πππππππ ππππ'π ππππ what to do in this tricky situation. But now that she had called him late that evening she knew a visit to come see him was the only thing necessary. She had to speak to him face to face to see what her decision would be. Would she choose to be with Miguel a man she still loved but
constantly showed that he had no trust or faith in her whatsoever. Or Isabella a friend that would possibly help her become successful in her life but then again could lead to her gaining enemies, enemies that would be impossible to defeat on her own. Anyone could see that this was not easy for Estella. Whether she liked it or not, she was involved with criminals and a life of crime and needed to make her choices wisely for not only for her own benefit but now for her own life.
Miguel didn't even know what to say once he heard her words. He leaned back in his chair wondering if he was just very tired or that he had simply misheard.
"QuΓ© dijiste?" He questioned now standing to his feet putting out his cigarette, so he can concentrate on her words. Estella let out a sigh swallowing a gulp in her throat she had to be quiet knowing that Isabella was possibly still up and could easily hear this conversation.
"Quiero verte. Esta noche si es posible." Estella finally let out soon panicking once she didn't hear him answer back. This had been a huge mistake she told herself, but she couldn't control it. She needed to see him to be able to distinguish her feelings and perhaps know what she wanted with her life. Again she knew that Miguel's beloved empire was falling apart and that it was risky for him at this moment when gringos were involved but for some reason she had hope that things could be different. She knew that she sounded delusional, but this was her belief.
"Tonight? Isn't it a little late for that mija? Aren't you in Tijuana in Isabella's house?" He inquired lifting his eyebrows. Estella rolled her eyes knowing that he was right it was late but that didn't mean she couldn't still see him.
"Yes I know it's on short notice but it's very...important. I'll probably be there until morning. So how does that sound?" Estella bit her lip while she stood up to look outside her window to see that her driver had left but she had no worries since she had her own car now. Personal drivers were always much more efficient and protected them more when it came to danger. But now she would risk it and take her car to drive herself to meet with Miguel.
"Well...okay. Estella you know I've missed you. I have changed I see Abril and Miguel Jr. more frequently. I can prove that I'm better if you just let me." He said with desperation in his voice. Estella wanted to believe him but she needed to hear him in person to see his facial expressions when saying such things. Miguel even if he didn't like to say it was a well-known liar and manipulator but Estella knew when he was lying to her it was a skill she had gained during her time living with him.
"We'll have to see then..." Estella whispered hanging up on the phone causing Miguel on the other line to bang the phone onto the table in anger. He lit up another cigarette stressing over why Estella would be coming over after their breakup. In all truth, he did miss her but then again he knew that she had lied when she said she hadn't been working with Isabella. Blanca had told him and that woman had no valid reason to lie about something like this. It did make sense too since Miguel knew how headstrong Estella was along with Isabella and that the pair would join forces to gain some sort of power.
Estella lit up a cigarette watching the smoke escape it. She stood there leaning against the window waiting for the right time to leave. She wasn't stupid and knew well enough that Isabella would find out in the morning that Estella had left but she wouldn't know where to. Besides if she encountered her in the middle of the hallway, it would be much harder to lie then. Estella knew that her friend had a sleeping schedule and usually didn't sleep that late.
With this information, she dug inside her closet picking something comfortable but also nice. Although she would never say it, she was certainly trying to appear good to Miguel. It was an instinct of hers, and she hated that since she had no intentions of doing anything else but talking to Miguel about their issues.
Once she had finished fixing her long hair and carefully doing her makeup, she grabbed her handbag and car keys slowly opening her bedroom door to reveal a dark long hallway. It was late and she saw that under Isabella's doorway it was dark meaning no light was on. She felt once again familiar with this experience recalling the days where she would sneak out the house with her sister SofΓa causing her to nearly cry over this realization that those days were over. She missed a lot from her home in Guadalajara but understood that this was life now and she had chosen it.
The cold air breeze of the night hit her once she stepped outside making her towards her car to hurry off in the direction of Miguel. She was worried on what the hell she would say once she stood in front of him. He seemed to genuinely care about her but not enough to the point where he would put her first before his business at least in her mind she believed that. But there was also a slight possibility she was completely wrong and that Miguel had changed into a better father to his two kids, a better man, and a probable future husband.

Pulling into Miguel's home after her somewhat long drive to his home was a relief, to say the least. She parked the car sighing while she looked out to see that the morning sun was out and that surprisingly Miguel's sicarios were hurrying off somewhere. Estella was confused seeing this not understanding why they would be leaving when Miguel promised to speak to her the night before.
"QuΓ© chingados..." Estella mumbled under her breath opening her car door to step out and place her black sunglasses over her eyes to avoid the bright morning sun. His men stared at her wondering why she would be back, but they wouldn't dare to question and instead continued with their initial tasks.
"Estella, you're here." Miguel stepped up to her while Estella lifted down her glasses with an aggravated glare. She looked around crossing her arms over her chest.
"What the hell is this? When I told you talk, I thought it would be actually talking and not you having your men take you to who knows where! I drove here for what?!" Estella exclaimed in frustration running her hand through her hair. Miguel pinched his eyebrows feeling sort of guilty for this but understood that he had to go to Nicaragua to speak to the CIA it was important and crucial but then again this could be his only chance to be able to get Estella's trust back.
"I didn't know that I had to make this trip it was sudden, but it's important." He spoke up avoiding eye contact with her. Estella scoffed ready to just turn back around and return to Tijuana.
"Where are you even going? Maybe you should let me know instead of letting me continue driving just for you to tell me you're leaving. I should have known this was a mistake this is probably some sign." Estella shook her head in disapproval while turning away back to her car. Miguel knew that the Nicaragua trip was crucial, but he couldn't let her go off without the opportunity to speak to her. He gently grabbed her arm, so she could face him.
"I'm going to Nicaragua...it's to talk to an agent who works for the CIA. I have to go right now but why not come with me so we can talk on the plane?" Miguel continued to hold her hands as Estella's couldn't directly look at him. She looked down at the ground thinking his question over but couldn't skip the fact that he was going to be speaking to some CIA agent. This was even worse than dealing with the DEA and now he getting himself involved after killing one of them.
"Nicaragua and the CIA?! I don't want to bring this up but...Kiki Camarena. You think there not going to hesitate to take your ass to the United States. You'll be arrested! You're crazy if you think I would come with you to support that." Estella lightly slapped his hand away her eyes widened by hearing all of this. She was able to handle a lot in this life, but this was another level of insane. Miguel shook his head mumbling curse words under his breath his hands on his hips.
"If you think I can't make them forget about Kiki Camarena with what I'm offering them then you definitely don't know me. I'm not stupid Estella I made this entire empire and know that I need something to convince them not to send my ass to the United States!" He shouted back defending his actions. Estella stood there her facial expression still being a stern one.
"Fine. I'll go with you since you're so eager to speak to me. But don't think this is automatically us getting back together." Estella said walking past him. Miguel nodded his head placing his glasses back on ready to speak to the CIA agent and even talking to Estella made him nervous. She had to be here for some important reason and he hoped it would be the reason he wanted it to be and not another that involved the information Blanca had given him.
The drive to where the plane awaited them was not a very long one but it was indeed an awkward one. It was silent and although Estella's face showed no emotion of fear, inside she was feeling frightened. Miguel was brave to even attempt to make this trip to Nicaragua to speak to the CIA. She didn't want him to get arrested and even though she trusted Miguel with his word there was no doubt that Miguel could end up in a prison cell in the United States. And she didn't want to be stuck in an interrogating room in the States either having to give up every single detail she knew about Miguel.
Once they made it to where the plane remained Miguel got out placing his hand out as a way to be respectful and help her out of the car. Estella glanced down at his hand and decided that it was only a respectable gesture. She took his hand carefully getting out of the car and brushing down her clothes to walk alongside him. In the corner of her eye, she would look at him seeing that he was dressed in an expensive grey suit and his usual costly sunglasses. He obviously looked handsome, and it was something she couldn't deny.
"Are you ready?" Miguel asked pointing to the steps of the plane. Estella sighed knowing that once she got onto that plane she would have to actually speak to Miguel and make her way to Nicaragua. She knew Isabella would probably be awake by now and that her trip to Nicaragua would make her return back to Tijuana much later that is if she returned, however.
"Yes. I'm already here so why not?" She let out a small laugh while stepping onto the plane. In the inside it had luxurious comfortable seating which was no surprise since it was Miguel and he was always going to have the best quality in his things. She sat down on one of the seats waving at Azul who kept quiet and did nothing but turn his head to rest his eyes. Miguel remained standing as the plane went into the air signifying that now she was actually making her way to Nicaragua and that her time in this plane would be stuck with Miguel.
"Do you want anything?" Miguel asked suggesting to the drinks but Estella quickly refused knowing that she wanted to get straight to the point.
"Hold on I'm doing something with these papers...then we can begin to talk." Miguel looked at her before turning around to work on whatever he needed to do. Estella leaned back in her seat thinking about the conversation she would have with him. Was she really going to get back with him or instead move on with her life? After about a long time with him organizing papers and other items Estella didn't realize he finally had time to talk.
"So what is it? Why would you call me in the middle of the night to ask to come see me? It has to be important, no?" Miguel sat in his seat while Estella glanced over at Azul to make sure he was sleeping. She didn't mind him but privacy was better when it came to conversations like this.
"Yes, it is important. I've been thinking about a lot Miguel." She began crossing her legs while leaning forward to meet his eye. He took off his sunglasses placing them to a nearby table and nodded his head still not understanding what she was getting at.
"We need to discuss our relationship," Estella said taking a sip from the cold glass of water next to her. Miguel almost seemed shocked but he was not surprised. He knew that Estella was clearly here to speak about them and nothing else. He didn't know how to respond to this carefully choosing his words inside his head.
"What are you suggesting Estella?"
"Miguel Γngel I think we both know what. However is it true what you said over the phone? Because I can't deal with the same person you were the last time." Estella stared at Miguel waiting for an answer and she knew that when he told her face to face she would know if he was telling the truth. Miguel was ready to tell her the truth to give her everything she wanted to hear. He did think he changed, but he wasn't certain if he had changed on everything.
"PatrΓ³n we have landed." The pilot shouted from his seat causing the short but nerve-wracking conversation come to an end. Estella wanted to yell at the pilot, despite it not being his fault but instead remained calm. She closed her eyes in frustration knowing that Miguel had to speak to a person who worked for the CIA which to her was still a crazy idea.
"I'm sorry but we have to go. We can talk about this on the way back okay?" Miguel stood up helping her up as well. She slowly nodded her head trying not to show that she was in fact disappointed by the short conversation. She needed to hear him explain and now she had to wait longer and even then she didn't know if there would be a later since Miguel could perhaps be arrested. She wasn't usually impatient, but this was different and the wait was something horrible to deal with.
After they stepped out of the plane, they were ordered to get in some car by some Nicaraguan soldier with a green uniform. She followed behind Miguel and Azul while she was instructed to sit in the backseat along with Azul while Miguel sat in front next to the driver. She looked around the vast area as the car began to move. She looked over at Azul seeing that he held a small briefcase that she assumed held what would convince the CIA agent not to simply arrest Miguel right then and there. Estella knew that Miguel was intelligent, and nobody could deny that but what if this time he couldn't pull it off? Kiki was American and he had been murdered because of Miguel's orders to do so.
They arrived at the destination they were supposed to be at seeing many soldiers running around the area. Estella stepped out of the car squinting at the sunlight that hit her face. She placed on her sunglasses following behind a soldier that had ordered them to follow him. Many stared as they walked through the area possibly wondering why they were here in the first place. Estella was a bit nervous knowing she appeared out of place being the only woman here but it is not like she had intended to be here at all in the first place.
"You're okay right?" Miguel looked at Estella as she walked next to him. She nodded her head with a small forced smile.
"Mr. FΓ©lix Gallardo." A random soldier walked up to Miguel grabbing his arm quickly causing Miguel to move away from him.
"Hey!" Miguel exclaimed in irritation and confusion on why the man would treat him with so much disrespect. Estella took steps back as she watched this happened.
Azul stepped in front of Miguel confronting the soldier who had touched him. Miguel looked back at Estella as a way to check up on her she gave him a slight nod of reassurance letting him know she was completely fine.
"Relax. He's just going to pat him down." Another soldier stepped in to clarify why the other had grabbed him. Miguel now understood and allowed the other man to step in and pat him down to check for any weapons.
"You like killing Americans, Pancho, huh?" The man said in English while he patted down confirming there was nothing there.
"All right follow me." One of the soldiers said specifically telling Miguel. Estella followed behind him avoiding the eye contact of any of the intimidating soldiers.
She felt a hand block her from passing through also along with Azul.
"Hey, just him." The man notified the two that they weren't allowed. Estella looked at Miguel not wanting to stay alone in this place surrounded by soldiers. That would be uncomfortable and not to mention the lingering curiosity Estella had to hear what Miguel had to offer the CIA.
"She has to come with me you can pat her down too. Azul hand me that you stay here it's okay." Miguel told the soldier who nodded his head assuming that Estella wouldn't even be any harm. He patted her down leaving Estella slightly uncomfortable but once it was confirmed she had no weapons she stood next to Miguel.
Walking through the large unfamiliar area was strange catching glimpses from the nearby soldiers. Estella couldn't help but feel a little nervous about watching the meeting with the CIA agent but thought it would be best to accompany him. She felt a bit impressed by how Miguel had spoken up to have her come along with him. It was one thing that showed that perhaps he was beginning to trust her with certain information.
"Wait where are you taking us?" Miguel questioned stepping in front of Estella. She looked past his shoulder wondering why he was so hesitant to follow the soldier. She then saw the cause of his worry and realized it was a large plane. Of course, she thought to herself knowing that a plane can easily take them to the United States where Miguel would be detained while Estella would be forced to answer questions.
"To the airplane." The man responded.
"No, no. No way I'm getting in there." Miguel argued once again his words coming out with a stutter showing that he was nervous.
"Sir is there any other place where they can meet? A plane is not exactly what we were thinking." Estella told the soldier as she looked around waiting for an answer. Even she knew that getting inside that plane could be the worst decision of their lives and she had no desire to commit such a stupid choice.
"Like what she said...there isn't any other place? I'd rather stay out here." Miguel insisted again pointing to where they stood. Estella nodded her head while looking at the soldier.
"He's traveling through, about to take off in ten minutes." The man informed, but this didn't make the pair feel any better. Miguel and Estella both knew they shouldn't get on that plane.
"I'm not getting aboard."
"You talk on that plane, or not at all." The soldier explained to the two warning that there would be no other opportunity if they didn't get on. Estella looked up at Miguel who nodded his head in a way to tell her
