His words consumed her. Y/n clenched her servos, holding back tears. Her optics heavied. His words repeated themselves in her audials--as clear as when she heard them.
Before, she would've surrendered to her tears. Letting them flow down her faceplate. She would've cried to the world, yet no one would hear her. There was no point in that anymore. It would never listen to her. Now, she knew everything.
Sentinel aimed and launched his missiles at the shocked quartet. Orion gave a warning, and only three of them made an escape to hide behind the wreckage of the tower. When the missiles landed, explosion upon explosion was heard from where Y/n stood--the remains of a hallway. Sentinel continued to shoot his blaster, shooting at seemingly nothing from Y/n's perspective. The smoke and fire all over the place began to overwhelm her, and more debris began to make its way to the dirtied floor as it was shot. Daunting. Overwhelming.
Sentinel suddenly stopped midair. He has spotted her. His sudden, questioning gaze made her clench her teeth in anger behind her lips. Her optics furrowed as Sentinel retreated his gaze to the floor. D was speeding towards him in his tank mode, avoiding the explosions of the missiles.
A group of Sentinel's troopers saw Y/n emerging from her hiding spot and rushed to her. Y/n turned to them, assuming a look of concern behind their masks. She shuddered at a trooper's sudden hold on her wrist. She pulled away, giving the trooper a revolted look. The trooper began to speak in a monotone, "My lady--we need to bring you to safety-"
Y/n felt even more revolted at her title. She tried to understand that the troopers were probably just doing their job. However, she then remembered they work solely for Sentinel.
"Don't call me that," she snapped, backing up from the group. More blasting was heard in the background. At the corner of her vision, she saw Airachnid with Elita in her grasp. The sight made her feel even more betrayed.
The troopers turned to each other, their gestures suggesting they were stupefied. Sentinel sped over to her in the air, and a trail of dust followed him. He hovered over her; his gaze loomed over her like a shadow.
Y/n turned to him, a glare of betrayal and anger painted upon her optics. He was stunned at seeing her up close in her current state. The humming from his frame further annoyed her. He was right here--right in front of her. Staring. She tried to piece together what she wanted to say, but there were too many things. Too many confessions. Too many insults. Too many feelings. She wasn't willing to retreat her vision yet.
Time was passing by, second after second. Either too fast or too slow. The world seemed to pause.
...
She didn't notice Sentinel slowly raising his blaster to her helm.
Her optics then unglued from Sentinel's and widened at the blaster a few inches away from her faceplate. She tensed up. Is this how her life should be ending?
No. It shouldn't be.
Primus, where are you?
Sentinel sighed behind his mask, "I loved you, Y/n. This really does pain me..." he whispered, loud enough for her to hear.
Loved you.
As if it were an outburst of anger, Y/n suddenly shoved the blaster away from her, the force pulling Sentinel along. He regathered his thoughts out of shock; he snapped his gaze to her.
Y/n stood her ground, although she also feared this moment would truly be her end. Her last hold on sanity hoped for inner peace.
"You're a monster, Sentinel..." she clenched her servos. Her faceplate warmed up as Sentinel continued his looming stare. "You never loved me; I know that now. You said it yourself..."
She continued, D peaked his helm from behind a pillar in the distance, ready to rush at them once he got the chance.
"I fell for you, and I was only an object for you--you disgust me," she raised her voice. "You took my dreams from me-- all those cycles, I could've been doing anything else!"
Sentinel furrowed his optics as she said this, lifting his blaster from the floor in her direction. However, she felt this shouldn't stop her.
"I'll never get those dreams back...you destroyed them. Now, I have to realize you were taking me apart for your own enjoyment. I regret ever being with you!"
Sentinel's blaster began to hum louder, preparing to shoot at her. Her optics felt dry. Tears stuck to her faceplate. Her spark was empty. Her feelings poured into Sentinel's ignorance. What was there to lose now?
"I have nothing left to lose. You took it all."
Suddenly, D lunged at Sentinel from behind. He turned his blaster to the grey bot, only to shoot it in a different in a different direction.
Y/n felt stunned as she watched the mechs fight. She backed up into a pillar behind her, gaining a better view of the other side of the crashed train. B and Orion were fighting off troopers. B was swinging his knife hands in excitement as the troopers were backing away from him in terror. Although she couldn't see it behind his mask, he was ecstatic.
"I'm gonna cut these guys, watch-" B called out to the troopers sprinting away from him, "Come here!"
Orion smiled, "You can jab them later. We gotta go."
Y/n watched silently as they disappeared from her vision. No troopers came up to her. The mechs continued attacking each other in the distance. Sentinel fought a lot more effortlessly, grabbing and throwing D across the room when he got the chance.
Y/n leaned against a pillar behind her. Fear returned. She felt no need to be angry or sadβplain fear. Spark accelerating. Widened optics. Digits digging at her shoulders. Fear for the future.
Maybe this isn't the end.
Orion's words remained with her. She wondered what he and the others were planning to do.
They were here for Sentinel.
Anything that would go against Sentinel was like a string of hope for her. Anything.
