Chapter Sixteen
🦎 Abomination 🦎

"They're on their way back. So we don't have much time to talk." Deaton said as Scott held up his shirt to show a wound Derek gave him. "You wont be able to heal naturally because of Derek so Amara will heal you herself." Deaton said making Scott furrow his brows.

"You can heal people?" Scott asked, looking at Amara who took a deep breath while rubbing her hands together. "I can heal burns." Amara said and Scott looked at both her and Deaton confused, "But this isn't a burn." He said and Deaton nodded. "That's why she has to burn you first. Her healing properties wont stop at just a burn, if you have a cut underneath or near the burn it'll heal it too." Deaton said before nodding at Amara.

Amara's hands started to glow a red hot color before she pressed her hand over Scott's wound making him groan out in pain. A moment later she pulled her hand back and held it out in front of the wound. Her eyes started to glow her golden yellow-firey red mix as glowing reddish-orange veins started trailing up her arm as the wound healed.

"Okay, there." Amara said, stepping back one the wound was completely healed making Scott look down at it for a moment before looking ar Deaton. "Okay, how do you know all this? Actually, how do you know anything?" Scott asked and Deaton shook his head slightly, "That's a longer story. What I can tell you is I know about your kind. Your kind and Amara's and her mother's kind I can help. This.." He said as he lifts the sheet from a man's torso to reveal numerous and bloody slash wounds on the body.

"This is something different."

"That's one of Argent's hunters right?" Amara asked and Deaton nodded, "Do you know what did it?" Scott asked. "No. But the Argents will. And this is the crucial part. They'll have some kind of record or book. It'll have descriptions, histories, notations of all the things they've discovered." Deaton said making Scott look at him wide eyes, "All of the things? How many different things are there?"

Amara and Deaton glanced at each other with an amused look but before they could answer, the sound of tires on gravel turn made them turn their heads toward the waiting area. Quickly Amara grabbed Scott and pulled him into one of the other rooms..

A gloved hand pushes open the front door. Boots tracking dirt across the cement floor, Argent walks in followed by two hunters. They turn the corner to find Deaton standing alone behind the body on the table.

"I'm starting to think I need to buy a more prominent Closed sign." Deaton said as Gerard steps out from behind Argent and his men. Deaton watched the man slip on a pair of glasses to look over the hunter's corpse.

"Hello Alan." Gerard said making Argent glance at him for a moment, "It's been a while. The last I heard you'd retired..." Gerard said and Deaton raised his eyebrows slightly. "Last I heard you followed a code of conduct." Deaton said and Argent gestured to the body slightly, "If you hadn't noticed, this body is one of ours." Argent said.

"I did. I also noticed the gun powder residue at his fingertips. So don't assume I've been swayed by your philosophy just because I'll answer a few questions." Deaton said, "He was only 24." Argent said and Deaton shrugged slightly, "Killers come in all ages." He said.

"All ages, sizes, shapes. It's the last one that concerns us." Gerard said while walking around, "How about you tell us what you found?" Argent said. Deaton turned the head to reveal a horizontal slash wound just below the hairline on the nape of the neck. "See this cut here? Precise. Almost surgical. But this wasn't the wound that killed him. It has a more interesting purpose."

"Related to the spine?" Gerard asked and Deaton nodded, "That's right. Whatever made this cut was laced with a paralytic toxin potent enough to disable all motor function. These are the cause of death. See the pattern on each side?" Deaton said, now looking at the slash marks on the chest. "Five for each finger." Argent said and then his father corrected him, "Each claw."

"As you can see, it dug in and slashed upwards, eviscerating the lungs and slicing through the bone of the rib cage with ease." Deaton explained, "Have you ever seen anything like this before?" Argent asked and Deaton shook his head.

"No."

"Any idea at all what killed him?" Argent asked, "I can tell you it's fast, remarkably strong and has the capacity to render its victim essentially helpless within seconds." Deaton said and Argent raised his eyebrows slightly. "If you're saying we should be cautious, we get it." Argent said.

"I'm saying you should be afraid. Very afraid. Because in the natural world, predators equipped with a paralytic toxin use it to catch and eat their prey. This prey wasn't eaten. That means whatever killed him only wanted to kill him. In fact... Killing may be its only purpose." Deaton said making Amara and Scott glance at each other.

Amara walked down the stairs to the railway depot and sat down on the next to Boys. "I thought you didn't like us." Boyd said and Amara shrugged slightly, "I think I can tolerate you, the others not so much. But I'd like to see if my pack can defend themselves." Amara said and Boyd nodded slightly.

They watched as at the end of the dark corridor, Isaac stands with his hands at his sides, head slung low. He takes a breath, teeth clenched before running, jumping over any kind of obstacle in the way as he ran towards Derek.

He jumped up onto a metal beam before leaping towards Derek but Derek just grabbed him and slammed him down onto the concrete making Amara cringe slightly. A few minutes later Isaac tried again, doing the exact same thing as before, which only got the exact same results. And for another three or four tries, Isaac kept doing the same thing, getting the same out come.

"This is a train wreck. Pun intended." Amara whispered to Boyd making him chuckle and nod in agreement.

All of the sudden a low growl made Derek look up to see Erica on top of the broken down subway. She quickly leaped off it, only to get tossed to the ground next to Isaac. "Does anyone wanna try not being completely predictable?" Derek asked as he walked forward slightly and when he turned back around Erica attacks again.

She lands right on him, literally latching onto his torso with her legs. He staggers back with her attached to him when she kisses him. Lips and tongue all over his. For just a moment, Derek allows it but then he breaks her grip and drops her back to the floor. Right on her ass.

"She's like fifteen and he's like twenty-three. Gross."

"That's the last time you do that." Derek said as he whipped his mouth off, "Why? Because I'm a Beta?" Erica asked as Boyd and Amara walked over to them. "No... Because I have someone else in mind for you." He said and Isaac sighed slightly, "Are we done? I got about a hundred bones that need a few hours to heal." He said as he sat up.

Derek nodded slightly in sympathy before walking over to Isaac, "Come here..." Derek said softly and Isaac held out his arm. Derek grabbed before suddenly snapping it making Isaac groan in pain, "A hundred and one." Derek said before noticing Amara.

"What are you doing here?" He asked and she raised her eyebrows, "Watching a pack of people who can't fight, obviously." She said making him roll his eyes.

"You think I'm teaching you to fight? Huh Look at me! I'm teaching you how to survive!" Derek yelled making both Amara scoff under her breath. "If they wanted us dead, why aren't they coming for us now? What are they waiting for?" Isaac asked and Derek shook his head slightly.

"I don't know. But, they're planning something. And you especially know that's not our only problem. Whatever that thing is that killed Isaac's father, I think it killed someone else last night. Until I find out what that is, you all need to learn everything that I know... As fast as I can teach you." Derek said making Amara scoff as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"With you teaching them they're gonna be dead by morning." Amara said making them look at her, "This." She said as she waved her hand over the two betas on the ground. "Is not teaching anyone how to survive or fight. All you're teaching them is how to get their asses knocked to the ground." She said and Derek raised his eyebrows.

"And you think you know how to teach them?" He asked and she nodded, "Yeah, considering I was taught by someone who can actually fight, unlike you." Amara said making Derek roll his eyes. "I can literally turn into a wolf because I exceeded the normal strength of a Werewolf. Making them run at you until they knock you down isn't gonna do shit. They need to know about wolfsbane, flash bolts, how to hide, what to do if they're shot with a wolfsbane bullet." Amara listed.

"Despite popular belief, you can't just fight and expect it to save your life. You need to know how to also use your head. And I'm sorry but you picked two dumbasses to be your guard dogs. The only smart ones here are Boyd and I." Amara said making Erica and Isaac look at her offended while Boyd smirked slightly.

"Alright, you teach them then." Derek said and Amara shook her head, "My mom can." She said before smirking at the others. "Be prepared though, she was a US Marshal." She said making their eyes widen as she walked away to call her mom.

Amara and Scott sat next to each other on the stairs when Stiles quickly ran over and sat down next to them. "Tell me about your boss." Stiles said, 'He thinks that Allison's family keeps some kind of, uh, records of all the things that they've hunted, like a book." Scott said and Amara nodded. "Yeah, he probably means a Bestiary." She said and Scott looked at her confused, "What?" He asked.

"A Bestiary." Stiles said and Scott giggled slightly and raised his eyebrows, "I think you mean bestiality." He said making Amara look at him weird. "Nope, I mean a Bestiary. It's like an encyclopedia of mythical creatures. My aunt had one but it burned along with the house." Amara said and Scott sighed exasperatedly, "How am I the only one who doesn't know anything about this stuff?" He asked.

"Okay, you're my best friend, you're a creature of the night... It's kind of, like, a priority of mine and Amara's been in this world literally her whole life." Stiles said and Amara nodded in agreement, "Okay. If we can find it, and it can tell us what this thing is." Scott said. "And who." Amara said and they all looked at each other, "We need that book." They all said before Stiles ran off to talk to Allison.

Amara and Scott grabbed their bags and started walking down the hall. "Why was bestiality the first thing your mind went to?" Amara asked and Scott shrugged, "They sounded really similar." Scott said and Amara looked at him crazy. "No, they don't. 'iary' and 'iality' sound completely different." Amara said and Scott gave her a look, "Anyone could get those mixed up." He said and she raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah, anyone with only half a brain." She said, laughing when Scott playfully shoved her. "So what's going on with Derek and his pack?" He asked and she sighed, "Whenever my mom has a day off she's gonna teach them everything she taught me. Or at least the necessary basics so they can at least have a change at defending themselves against hunters." She said and he nodded.

All of the sudden Stiles ran up to them, "Seen her grandfather... with a book like that..." He said, breathlessly and Amara nodded. "Makes since Gerard would have it. Where does he keep it?" Amara asked and Stiles took a deep breath before running off again. Amara and Scott watched him run off before glancing at each other and shaking her heads slightly.

A couple minutes later, Scott and Amara stood at Scott's locker when Stiles ran up to them again, more breathless then before. "She says... has to be... office..." Stiles said before dramatically gasping making Amara raise her eyebrows, "Want some water?" She asked and he instantly nodded making her pull out a water bottle from her bag.

Against the brilliant glow of the lights, the body of a Beacon Hills mid-fielder
soars gracefully up and then crashes
brutally down. "Oh.. Nice." Amara said, chucking while Stiles cringe from over on the benches. Behind them, the parents of Beacon Hills look on with abject terror. The reason why- a huge player on the opposing team. He's a dense combination of fat and muscle, towering over all the other boys.

"Come on! Is that thing even a teenager? I want to see a birth certificate!" Coach tells but the ref blows the whistle, ignoring him. Fuming, Coach sits on the bench next to Stiles. "Who or what is that genetic
experiment gone wrong?" Coach asked.

"Eddie Obomowitz. They call him The
Abomination." Stiles answered and Amara  chuckled, "He definitely came from a laboratory in Russia." She said making Stiles furrow his brows and look at her. "HYDRA?" He asked and she smiled at him, "Yeah!" She said.

Amara looked back at Allison to see the girl looking at her with a nod, "Let's go." Amara said and Stiles nodded and got up, walking over to where Allison sat. Allison gives a nod to her grandfather while her hand eases down and drops the keys to Stiles, right underneath the bleachers.

The two quickly ran through the parking lot but the sound of someone crying made Amara stop and glance around until she sees Lydia sitting in her parked in her car crying. "Hey, you go on without me. I'm gonna check on Lydia." Amara said making Stiles look at her, "You sure?" Stiles asked and Amara nodded. Stiles nodded slightly and ran odd while Amara jogged over to Lydia's window.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Amara asked and Lydia turned away and roll her window up making Amara sigh. "Lydia, come on." Amara said and Lydia shook her head, "Just go away." Lydia said but Amara didn't move as she leaned her arm above the window. "What's wrong?" Amara asked and Lydia shook her head, "Look, I don't need anyone seeing me cry." Lydia said.

"You shouldn't care if people see you cry, especially you." Amara said making Lydia look at her, "Why?" She asked in a slight whisper and Amara smiled at her. "Because while other people look like a total mess when they cry, you still look extremely beautiful." Amara said making Lydia stare at her for a moment before rolling her window down.

"You're gonna think I'm crazy..." Lydia said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "Lydia, you could literally tell me that you've been abducted by aliens and I still wouldn't even consider being crazy as an option." Amara said and Lydia sighed softly. "I keep seeing the man who attacked me. But it's not like he's stalking me... It's like-" Lydia said and Amara nodded, "Like you're being haunted by him." Amara said making Lydia look at her.

"Yeah." Lydia said and Amara nodded and sighed, "I know how it feels. After the the fire, I kept seeing my burning father everywhere. Therapists will just say its PTSD." Amara said and Lydia shook her head. "But it doesn't feel like PTSD." She said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "It feels like something more?" She asked and Lydia nodded.

Amara furrowed her brows slightly before remembering how Peter had bit Lydia moment before dying. She closed her eyes and sighed in annoyance quietly, she was about to say something but stopped when she heard something. "Ah, ah, ah." She heard Stiles muttering making her glance back at the school before taking a deep breath and looking at Lydia.

"Hey, why dont you go home, watch a movie or something and either after the game is over or tomorrow I'll come over and we can talk about everything." Amara said making Lydia look at her, "Really?" She asked and Amara nodded. "If I dont come over tonight then I will tomorrow. Promise." Amara said while holding her pinky out making Lydia give her a look.

"What are we? Five years old?" Lydia asked and Amara playfully looked at her offended, "Hey, five year old me took pinky promises very seriously." Amara said making Lydia laugh. Lydia sighed softly before wrapping her pinky around Amara's making Amara smile at her before they pulled their hands away.

"I'll talk to you later, alright?" Amara asked and Lydia nodded before Amara quickly ran off towards the school.

Amara walked over to the principal's office to see the door wide open and the room empty. "Stiles?" She called out but she suddenly heard a thud coming from the pool area. Walking down the hall she pushed open the doors to see Stiles holding Derek up in the middle of the pool and Erica off to the side passed out. "What the hell happened?" Amara asked making them look at her.

"Amara! Amara, get in the pool!' Stiles yelled making her furrow her brows in confusion, "Why?" Amara asked. "Because it's here!" He said and before she could say anything she heard a hiss behind her. She turned around to see the glorified lizard they saw at Isaac's house making her sigh.

"You again." Amara muttered as she took her shoes and jacket off before she took a step towards the pool but the thing hissed and darted in front of her making her stop. The thing let out a low hiss before circling her making her roll her eyes, "You do realize I could fry you right now, right?" Amara asked and the creature just hissed at her.

"Amara, just get into the pool." Derek said making her sigh before waving her hand slightly and a circle of fire surrounded the creature. She quickly took this moment to make a beeline for the pool. The second she hit water the fire around the creature disappeared. She resurfaced and took a deep breath before swimming over to Stiles and Derek.

"Will you get me out of here before I drown." Derek asked making Stiles scoff, "You're worried about drowning? Did you notice the thing out there with multiple rows of razor sharp teeth?" He asked incredulously and Amara nodded in agreement.

"Did you notice I'm paralyzed from the neck down in eight feet of water?!" Derek asked and Amara rolled, "Not like its gonna magically go away once your out of water." She said as she glanced around. "Okay, I don't see it." She said, looking over at Stiles who nodded, they both started moving to the edge if the pool before Derek stopped them.

"Wait, wait, wait! Stop! Stop!" He said making them look over to see the creature roaming around the pool. "What's it waiting for?" Stiles asked and Amara
