can talk to Derek. Maybe if I use the family card it'll convince him to give us a chance to prove it's not her." Amara said and Scott nodded. "But if anything happens you guys let me handle it." Scott said making Allison raise her eyebrows, "What does that mean?" She asked.
"It means you can't heal like Amara and I do." Scott said and Allison puts her bag on Coach's desk and unzips it and pulls out a black item with a pistol grip on it. With a snap of her wrist, the sides fly out and lock into place to reveal a collapsible and quite deadly crossbow. "I can protect myself." She said and Amara pursed her lips, "I'm convinced." She said.
Allison smiled at her before Amara and Scott moved to walk out. Before Scott could open the door he spun around, hand whipping up just in time to catch a crossbow dart that would have hit his head. Stiles lowers the crossbow with a guilty smile on his face, "Sensitive trigger on this thing." He said and Allison held her hand out and Stiles instantly handed it back to her.
π¦
Scott and Amara walked towards the lacrosse field looking for Derek. They walked past the bleachers, heading for the middle of the field where Boyd stood.
"We want to talk to Derek." Scott said and Boyd shrugged, "You can talk to me." He said. "I don't want to fight." Scott said and Boyd raised his eyebrows slightly, "Good, 'cause I'm twice the size of you." Boyd said making Scott nod nervously.
"True. Really, really true. But, wanna know what I think? I'm twice as fast." Scott said and then ran at Boyd while Amara just rolled her eyes. Boyd swipes out, but Scott easily dodges the blow. Grabbing onto Boyd's large frame to use it against him, Scott flips up and kicks out sending Boyd's muscular body crashing to the ground.
"She failed the test." Derek said making Amara spin around to look at him, "Yeah, and you're test is bullshit. It doesn't prove anything except that Lydia is just different." Amara said and Derek nodded. "I know! At night, she turns into a homicidal walking snake." Derek said.
"I'm not gonna let you kill her." Scott said and Derek shrugged, "Who said I was gonna do it?" He asked making realization dawning on him, Scott and Amara turns back to the school and the girl he left vulnerable to two other werewolves.
Scott goes to run for the school making Boyd go to stop him but Amara quickly moved in between them and held her arm against Boyd's chest. "You're twice the size of me but I have years of supernatural strength on you. Don't try me." Amara said before pushing him back slightly.
"I don't know why you think you have to protect everyone now, Scott... But, even so, Lydia has killed people, and she's gonna do it again. And next time, it's gonna be one of us." Derek said making Amara look at him. "It's not her!" She yelled making Derek look at her, "She was bitten by an Alpha, Amara! It's her." He said.
"You saw that thing up close. You know it's not like us." Scott said and Derek just shook his head, "But it is! We're all shapeshifters. You don't know what you're dealing with- it happens rarely, and it happens for a reason."
"What reason."
"Sometimes, the shape you take reflects the person that you are. And you know how many people call her cold blooded." Derek said and Amara scoffed and shook her head slightly. "Well, what if she's immune? What if she's got something inside of her that makes her immune to the bite, which is why she didn't get paralyzed?" Scott said and Derek shook his head in frustration.
"No one's immune! I've never seen it or heard of it. It's n-It's never happened!" Derek said while shaking his head. "Is that so?" Amara asked making them look at her, "Why dont you test me then? Or maybe my mom? You and I both know that Kanima venom doesnt affect any type of witch. So maybe Lydia is something that simply isnt affected by Kanima venom. You're test is dumb and prove anything." Amara said making Derek sigh while she just shrugged slightly.
"If you wanna talk about people getting bit by an Alpha, why don't you take a look at first failed attempt at making a beta." She said making realization cross over Scott's face. "Jackson. That's why you tested him, isn't it? Because you gave him what he wanted, didn't you?" Scott question and Derek just sighed, "No." He said. "Well, I have a theory- Lydia's immune, and somehow she passed it onto Jackson." Scott said making Derek just shake his head, "You know I'm right!"
"No!"
"You cannot do this!"
"Look, I can't let her live! You should have known that!" Derek said making Scott sigh, "I was hoping I would convince you... But, then... I wasn't counting on it." Scott said and started walking back to the school but stopped when he realized Amara wasn't following.
"Congrats Der." Amara said as she shrugged slightly, "You're as bad as Peter." Amara said before walking away with Scott.
"McCall! Get over here!" Coach suddenly yelled making Scott sigh and look at Amara, "Go, I'll meet up with you guys as soon as possible." Scott said and Amara nodded and ran off. She ran to the front of the school and saw the jeep still there making her run over before climbing in. "Where's Scott?" Stiles asked and she sighed, "Got held back by Coach. He'll meet up with us later."
π¦
When they arrive Amara helped Lydia out of the Jeep then joined Stiles, Allison and Jackson at the steps to the McCall home. "If we're studying at Scott's house, where is Scott?" Lydia asked while Stiles goes to unlock the front door, "Meeting us here. Hopefully." Amara mumbled Stiles before threw the door open.
They all walk in and then Stiles slams the door shut then locks it. Then flips the deadbolt. Then latches the chain. Amara sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as Stiles turns to a suspicious Lydia. "Uh, there's been a few break-ins around the neighborhood." He said then look around for a moment and grabbed a chair, shoving it under the door knob, "And a murder. Yeah, it was bad."
As he retreats from the door, Allison gives Jackson a nod to the stairs making him sigh, "Lydia, follow me. I need to talk to you for a minute." He said before walking up the stairs. "Seriously, what is going on with everyone?" Lydia muttered under breath before following Jackson.
A little while longer Amara stepped away from the window to call Scott while Allison and Stiles looked out the window. Derek and his betas were standing outside in the road, watching the house.
"What's wrong?" Scott asked once he answered the phone, "You need to get here now. Because while I'm sure I can fight off three betas and an Alpha who can't fight... I'd rather save my strength. And I've already told my mom what's happening and she's trying to find a reason to leave work but I doubt she'll be able to." Amara said."Okay, I'm leaving now. On my way." Scott said before hanging up.
After a little while, Amara, Allison and Stiles throw cautious glances at Derek and his pack outside the window. With the hand not holding the crossbow, Allison pulls out her phone, "What are you doing?" Amara asked and Allison sighed, "I think-I think I have to call my dad." Allison said anxiously making Amara's eyes widen. "But if he finds you here-" She started to say and Allison nodded.
"I know, but what are we supposed to do? They're not here to scare us, okay? They're here to kill Lydia." Allison said and Stiles looked out the window, "Hey, I got an idea- just shoot one of 'em." Stiles said looking at Allison's cross bow making Allison look at him like he was crazy. "Are you serious?" She asked and he nodded. "We told Scott we could protect ourselves, so let's do it! Or at least give it a shot, right?" Stiles said and Amara nodded in agreement, "Look, they don't think we're gonna fight, so if one of them gets hit, I guarantee they'll take off. So, just shoot one of 'em." Stiles said.
"Okay, which one?" Allison asked as she walked over to the window, "Uh, Derek. Yeah, shoot him. Preferably in the head." Stiles said and Amara shook her head, "Scott was able to catch an arrow, so Derek definitely would be able to especially since they'll knows coming considering they can hear us." She said and Allison nodded in agreement.
"Okay, uh, just shoot one of the other three, then." Stiles
