y/n kamado

in a village full of people who're sleeping contently, the bright moon watching over them as the night darkens. the once peaceful night got cut off when cries of a baby could be heard in one of the houses.

"please quiet down a little, we don't want to disturb the village people." muttered the mother of the crying baby as she snuggled her daughter closer to her arms before humming her a lullaby.

"this lullaby is sang to me by my older sister, i wanted to let you hear it as well." continued the mother as she stood from her sitting position before twirling around the room to keep the baby at ease.

soon the baby had stopped crying when she heard the sound of her mother's humming. the baby smiled lightly which didn't go unnoticed by her mother who happily cooed at her for being so adorable and responsive.

the mother looked upon the window where the full moon could be seen, she wondered how her husband was doing. it has been a few weeks ever since he left for a mission and she got a response saying he'll be back tomorrow but that didn't stopped her from worrying specially since it's dark where demons had the most advantage.

her vision then landed on the drawer where a portrait is displayed, it's a painting of her and her older sister together. her mind wandered to her dead older sister who had protected her, a smile on her face as she remembered the silly days they've spent together.

there is a huge difference between their ages, her older sister is 13 years older than her. she got conceived accidentally, and when their mother gave birth to her she lost her life. ever since then their father grew a hatred and abandoned them which made her older sister take care of her.

m/n the name of the mother who's cuddling her now sleeping daughter, she gazed upon her features as she resembles her father a lot.

"you have such beautiful features, and you even got my eye color. may you grow up as beautiful as your mother." she mumbled, laying a kiss on top of her daughter's forehead before humming the tune once again.

unbeknownst to the both of them is a demon lurking around the area of the home, the demon waited for an opening where she could massacre both of them and put an end to their suffering.

"poor innocent souls." mumbled the demon to herself, sarcastically.

the mother made sure her daughter is sound asleep before placing her on the futon. she gave her a one last kiss before turning to her futon and laying down, and finally having a goodnight sleep.

that night the most unthinkable happened, both the mother and the daughter got attacked by the demon. their blood flowing and oozing from their bodies as they laid cold on the floor.

the next day when the father returned from his long term mission, he was greeted with the sight of his family dead on the cold floor. he froze on his spot, and his mind slowly processing the situation he saw.

tears forming on his eyes as he drop on the floor near them, he cradle his wife as he wipe the blood on her face as he mourned. he turned to his daughter, and gently picking her up before trapping her in his embrace.

that was until, he heard heartbeats.

opening my eyes and getting greeted by the shining sun, i covered my eyes with my arm as i thought of the dream i had.

ever since the mugen train incident, and meeting the upper moon zero. some weird dreams kept visiting me every night, and almost looked like it's real.

"what a weird dream." i mumbled to myself before getting up.

everything went in a flash, four months had passed ever since the mugen train incident and everyone included in the scene is safe and are healed fully. no one died from that incident which i'm very thankful for, my situation is almost like a miracle, i survived that demon's blow.

my thoughts got cut off by groans and grunts coming from the outside, i looked upon the window and saw tanjiro, inosuke, and zenitsu busying themselves with training. after their recovery, they went straight to training, and even went to defeat demons by themselves.

then i remembered every time they had to leave and carry out their duties alone, zenitsu would always whine and hide away from the kakushi who'd drag him out of the butterfly estate and usher him to complete his mission. on the other hand, inosuke would always be so pumped up and getting his missions done right away.

peeking at the window, my eyes landed on the three shirtless boys who's running around the butterfly estate. my eyes went to tanjiro and at the box carried by him, i let out a small sigh before facepalming myself, tanjiro have always carried nezuko every he goes.

my thoughts then wandered to me, the pillars and oyakata-sama had decided to give me a break for a few months because of the hole in my stomach. i disobeyed their orders and continued training until a certain someone caught me off guard and scolded me for being too reckless.

the bright moon shone upon my room as i stared at the ceiling, waiting for the time where most people would be sound asleep. it had been a month ever since the mugen train incident and my stomach had gotten fully healed. none of the pillars know about this situation and the talk between me and shinobu-san because she suggested that it should be kept as a secret until she figures out a solution.

breaking away from my thoughts, i tried to listen through the walls to figure if someone is still awake and to my luck no sounds could be heard. immediately i left the butterfly estate and towards an isolated forest where i could train. although it's in a middle of the night, demons couldn't be seen lurking because of the wisteria flowers that surrounds the whole headquarters and the pillar estates.

grabbing hold of my blade, i made a few swings and slashes before moving to sun breathing where i practiced some of the forms that i haven't mastered completely.

"you shouldn't be training kamado-san."

i tilted my head and found tomioka-san leaned against a tree, his arms crossed on his chest as he stared at me. without muttering a word, i ignored his presence and continued training.

"i did say you shouldn't be training." i squealed when a hand wrapped around my hand that holds the blade, and a hot breathe brushed on my ears as i felt his voice vibrate.

"didn't you get injured badly? what would the other pillars think when they find out you're sneaking and training with this wound of yours." continued him as i felt his hand grab the blade from my grip, before removing it.

"i'm fine, the wound doesn't hurt as much." i said, meeting his gaze as the both of us stared at each other's features.

the breeze of the wind collided with our hair as it swayed from the wind current, none of us muttered anything and instead continued the gazing battle that would seem to last for hours. it felt like the time had slowed down when i met his gaze, opening my mouth to say something first, then slowly shutting up as he tilted his head at the side.

"a wound is still a wound, you should get some rest." he mumbled before sheathing my blade and handing it back to me.

cursing myself internally, i gave him a nod before gently sitting on the grass then gazing at the stars. i thought that maybe tomioka-san would leave but instead he followed my movements, and he comfortably sat next to me which i didn't mind at all.

when i first saw him, i thought that he isn't much of a talker and guess i was right. the silence between the two of us is honestly comforting, nothing awkward is happening and the two of us are just enjoying the cool breeze and stargazing.

"if you want you could train with me every night, but nothing too much merciless. just a recovery training that could fasten the pace of your recovery." he spoke, without turning my head i nodded in agreement, this is better than getting found by the other pillars and ended up getting scolded.

for another month, i spent most of my time during the night training with tomioka-san. he helped me with my recovery training, and since then no one found out about what we're doing. he knew he'd be in trouble as he encouraged me for it but he did say he'll take full responsibility and wouldn't let me handle all the consequences.

in that month i learned a lot about him, he didn't mention anything about his past since he's quite uncomfortable talking about it which i assured him. he only mentioned about his likes and dislikes, and he could be talkative at times. whenever we train he would make sure i'm in good condition before pushing through.

but one night when we're out training, a sudden movement from the bush caused the both of us to stop and freeze in our spots. suddenly a familiar black-and-white checkered haori came into view and i didn't have to guess who that person was.

"so this is where you disappear to."

i frowned as i met obanai-san's gaze, he had a taunting look as he stared at tomioka-san then at me. he snickered before walking towards the both of us and stopping at least 5 meters away.

the three of us stood in silence, no one muttered anything. both tomioka-san and obanai-san stared at each other intently, tomioka-san's gaze held no emotions and remained stoic while obanai-san had his eyebrows furrowed and a taunting look could be observed on his face.

wanting to break the awkward silence, i was about to say something when obanai-san averted his gaze on me. i heard him click his tongue, and a hiss from kaburamaru could be heard as it stared at tomioka-san.

"shouldn't you be resting?"

"and who do you think you are, tomioka. to allow her train when she's clearly not fully healed."

said obanai-san with a venomous tone of voice. i felt chills run under my spine as a few sweat-drop started forming on my forehead while looking over at tomioka-san who remained unbothered by obanai-san's presence.

"i am merely helping her in fast recovery." explained tomioka-san, standing his ground and showing a bit of dominance because of the height difference.

"i forced him, it's not his fault." i lied, my gaze meeting the floor as obanai-san's cold-hearted stare met my uneasy form.

i didn't want tomioka-san to get involved in this matter, what he's been doing up until now is helping me and my family. the reason why us the kamado's, survived the wrath of the pillars is because of the letter sent by urokodaki-san and that him and tomioka-san would be held accountable if nezuko ended up devouring a human.

"you even have the audacity to lie, i'm no fool."  muttered obanai-san as he glared at the both of us.

i bit my lower lip before tilting my head to the side, not wanting to meet obanai-san's burning gaze, i'm not sure but i think he's beyond mad. his whole posture radiates nothing but annoyance and anger. the tension between him and tomioka-san is getting out of control, and overwhelming the empty forest as deafening silence surrounds the whole area.

"so?"

"as far as what i have observed, you don't concern yourself to other pillars unless it's kanroji. therefore you have no business with what's going on between the two of us."

my eyes widened when i heard tomioka-san speak. a certain phrase echoed throughout my mind "therefore you have no business with what's going on between the two of us." i felt my whole body heating up, it sounded so wrong and misleading that obanai-san would think something is going on between me and tomioka-san when in reality we're merely training partners.

obanai-san gritted his teeth, his face heating up as he heard those words coming out of tomioka-san's mouth. his face flushed red, and his fists forming into a ball. i stared worriedly at the two that might break out a fight in a middle of the night where most people are sleeping peacefully.

"tomioka-san thank you for training with me again. i think this is enough for today, we should rest." i hurriedly said while grabbing hold of tomioka-san's arm and pulling him towards me, his body followed my movements but his eyes remained on obanai-san.

"for today? you're still planning on training in the following days? do you not understand your current situation, you nearly died because of that hole in your stomach and it's only been a month since that accident."

"you cannot fight, you're still weak. your wound can worsen if you continued training at night with tomioka."

obanai-san spoke as he spilled tomioka-san's name with venom, he continued his scolding by stating the reasons as to why i should be resting and sleeping right now instead of training when i'm clearly not fully healed.

"i don't think you need to concern yourself with what kamado-san wanted to do." blurted out tomioka-san.

"and what makes you think you can concern yourself with her as well?" retorted obanai-san.

the tension between the two kept piling. they stood across each other as i remained in the middle, my forehead covered in sweat as i tried to remain calm as possible. i can't seem to break the two apart, and any minute now they could cause a fight and the blame with be put to me since it's my fault for training in the first place.

"because i held responsibility for opposing of not killing her cousin, you have done none of that so i don't see the need of you concerning yourself. you seem out of character, obanai." taunted tomioka-san, without another word obanai-san remained glued on his spot as his eyes slightly widened.

silence occurred between the two until i felt a hand grab on my wrist, tomioka-san looked at obanai-san for a second before dragging me away from the scene. i worriedly look at obanai-san who's staring at the ground and a shadow forming on his face as he gritted his teeth.

"i knew it." i heard tomioka-san mumbled to himself.

"what a dumbass."

i wanted to ask tomioka-san about what he's blabbering about but decided to remain quiet. we would always walk back to the butterfly estate in peace, but this time there is a bit of a tension lingering on the air.

"don't think much of it, he'll come around."

i didn't really understand what tomioka-san meant but nonetheless agreed with him. i felt his hand on my head, patting it gently before ushering me to enter the butterfly estate. i wave him a small goodbye before entering the estate carefully, not making a noise so i wouldn't get caught.

i whined to myself, covering my face with a pillow as i felt my body heating up from embarrassment. the whole situation is full of tension, and awkwardness. i didn't really understand why obanai-san showed up and suddenly drop a bomb.

that was two months ago, after that i noticed obanai-san ignoring me. kanroji-san would always invite me to eat with her, she would always have obanai-san with her but ever since that night happened i wouldn't see him joining the two of us. although he did spend time with the love pillar, he wouldn't come when i'm around.

i didn't mind at first but as time passes by, it made me think if my presence annoys him. we were once put together to buy some ingredients for a celebration, but he run off without me and bought all the things. there are a few tries from oyakata-sama, like sending us in a simple mission together, but obanai-san would make a comment about not wanting me as a partner and that i wouldn't be that much of a help because of my wound and i'll only be a hindrance.

i didn't want his words affecting me, and so i pushed him aside and continued on forward. my main goal is prioritizing my family, i'm the oldest and therefore have burdening responsibilities that only i can carry out. tanjiro would always work twice harder, and wanted to show him that he can also rely on me, and he need not to worry.

putting on a simple kimono, i thought of spending my remaining free time with rokuta before i'm suddenly off to another mission that would last for days. these four months, i was able to catch up with rokuta and kyojuro would always accompany the both of us.

i head towards the main door, i'm heading towards kyojuro's estate where rokuta is currently staying. since butterfly estate is mostly for treating demon hunters, kyojuro suggested that it'd be a good idea to have rokuta live with him. at first i was reluctant with the idea of other people taking care of my younger cousin, but if it is kyojuro then i don't mind.

stepping foot outside the main door, i heard a few screams and squeals. turning my gaze in front and seeing the scene of uzui-san with aoi and naho trapped in his muscular arms.

"PLEASE STOP IIIT!"

"LET THEM GO!"

screamed both the girls, kiyo and sumi. them whining about aoi and naho being taken by the sound pillar. i stared at the scene while trying to form of an idea as to why are they being taken by uzui-san, there must be a reason for this.

"Ka-kanao!"

mentally facepalming myself, i look over at kanao's troubled face. her mind battling between tossing a coin to help her friends or remain glued on the floor and watch them get taken by uzui-san.

just then, she dashed towards uzui-san with full force. she stopped before she hit his back, she had a grip on naho's clothes while holding aoi's hand, stopping the momentum of the sound pillar.

"kanao."

"kanao-sama."

"don't just pull on me so plainly. you have your orders."

kanao remained in her position, her eyes shut close as she refused to respond.

"JUST SAY SOMETHING YOU PLAIN BORING PERSON!"

"KYAAAA!!!"

"CHA-CHARGE!!!"

"HEYY! CUT THE DAMN CRAP OUT!!"

sighing to myself, i leaned on the wall for support as i stared at the scene occurring in front of me with amusement. it's not everyday you see a pillar getting harassed with a bunch of little girls. better savor the moment.

"WHAT'RE YOU DOING TO THE GIRLS! GET YOUR HANDS OFF THEM!"

oh look, it's my cousin who knows nothing about the situation but thought of it as something inappropriate so he decided to involve himself. i felt a smile making its way on my face, as the rumble between uzui-san and the girls had frozen while they stared at tanjiro dumbfoundedly.

"IT'S A KIDNAPPING! SAVE THEM!"

"YOU DUMB LITTLE BRAT!"

"KYAAAAA!!!"

suddenly tanjiro appeared in front of uzui-san. getting his forehead ready to smash the skull of his opponent but unfortunately for him uzui-san is a high-leveled pillar that does not fall for simple tricks like that and so he had vanished from the situation and appeared on top of the gate.

uzui-san introduced himself flamboyantly while tanjiro refused to acknowledge him causing a fuel to occur between the two. lots of screaming echoed throughout the whole estate, and i merely stared upon the scene with amusement, quite enjoying the trouble uzui-san is going through.

"NAHO ISN'T A HUNTERS MEMBER, SHE ISN'T WEARING A UNIFORM!"

"don't need her then."

uzui-san tossed naho making me sweat-drop at
