Daniella jolted awake, hearing a snap of a branch. Her shot forward, sitting up from her slumber, waking the deer that slept beside her. Her head snapped around in different directions, alarmed and somewhat frightful of what was lurking in the now, very dark forest.

She looked up at the night sky. She had slept on the grass hours until it became dark. The deer's ears perked up. He stood up, standing in front of the merfolk, looking at whatever or whoever was or is in the trees.

"Ella!" Jacob's voice carried out through the trees, making her flinch and relax in relief. Seeing it safe, the deer bowed before galloping away into the darkness, leaving no trace of himself.

She sighed before getting up and brushing off the dirt that stuck to her pants. "Here!" she called out, skin slightly tinted in a shade of dirt brown.

Jacob appeared, popping out of a bush, making Daniella shriek in surprise. She sighed once again, clutching her chest. He rushed towards her and enveloped her in a tight hug. "I thought you went missing." he muttered into her hair as she wrapped her pale arms around his torso.

"I fell asleep, sorry." she apologized, pulling back from his warm hug. He shot her a small reprimanding look. "Well, you almost gave me a heart attack. You're lucky that Billy isn't back." he scolded before they started their walk back towards the house.

"My fault. Sorry, again." she softly replied, jumping over a big root that grew out of the soil. He hummed slowly, seeming as if he didn't believe her before sighing.

"It's fine. Just tell me next time." he finished as he followed her through the dark forest towards his house, not questioning how she knew the way.

It was just another day. Daniella wanted it peaceful to say the least, but Jacob dragged her where she was right now.

In front of the female she had seen the day before, being ushered by Jacob to meet her. She simply blinked with no emotion as she scanned Bella's out stretched hand, waiting for a shake.

'I thought we only shake hands with people you are pleased to meet . . .' she blankly thought before bringing up her hand and shaking it before hastily taking back her hand. Bella smiled awkwardly, hand dropping to her side as she stared at the white beauty in front of her.

Daniella's hair was plaited, swirling into a bun, still leaving waved of hair behind. Two locks of hair framed both sides of her face, complimenting the hairstyle. She wore a black shirt, ripped jeans and a white cardigan. It was simple, but the effortless clothes put together made her look more elegant, along with her poised body and straight stance.

Daniella let out an inaudible sigh before looking towards the lovestruck fool, more of a fool than herself. "May I go?" she asked politely, tone tight, as if it were forced.

Jacob, who watched the weird, unpleasant interaction, wordlessly nodded. She turned on her heel and marched out of the garage, not wanting to spend even a minute of her time around Bella.

Even though they had just met, she hated rivals. Rivals for the person she loves and she wasn't going to stick around and watch their interaction unfold. Jealousy would bloom and she didn't want that.

Jacob smiled lightly towards Bella, who had a look of disbelief masking her features. "What's up with her?" she asked with squinted eyes.

Jacob chuckled nervously. "She doesn't know you yet, it'll take time." he reassured, lying to himself. Truth be told, he didn't have an idea of why Daniella was so cold. It was so different of Daniella to be that distant.

Blue-purplish eyes glinted in the sunlight. She was in the small clearing once again, the deer beside her. She had met him again when she entered the forest and they took a stroll. "What do you think of love, Gyu?" she asked the deer she had named minutes ago.

The deer huffed in response, making Daniella nod, as if understanding him. "That is true. It is weird." she whispered, looking down at him. She smiled softly as they crossed the clearing and to the other side of it.

From everyone, Gyu was the only friend that stayed and listened. Her human friends were all too busy and had almost no time to spare for spending time together, so she took the initiative to explore the human world while she could, which she didn't know.
