Chapter Eleven
🐺 Formality 🐺

Scott snaps awake, glancing around the animal clinic before getting off the metal table making Deaton and Amara turn around. "Welcome to the land of the conscious. You doing okay?" Deaton asked as he walked over to Scott who looked out of it.

"Maybe you should sit down." Amara suggested as she walked over to them and Scott glanced down at the patch on his side. Before anyone could say anything else the bell on the door jingles making Amara and Deaton glance at each other confused.

"Hello?" Deaton called out and no one say anything, they just closed the door. Deaton started to walk toward the main area but Scott grabbed his arm and Deaton smiled reassuringly at him before walking into the main area. "I'm sorry but we're-" Deaton said before pausing slightly when he saw Peter standing by the door, "Closed." Deaton finished and Peter smiled at him.

"Hi there. I'm here to pick up." Peter said making Deaton furrow his brows slightly, "I'm not sure I remember you dropping off." He said and Peter chuckled slightly. "They wandered in on they're own." Peter said and Amara quietly pushed Scott to the corner of the examination room and they both crouched down.

"Even if they did, I'm afraid we can't help you. We're closed." Deaton said and Peter stepped forward a bit, "Well, I think you can make an exception this one time, don't you?" He asked and Deaton shook his head slightly. "I'm sorry. That's not going to be possible. Maybe you could come back during regular hours?" Deaton suggested and Peter took a deep breath.

"You have something of mine. I'm here to collect it." Peter said, "Like I said- We're closed." Deaton said. Peter went to step forward but paused slightly as he held his hand out over the gate. "Mountain ash. That's an old one." He said before grabbing a chair and throwing it at the wall.

"Let me be as clear as possible: We. Are. Closed." Deaton said slowly and Peter stood up straighter and flicked his trenchcoat before walking towards the door but stopped for a moment.

"There are others who can help me get what I want, Scott, Amara... More innocent, and far more vulnerable." Peter said lowly which both Scott and Amara heard making Amara's eyes widen, "Allison." She whispered.

🐺

"Hey." Amara said as she walked up to Allison who stood at her locker making Allison suck in a deep breath before looking at her. "I'm really sorry for running off on you last night." Amara said and Allison smiled and shook her head. "No, it's okay. Your mom told me about how your dad was comatose and secretly hasn't been for a few days. I would be mad too." Allison said and Amara nodded slightly, "Yeah... that's one way to explain it." She mumbled.

"Let me make it up to you." Amara said making Allison furrow her brows and look at her in amusement, "I said it was fine. You dont have to make it up." She said and Amara shrugged slightly. "Let me make it up to you by taking you to the formal." Amara said making Allison smile and raise her eyebrows, "You want to take me to the formal?" She asked and Amara nodded.

"Yeah... As friends or something." Amara said awkwardly and Allison nodded, "Okay." She said and Amara looked at her shocked. "Did you just say okay?" Amara asked and Allison nodded, "Yeah. Oh, Lydia and I are going to the mall after school to find dresses. You should come." Allison said and Amara nodded, "Okay." She said.

Allison smiled at her before closing her locker and walking away. Amara smiled softly to herself, leaning her shoulder against the lockers as she watched Allison walk away.

🐺

"Nothing's wrong. I have a lot on my mind." Allison said as she, Amara and Lydia stepped onto the escalator. "You could smile at least. Ever hear the saying: Never frown. Someone could be falling in love with your smile. Smile, Allison. Amara's buying you a dress." Lydia said making Allison chuckle and nod while looking at Amara.

"As far as apologies go, buying me a dress and taking me to the formal is definitely more than I expected... Even though I said you didnt haven't make it up to me." Allison said and Amara chuckled and cringed slightly, "The dress part was my mom's idea." She said. "Well, I think it's cute." Lydia said as they stepped off the escalator, "You guys can match!" She said, smiling at them before walking off.

It was quiet for a moment as Allison and Amara started looking around. "Hey, Amara? There's something I wanted to talk to you about." Allison said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "Is it what you were talking about last night?" Amara asked. "No- Well, kind of, I guess. Last night-" Allison started but someone cut her off.

"That's not your color." A familiar voice said making Amara spin around to see Peter looking at the dress in Allison's hands. "Sorry if that was intrusive. But considering your skin tone, I'd go lighter." He said as Amara stepped closer to Allison, giving Peter a harsh glare.

"Because I'm pale?" Allison asked, glancing back at Amara, obviously uncomfortable. "Fair. You can't call skin like yours pale. Not skin that perfect." He said and Amara rolled her eyes. "What the hell are you doing?" Amara asked making Peter smile at her, "Just helping my daughter and her friend find some dresses." Peter said making Allison look at Amara.

"He's your dad?" Allison asked making Amara sigh, "Sadly." She said and Peter chuckled before looking at Allison. "Trust me, I have a unique perspective on the subject." He says as he looks at a dress, "Would you mind?" He reaches for Allison's hand. Before she can even move, he had his fingers around her palm, delicately drawing her hand up to the dress, "See much better." He said before Amara pulled Allison hand away from him.

"The two of you aren't here alone, are you?Friends looking for dresses too?" He asks and Allison nodded, "High school dance?" He asked. "Formal." Allison said and Peter raised his eyebrows, "Are you each other's dates?" He asked before a voice came through the overhead speakers.

"Attention shoppers. To the owner of
a blue Mazda, license plate 5-U-N-I-7-6-8. Your car is being towed."

"Oh my god that's my car." Allison said then ran off while Amara turned to Peter. "Are you kidding me right now? I get you might not care about your family at the moment but could you at least let your daughter have a normal highschool formal?" Amara asked making Peter look at her.

"Is that what you think? That I dont care about my family? I'm doing this because of my family." Peter said and Amara scoff, "You killed Laura, knock a move shelf on your daughter and chased your daughter around the school. Yeah, you're a real family man." Amara said. "By the time I'm done, you'll understand." He said and started to walk away but stopped and turned to Amara again.

"You should look at the suits. Dresses aren't really your thing." He said before walking away.

🐺

"Is this good or should I have gotten a dress?" Amara asked when she walked out of her bathroom in her suit making her mom look at her and smile. "You look amazing, hon." Makena said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "Really? Because I feel like I'm going to a wedding." Amara said and Makena chuckled.

"Then maybe try without the blazer." Makena said and Amara nodded before taking the blazer off and tossing it on her bed. "How about now?" Amara said while messing with the tie around her neck and Makena walked over to her. "Here, you look like your choking yourself." Makena said as she took off the bow tie then unbuttoned the top two buttons.

"There, you look more like yourself while still being formal." Makena said and Amara smiled at her, "Do you want to do anything to your hair?" Makena asked making Amara look at her alarmed. "Does my hair look bad?" She asked panically and her mother chuckled and shook her head, "No, no. I was just asking if you want to keep it down, put it up, straighten it, anything." Makena suggested and Amara looked at the mirror and nodded slightly.

"I'll put it up." Amara said as she grabbed a hair tie before putting her hair up into a ponytail. She squinted at her reflection for a moment before pulling a piece of hair out and smiling at her self. She looked at her mom who smiled at her, "Beautiful." She said before kissing the side of Amara's head.

Amara looked over at the time before her eyes widened, "I need to go pick up Allison." She said. Makena nodded before pulling out her keys and holding them out. Amara smiled and went to grab them but Makena pulled them away and held her finger up. "If you crash this car like you did the last one, I will take you out of this world." Makena said and Amara looked at her offended, "That crash was not my fault. He hit me." She said and Makena nodded.

"Because you ran a red light." Makena said and Amara pursed her lips, "I would like video evidence on the accusation." She said and her mother just gave her a look. "I promise I'll be a very safe driver tonight." Amara said and Makena smiled and handed her the key. "Have fun tonight. Of anything goes wrong, you call me." Makena said and Amara smiled at her, "I will." She said before quickly kissing her mother's cheek.

"Love you!" Amara called out while quickly walking out of the room making Makena chuckle and shake her head slightly.

A little while later Amara pulled up to the Argent household and got out of the car as the front door opened. Amara looked up to see Allison walking over making her stare at her. "You look like." Allison said when she got up to Amara and Amara smiled at her, "You look- You looked really beautiful." Amara said making Allison smiled at her.

Amara awkwardly cleared her throat before opening the passenger door. Allison smiled before climbing in and Amara shut the door. She was about to walk back over to the driver side but paused for a moment when she sat Argent leaning against the door frame of the house. Amara sucked in a deep breath before quickly walking over to the driver side.

🐺

Amara pulled up to the school and looked over at Allison, "You ready?" Amara asked and Allison nodded. "Yeah." She said and Amara raised her eyebrows, "You sure? You seem nervous." Amara said and Allison looked at her. "Yeah, just a lot going on." Allison said and Amara nodded, "Tell me about it." She mumbled.

"I'm sure Jackson brought some alcohol if you want to loosen your nerves." Amara suggested and Allison chuckled, "I wouldn't mind remembering some of tonight." Allison said and Amara nodded. "Fair." She said before getting out while Allison looked at the visor mirror.

"Normal teenage girl. You can do this. Smile, Allison. Somebody could be falling in love with your-" Allison mumbled to herself but got cut off when Amara opened Allison's door and held her hand out. "The Highschool dance is waiting for you Princess." Amara said before cringing, "I'm sorry. That was so bad." Amara said making Allison laugh as she grabbed Amara's hand and climbed out.

"It was cute." Allison said making Amara smile softly before holding her arm out for Allison to wrap her arm around.

A few minutes later Amara took a sip of some punch before hummed slightly. "Nope." She said while taking Allison's cup away, "What is it?" Allison asked and Amara cleared her throat. "Jackson spiked it heavily." Amara said and Allison nodded, "That doesnt surprised me." She said before glancing around at everyone dancing.

Amara glanced around for a moment before looking at Allison and holding her hand out. "Wanna dance?" Amara asked making Allison look at her and smile before grabbing her hand. Amara led Allison into the crowd of people before turning around, holding Allison's hand up to spin her making Allison laugh.

Amara smiled softly at her before all of the sudden Coach's voice rang throughout the gym. "McCall! I see you! Come here, buddy. Come here! McCall! Get outta my way! McCall! It's a small gym, buddy! I'm gonna find you! I gotcha, McCall! Come here, come here! Get outta my way! McCall!"

Amara and Allison watched as Scott ran from Coach and ended up pretending like he was dancing with Danny as Coach caught up. "McCall! You're not supposed to-What the hell are you do- What the hell are you doing?" Coach said flabbergasted. Every couple around them pauses to notice Coach charging forward as if to chastise a gay couple for dancing with each other in public. By now even the band had stopped playing to watch them.

Coach looks from one hostile glare to the next. Scott pulls a bewildered Danny closer to him, "Yes Coach?" Scott asked innocently.

"Okay, ho-ho-ho, ha-ha. Hold on, you- I was just saying he's not supposed to- I mean, I wasn't saying that he shouldn't- You guys don't think- You don't- I-I was- Just dance, everybody! Just dance! Dance! It's a party!" Coach yelled making Amara and Allison laugh as the band started playing again, this time a slower song.

Scott walked up to them and smiled, "Can I cut in?" He asked making Amara glance at Allison before clearing her throat awkwardly. "Yeah- Yeah, of course." Amara said before smiling awkwardly and walking away from them.

Amara walked over to the food table and sighed softly while getting a cup of the spiked punch and chugging it. "Not having a good time?" Someone asked as they walked over to her and she hummed slightly, "Well, my date is dancing with her ex-boyfriend so you tell me." She said as she glanced over at the person and they cringed.

"And here I was thinking I was sad for coming without a date." He said making her chuckle, "Yeah, that probably feels really awkward." She said and he nodded before holding his hand out. "I'm Isaac." He said and she smiled at him before shaking his hand, "Amara." She said. "Well, I should probably be getting home." He said and she furrowed her brows, "It's barely even been an hour since the dance started." She said and he nodded.

"Strict curfew." He said and she hummed and nodded, "That sucks." She said and he nodded. "I'll see you at school." He said and she waved at him as he walked away. Amara glanced over at Allison and Scott before Lydia walked up to Amara making look at her.

"Have you seen Jackson?" Lydia asked and Amara pursed her lips and shook her head, "Not for a little while. Maybe he went outside to get more drunk." Amara said and Lydia nodded slightly before Amara raised her eyebrows. "Want me to help you find him?" Amara asked and Lydia shook her head, "No, it's okay." She said. "You sure?" Amara asked and Lydia nodded, "Yeah, thank you though." She said before walking away.

Amara glanced over at Allison and Scott to see them kissing making her suck in a deep breath and looking away before focusing her hearing. "Why did you do that?" She heard Allison asked, "Because I love-" Scott started to say but Allison cut him off. "Don't." Allison said making Scott look at her confused, "What?" Scott asked and Allison stepped away from him.

"Please don't say it. I can't- I don't-" Allison tried to say and Scott nodded slightly, "You don't feel the same way." He said and she nodded slightly. "I'm sorry..." She said and he shook his head, "Don't be. It's- It's okay." Scott said before smiling at her awkwardly then walking away.

Allison sighed softly before walking over to Amara who raised her eyebrows. "What happened?" Amara asked and Allison shook her head slightly, "I told Scott that I don't feel the same way... I'm pretty sure I hurt him." Allison said and Amara sighed softly before setting her cup down.

"Wanna take a walk? Take your mind off it and get some fresh air?" Amara asked and Allison nodded, "Yes, please." Allison said.

A few minutes later the two were walking in between a couple buses before Allison smiled and walked over to the doors of a bus. "What are you doing?" Amara asked as Allison pulled the doors opened and climbed in. "We can sit and talk in here." Allison said while walking down the aisle of seats while Amara raised her eyebrows.

"You know the last time I got caught in a bus, I got detention for a week." Amara said and Allison raised her eyebrows in amusement while sitting on the seat by the window where Amara stood. "And what where you doing in the bus?" Allison asked and Amara pursed her lips, "I was carving a dick in the seat." Amara said and Allison chuckled.

"And that's why you got detention." Allison said and Amara nodded and Allison smiled at her before waving her over. Amara chuckled and shook her head slightly and started to walk over to the doors but stopped when two SUVs pulled up in either side of the buses, blocking Amara in.

Amara bit her tongue and nodded slightly when she saw Argent sitting in one of the cars. "Forcing me out of the supernatural closet... As least you're not yelling slurs at me as you do so." Amara mumbled as the two men revved their engines. The two men drove forward but quickly hit their breaks when Amara threw her hands out to the side, creating two walls of fire separating her and the cars.

Allison's eyes widened and she covered her mouth as Amara looked up at her with glowing golden yellow and firey red eyes. Amara left the walls of fire down, not taking her eyes off of Allison before she took a deep breath and turned away. Amara walked over to Argent's car before stepping up onto it and walking over it before jumping off.
