Y/n's pov
It's officially Summerween and I woke up to find that I was home alone with Dipper who was still asleep and a note attached to the cereal box I always eat:
"Went to the Summerween store be back later, don't do anything stupid while we're gone, kid."
-Grunkle Stan.
Looks like it's going to be a normal morning so I sat in front of the tv with my favorite cereal box and I decided to text the new people I made friends with, most of them seemed basic but I had nothing better to do. There was one girl who seemed pretty cool, her name was Barbara but I liked to call her Babs because it reminded me of a show. She had short blonde hair and blue eyes and wasn't rich but liked to dress that way. She was a better version of Pacifica but she's a bit boy crazy.
After waiting forever for Dipper to wake up I told him about the note and how me and him were supposed to get pancakes this morning.
"I thought I was going to be the one to sleep in." I laughed and he yawned and plopped next to me rubbing his eyes.
"Is the roof really that uncomfortable to you?" He looks dead almost, still cute though.
"No it's not that. I just couldn't fall asleep." I started flipping through the channels and continued our conversation. "I'm wearing my pjs to the diner so I'm ready to go, that is if you still want pancakes?"
He was wearing his orange shirt and shorts with the same socks as usual he just didn't have his hat on. "I'm good if your good but can't I just relax here for a couple minutes?"
He did look exhausted... "Nope. Let's go." I grabbed him, my wallet, my shoes, his shoes, and the golf cart and sped away for the diner.

After a long great day with Dipper who didn't wear his hat at all today we went home to the sun starting to set outside and Grunkle Stans car pulling in.
"I am so excited!" Mabel cheered, jumping out of the car.
I still don't even have a costume, I wonder if someone got me one because I forgot about it.
"We are gonna have the best costumes and the most candy." Then they high fived and sat on the ground.
I started walking towards them after standing at the window watching the sunset. "I've never seen you two so pumped about anything before."
"Well, back at home me and Dipper were kind of the king and queen of trick or treating." She then pulled out a book from Dippers vest and started flipping through pages starting from 3 years old. I couldn't help but laugh at how cute they were together, especially Dip.
"You dudes better be careful out there. It's a night of ghouls and goblins. Not to mention, the summerween trickster." Soos spoke up from behind me, as he turned off the lights and shone a flashlight under his face to create a spooky look.
"Please we've handle stuff like that before." I said maturely, waving my hand off as if it was no problem. I mean he can't be that bad his name sounds ridiculous!
Soos continued with his story. "True, but the trickster goes door to door sort of like a ghost, eating children who lack the summerween spirit."
Sooo he's a cannibal?
"Well you don't have to worry about us. We've got enough spirit to go around." Mabel gestured around her, locking eyes with Dipper.
"Well do you think I could have some of that spirit because I don't have a costume." I sat on the armchair beside Soos who flicked the lights back on.
"Oh yeah that reminds me! I picked out a costume for you! Your always talking about (favorite show) so we decided to get you a costume of (favorite character)!"
I paused for a bit, my lips forming in a small smile as I thankfully starred at the twins. "That's the nicest thing anyone has done for me."
Dipper started coughing out of control. "What even is this stuff? I never even heard of these brands." Then he started naming the candy, that was probably why he was coughing. I picked up one of the candies and tried it, it tasted like sand.
"Gross!" I then ran to the kitchen and rinsed out my tongue. I sat at the table in the kitchen and Dipper joined me with the bowl of loser candy and started tossing them out the window and into the trash and the door bell rang.
"Trick or treaters!" Grunkle Stan emerged with a smug look on hisface. "Quick, give them the terrible candy!"
Dipper headed towards the door and opened it and saw Wendy and Robbie. I stopped paying attention and joined Mabel at going upstairs to get ready.
•••
When I stepped outside the bathroom in my costume I saw Mabel wasn't in the room so I went downstairs and saw Stan standing in front of Mabel, Candy, and Grenda.
Walk. Away. Slowly.
Before I could escape, Mabel yelled after me. "Y/n! Come meet my friends!"
I spun around and awkwardly smiled at her and joined the four. "Hey Candy. Grenda."
"Hey Y/n! We never formally met but you're very intimidating. I saw the whole thing with Pacifica! That was soooo cool!" Candy said in her small voice, causing me to shrug.
"Thanks I guess."
Grunkle Stan walked away with his cape flowing behind him, what a dork.
"Is Waddles coming with us?"
"I wish but he has a very important meeting to attend."
"Just wait until you see Dippers costume! It's amazing." Judging by the pictures of them throughout the years and that Mabel was some kind of jam, Dip would be peanut butter. "Here he comes now."
We all turned and saw that Dipper wasn't wearing a costume.
"What are you doing?" I asked while Mabel walked over to him looking a bit upset.
"Look I can't go trick or treating I'm really... sick." Then he started 'coughing' and it was obvious how fake it was. "Must have been that bad candy. Just go on without me." Then he fell to the floor and clenched his stomach.
He looked perfectly fine as he walked down the stairs.
"Where's your summerween spirit?" Mabel said, hurt lacing all throughout her words.
Just then a knock came from the door and when we opened it, it turned out to be this huge older man with a smile mask on and a plain brown wizard hat. I peeked my head over Dippers shoulder curiously.
"Trick or treat." His voice was even more creepier than his appearance.
"Dude, really? Your a little old for this man. Sorry." Dipper closed the door while the older man was in mid sentence.
Ok that was weird but why did Dipper act like a jerk?
"Why did you close the door?" Mabel furrowed her brows together, her attention now on Dipper again.
"I told you, Mabel, I'm just not feeling it tonight." Then he started coughing again, not looking at me or Mabel in the eyes.
"I think a little candy will make you feel a little bit better." I said with a wink and a nudge in the arm to him.
"I'm not trick or treating."
The door was pounded on, the hinges shaking as the person on the other side seemed to be enraged.
"Look man, just go to another house!" Dipper slammed the door shut, not paying attention to the same masked man on the other side.
Mabel continued with my comment, "Where's your Summerween hospitality?"
Then the door was pounded on even harder than the first two times.
"This guy again!" Dipper shouted, his hands going in the air in distress.
Instead I opened the door not wanting to have to deal with jerk Dipper. "I apologize for hi-"
Before I could apologize for Dippers behavior, he cut me off with his low, creepy voice. "Silence!" He pointed his finger right in front of my face, almost touching it and I couldn't see his face because of the lighting. "You insulted me. You shall pay, with your lives!" Then he came into the light with his face inches away from mine and I didn't move and gave him a cold stare.
"Ohhh what a cute little mask! Your a funny guy aren't you?" Mabel said cheerily, taking a step closer towards me.
Clearly Mabel wasn't taking this guy seriously, on the other hand I kind of was.
The guy walked into the house suddenly becoming more taller. "Am I?" Then some kid came up on the door step behind the masked man, asking for candy but the older man picked him up and threw the kid in his mouth and swallowed.
"Summerween Trickster?" I tried getting out but I fell on my butt right in front of Dipper.
"There's only one way for you to control your fate." He then picked me up and put me on my feet and touched my head with one finger. I immediately grabbed onto Dippers arm and looked at the trickster and I felt Dippers hand rest on one of my arms.
"I need treats. If you can collect 500 pieces of candy and bring them to me before the last jackolantern goes out, I will let you live." He didn't even have a mouth so when he talked it was just the smiling mask which was odd.
"500 pieces in one night? That's impossible!" I let go of Dipper and took a step forward, my stare challenging him.
"The choice is yours. It's trick or treat...or die."
That was definitely the pep talk I needed for this night. It's a good thing I'm ready to get my trick or treating on. The man jumped on the roof and crawled away on four legs.
Disgusting.
"Oh my gosh do you know what this means?" It was Dipper who was the first one to speak.
"Yes! You have to come trick or treating with us!" Mabel answered, her positive vibes kicking in.
While everyone else was still shocked by what we had encountered, I laughed because of how stupidly ironic this is. They all looked at me curiously. "Who knew that some stupid tale Soos made up would actually come true. And here we are being threatened by a cannibal. Dip, you better go get changed."
Soos came out and asked what the noise was and Dipper panicked. "Soos! The monster is making us trick or treat or else he's going to eat us!"
Why don't we just kill him? I mean he is definitely outnumbered.
"The Summerween Trickster! Aw man, dudes! You guys are in crazy bonkers trouble." Soos grew nervous, his hand resting on Dippers shoulder.
I think we've clarified that we're gonna die.
"How are we gonna get that much candy in one night? There's no way!" Dipper responded, his eyes falling to the floor in thought.
Mabel clapped from a hay stack and we all walked over to her. "Listen up people! Now some might say that being cursed by a blood thirsty holiday monster is a bad thing! But that monster messed with the wrong crew. With Candys spirit, Grendas strength, Dippers brains, Y/n's badass ability, and...Soos! We'll get 500 pieces of candy and have fun doing it too! Even if it takes our lives!"
After she had finished, everyone started cheering for Mabel while I just amusingly smirked.
I noticed Dipper wasn't doing anything and he looked agitated. I nudged him in the shoulder and he looked at me and shrugged, I rolled my eyes in return.
"To the streets!" Soos shouted, his hand pointing towards the town.
Dipper still didn't move while everyone was walking away.
"Hold on!" I yelled at everyone and gestured my thumb towards Dipper who had an orange paper in his hand. What was that?
He then tucked the paper in behind his back and coughed. "All night? I-I have a cold. Remember?" He continued to cough, still not convincing me.
"Cut the crap Dipper these are our lives at steak." I crossed my arms with yet again a cold stare set upon him.
Then Mabel joined my side. "Dipper what's worse? Being eaten by a horrifying monster or going trick or treating with us?"
At those words, Dipper turned away and acted like he was thinking. Me and Mabel gave a nod to each other and grabbed Dipper by the arm and dragged him towards town while everyone walked behind us.
As we walked around we saw everyone wearing costumes and having a good Summerween, well everyone except for Dipper. He looked like he didn't want to be seen by anyone other then our little group which made me suspicious.
Door, after door, after door, we were almost done. I have to say it's been pretty fun hanging out with the girls, they aren't as bad as I had thought. Dipper would make a jerk remark every now and then and it would annoy the crap out of me.
The Trickster payed us a visit reminding us that we didn't have much time. Why don't we just keep one of the jackomelons so it doesn't go out, then we'll have all the time we need.
•••
We headed back to the Shack for Dipper to put on his costume, we were waiting outside for him and when he finally came out of the doors he was wearing a peanut butter costume. My guess has been confirmed.
"I can't look like this in front of-" Dipper stopped himself and whispered into Mabel's ear and she happily screamed at him. He looked so adorable.
He looked at me and shook his head.
"You look adorable." I truthfully told him. Mabel squealed and pushed him towards me.
What's that about?
"Let's just get this over with, ok?" He then looked at his watch nervously. Does he have something else he's planning to go to instead of hanging with us?
He hasn't told me anything so I shouldn't act weird about his strangeness, I'm sure he would've told me if something was wrong with him.
Everyone started chanting and walking away but he stayed back and started pulling out the same paper.
"Why are you acting like this." I demanded to know rather then ask. He didn't even realize I was there and when he looked up and saw it was me who talked, he jumped.
"What do you mean? I-I'm not acting like anything. I'm sick." Then he shoved the paper into his pocket.
"Oh yeah what's that then?" I pointed to the paper.
"N-Nothing! We better catch up with the rest of the group!" He then grabbed my hand and ran towards everyone else.
I trust him enough to let this go.
•••
"124!" We're getting closer. We all split up, Mabel, Dipper and Soos went together, Candy and Grenda going together, and me going in alone. One house at a time we were making progress. More and more people were blowing out their jackomelons and we were more than half way through.
I think we're gonna make it.
•••
"499!"
We did it. We just need one more and we have plenty of time to kill. Turned out I'm not dying tonight, yay!
"And it's only 8:30! Perfect timing!" Dipper added and Mabel then hugged him.
Perfect timing for what?
"Race ya!" Mabel teased and I started sprinting but stopped running once I realized Dipper wasn't following . He was saying something to himself and I couldn't hear what.
I shook it off and caught up with the rest of the crew.
When we retrieved the candy we started heading back to the wheel barrow and Dipper but there was a car in our way and inside sat Robbie at the wheel and...is that Wendy? What are they doing here?
I over-heard them talking to Dipper about some party later. He was going to a party and didn't tell me-us?
"I like watching the trick or treaters. It reminds me of when I was a kid."
A kid? I hate being called that. Why is he trying to act like he doesn't do stuff like this? If Wendy really meant something to him then she wouldn't care if he's weird or not. He's acting so stupid!
"Ok, then, your coming right?" Wendy asked him, my breath stopping in my throat.
"Definitely. Definitely."
They all said goodbye and the car pulled away showing the four of us standing there with our mouths open, except for me as I stood there with my lips in a thin line.
"Your going to a party?" I broke the silence when he saw us and his eyes widened and he lost all the color on his face.
"W-W- Hey-"
I threw the peice of candy at him shaking my head. "That's why your acting so weird today! You were never sick, you just wanted to ditch us and go to that stupid party!" I started walking towards him with my finger pointing at him.
Mabel came beside me and said, "If it wasn't for this stupid monster then you wouldn't have came with us at all!" She looked like she was about to cry so I started talking again for her.
"You were going to leave Mabel? On your favorite holiday? You were going to leave me!" Then he looked as if I just took out his heart and crushed it in front of him.
Truth is, I only came to spend time with the Pines twins, seeming that they both have showed to be great friends and their spirit never seizes to fail boosting my mood.
"What happened to the Dipper who used to love Halloween?" Mabel cut in and got up in his face and he leaned back.
Wait a minute... "Where's all the candy..?" I asked, my fists balling up.
"Relax. Relax. I left it right here. Behind this bush." Dipper said reassuringly, walking over to a bush and we looked behind it to see that there was nothing there and the candy was floating down the river, along with the wheel burrow. All 499 pieces.
"What did you do!" I was too infuriated with him to even properly talk to him.
"I-I-" He stuttered, not having any words.
I turned around rolling my eyes but stopped when I saw more and more jackomelons being blown out. "Uh, guys."
When they looked to see what I was talking about, the end of the street had one more light lit. I started running towards it and the rest of the group followed picking up what I saw.
"Don't blow out that candle!" Dipper ran beside old man McGucket, he screamed his name apparently not hearing what Dipper told him and just as he was about to blow it out Grenda head butted him and the jackomelon started to fall, I quickly slid underneath of it and grabbed it before it either smashed or blew out.
We all took in a big breath but before I could let mine blow out everyone else did and the light blew out. "Oh no."
In the distance we saw the Trickster walk through the street lamp which made him super creepy from the lighting. The masked man knocked on an imaginary door and said "Knock, knock." He started walking towards us and we started backing up quickly. "Oh childrennnn. Where's my candy?" He said in some kind of song form.
I stopped and starred at him.
Dipper spoke up for us. "I swear we had all 500 pieces. Look it's down there somewhere we can still get it."
The Trickster grew 10x more in size, towering over me, causing Dipper to grab my hand from behind me and pull me back to his side. I still didn't look at him.
"It's too late. That was your last chance." He inched closer to us and held out his hand for me but Dipper threw a piece of candy at him and it sank into his body. What the..?
The Trickster started laughing at Dipper's attempts to harm him, so we ran around him and back to the streets. He grew two more arms and hunched his back.
I tried picking up my pace, but the Trickster threw himself in front of me and grabbed around my arms and waist with just one hand, he made the ground shake and Mabel tripped and he got her in his other hand.
"Dipper!" Mabel yelled in fright.
Dipper turned at Mabels outburst and his jaw dropped at what he saw. "No! Y/n, Mabel! Put them down!" Dipper tried charging at the trickster but was also picked up and the Trickster started laughing again.
Just as I thought we were goners some car ran into the Trickster making him drop the three of us and he splattered everywhere on the street. "Soos!"
I fell on my head and I couldn't move for a good minute. I just laid there until I heard Dippers voice. "Y/n you gotta get up now! The Trickster is down! Come on please! I care about you too
