Summary: Meeting both Harry and Marv after they try to rob our house

Words: 3.1k words

My family was planning a really big trip to Paris for Christmas this year. I wasn't looking forward to it because I always preferred staying home for Christmas. It was the day before we left. The entire house was absolutely crazy. Everyone was running around and looking for their things, then getting upset that someone else doesn't know where it is. I would call this normal behavior for my family. Except the creepy police officer downstairs changed my mind. This day would be normal if this police officer didn't let himself into our house. I didn't like the way he looked at me. I didn't wanna go downstairs even when uncle Frank walked into the kitchen carrying pizza boxes. When my youngest brother Kevin went downstairs, I took the chance to rush down there myself. I felt his eyes watching me when I walked past. He even tried talking to me. But I just ignored him and rushed into the kitchen. Buzz was standing beside the boxes of pizza, seeming to just swallow another piece of pizza... right next to an empty box of cheese pizza. "Are you serious?" I groaned, "What?" He laughed in my face, "Upset?" He laughed even harder. Kevin appeared beside me. Then he pushed Buzz onto the kitchen counter; which caused milk to be spilled all over everyone's passports. Kevin proceeded to rant about how he hated the other pizza. "Look what you did you little jerk." Uncle Frank said to him. Mom grabbed Kevin's arm and pulled him out of the kitchen while I followed behind them. I almost regretted following them when Mom stopped to talk to the creepy police officer. She handed the pizza delivery guy some cash while talking to the officer. Something along the lines of Kevin misbehaving. I wasn't really paying attention. But every once in a while the officer would keep looking at me before looking back at Mom. Then just before I left; he smiled at me to show a single gold tooth. Shivers ran down my spine. Soon enough I ended up walking away before Mom even finished talking to him.

As the next morning arrived. I was left to find out that my entire family left me and Kevin behind. Instead of being mad or worried about them leaving us. I actually felt really happy. Because I was pissed off at my family at the moment. And I just needed some time to myself, and I'm sure Kevin felt the same way. Everything was going well. Until me and Kevin were walking back from the store one afternoon. He had accidentally stolen a toothbrush from the store due to our neighbor, Marley appearing beside him. He's always been scared of our neighbor. I wasn't. I just believed that he's misunderstood.

But while looking down at Kevin and talking to him about the incident. Something unexpected happened. The sound of someone screaming, "Watch out!" Which was then followed by the sound of tires screeching. I stumbled backwards while Kevin just screamed. After gaining my balance and standing back beside Kevin; that's when I got a good look at these strangers. The driver looked really familiar to me. I couldn't quite grasp where I've seen him before. Oh, but the guy in the passenger seat. Time was frozen. He was staring at both me and my brother. With those gorgeous blue eyes. That beautiful curly brown hair. The way he smiled. "Santy don't visit the funeral homes, little buddy." The attractive one said, "Okay, Merry Christmas." Then the driver smiled at both me and Kevin. Except when he smiled at us; a single golden tooth sparkled brightly. Kevin also seemed spooked. So he grabbed my arm and yanked me into the road where we started walking again. My memory was failing me. I knew I had seen that golden tooth before, I know I have... I was stopped when I noticed that Kevin had turned around. The same van that almost ran us over was following us. Both of the men inside pretended to look occupied once we looked at them. I forced Kevin to turn back around and start walking again. "Modesta, we should run." He suddenly whispered to me, "What, why?" I displayed a confused expression, "Those guys, Modesta. We can't let them find out where we live." He responded followed by me nodding in response, "But where would we go?" I looked down at him, "We can hide in the church's Christmas decorations." He answered. I nodded and started running along with Kevin. Once we were hidden; they reappeared. Both of them looked confused. The attractive one rolled down the window to get a better look. At that moment I would be lying if I didn't say I fell even harder for him at that exact moment. The way he looked, oh god... I'm already gaining feelings for a complete stranger. Afterwards the both of us returned home after the strangers left.

Both me and Harry were sitting in our van. I contemplated that girl we saw the other day. She just looked so beautiful. But now she probably thinks I'm a creep for trying to follow her home. Her hair matched her face perfectly. There was no other way I could possibly describe the beauty of her face. "Marv!" I felt Harry hit me, "Huh?" I looked at him, "Look." He pointed out the windshield. And there she was. That same girl I saw the other day. It looked as if she was carrying grocery bags. And she was all alone too. "Go get her." Harry suddenly said, "What do you mean?" I backed up a little in shock, "She's that little kid's sister. You think he'll notice if she goes missing? That'll give us the opportunity to break into that house." Harry responded, "Alright, fine." I unbuckled and climbed out the van. Nobody will notice since everyone in the neighborhood is probably on Christmas vacation. She was too busy listening to music anyway. My hand clasped over her mouth. She dropped the bags and soon passed out in my arms. I smiled at her beautiful face for a split second before lifting her up in my arms. Then I heard the sound of a crunching sound. After looking underneath my foot I noticed that I had accidentally broken her glasses. She wouldn't mind... hopefully. I laid her carefully in my lap after getting back inside the van. But I also noticed how hard Harry was staring at me. "What?" I asked, "Don't do anything stupid." He responded while still glaring at me, "What do you mean?" I looked back down at her limp body before glancing back up at Harry, "You know what I mean." Harry snarled. A confused look spread out across my face. Harry has never been this mad or annoyed towards me before. Why now? Don't tell me he also likes her. Because I'm sure she'd choose someone who actually has hair. The thought made me laugh quietly to myself.

I woke up to a massive headache. But wherever I was, it definitely wasn't my bedroom. When I opened my eyes: it was dark and it also felt like someone was holding onto me. I was too scared to move or look around. Whoever they were, I definitely didn't want them knowing that I was awake. But I was sitting next to a car window; it was pitch black outside. All I could remember was that I was walking home from the store the other afternoon when someone kidnapped me. Goosebumps covered every inch of my body. I couldn't help myself when my whole body started to tremble. There were arms wrapped around me. After a few minutes I heard someone snoring, well, two people snoring actually. That lets me know that there's at least two other people in the vehicle with me. I sat up and looked around. The street lights illuminated the person's face that was holding onto me. And oh boy I was completely shocked at who it was; it was that handsome stranger that followed me and Kevin the other day. So that must mean that I'm sitting in their van. I looked to my left and saw the other guy who I thought looked familiar. For a second I almost thought that I could escape from them. Except I didn't know if they were heavy sleepers or not. But I so badly wanted to see Kevin because I knew for a fact that he was worried to death about me. Especially with these creeps who probably wanted to rob our house. I carefully reached for his arm and dropped it down beside the passenger seat. Then I proceeded to reach for the door handle beside me. The door wouldn't budge. At this exact moment I completely forgot that I was trapped inside a van with two complete strangers who probably had bad intentions. I yanked on the door handle as hard as I possibly could. "Hey, hey, hey!" A voice shouted before I felt hands tightening around me, "Marv? What's going on?" I heard another voice from nearby, "She's trying to escape." Marv responded to his friend. "Let me go, y-you creeps!" I screamed while desperately trying to open the passenger door, "Hey, calm down a second sweetheart, would ya?" The guy in the driver's seat spoke up. I stared intensely at him. "We aren't going to hurt you." He continued, "Then why did you kidnap me?" I stuttered out, "So we could get inside your house without your little brother there." He laughed in my face. "You little shit, you better leave my brother alone!" I screamed as I was squirming in Marv's grasp, "That's some strong words." He laughed. Soon all of this confidence I had just a second ago went down the drain. All of my bottled up anger switched to fear and sadness.

I suddenly started crying. Both of them seemed shocked. "Hey, don't worry. Everything is gonna be okay." Marv started rubbing my back while I cried into his chest. "Marv, the fuck are you doing?" The other one sounded angry, "What? I'm comforting her." He sounded confused at his friend's sudden anger, "Why are you the one that gets to hold her?" He slammed his hand onto the dashboard. I jumped lightly. "Because, you're the one who told me to kidnap her in the first place!" Marv responded to him, "Give her to me then!" He shouted. Soon Marv picked me up and gave me to his friend. I missed the comfort of Marv. I liked Marv more than I did his friend. I started to wonder why the both of them started fighting over me. It could be that maybe both of them like me. Except I liked Marv way more than his friend. Shivers ran down my spine once I felt his gloved hand running through my hair. "God, you're so beautiful." I heard him whisper loud enough for only me to hear. My face started heating up. But I knew that I liked Marv more.

Some time passed and these strangers still wouldn't let me go. I knew my parents would be worried sick if they came back from vacation to find out I'm missing. And it hurt me to know how scared Kevin was right now. They never even let me out of their sight for a single second. I would only sit in their crowded van all day. But they'd still buy me breakfast, lunch and dinner. At least I knew they weren't kidnapping me just to treat me like shit. Except the times when they would argue over who gets to hold me. That just let me know that the both of them liked me. Except I knew the time when I would have to choose between one of them. And that time was now.

They forced me to go with them inside while they were robbing a house. Mostly because they didn't trust me being alone in their van for too long. One of them always had to be watching me; whether it would be either Harry or Marv. But once Harry left outside and it was just me and Marv, I took the opportunity. He was standing in the bedroom of the house we were robbing, dumping random things into a bag with his crowbar. "Hey, uhm, Marv-" I started to fidget with my fingers, "Yeah?" He turned around and smiled at me with a goofy looking smile. It practically made my heart melt at the sight. "Can I tell you something?" I approached him, "Sure." He threw his bag over his shoulder, "I know that both you and Harry like me. But I prefer you over him." I looked up at him, "W-Wait, really?" He walked closer to me, "Yeah." I felt my face heating up from the closeness. He set down his bag on the bed nearby before resting one of his gloved hands on the side of my face. "And I know Harry is probably going to be mad-" I sighed, "Don't worry about him. He can deal with it." Marv laughed lightly as his face inched closer to me, "Just kiss me now and forget everything." He whispered. I could feel his hot breath against my lips. "Okay." I smiled before closing the gap between our lips. His mustache tickled my upper lip. But I didn't care. I've longed for this moment for as long as I can remember. At this point I never even knew that Harry was standing in the doorway of the bedroom me and Marv were standing in. Neither of us even noticed because our eyes were closed. But I definitely did when I heard the sound of a door slamming closed. "Wait here." I said to Marv before rushing outside after Harry.

"Hey, hey-" I stopped him before he could get in the front seat of the van, "What do you want?" He snapped at me, "Look, I'm sorry." I sighed as tears started to fill up my eyes, "You're sorry? You knew I liked you too but you still kissed Marv." Harry practically shouted in my face just as I was sent back from his sudden outburst. Tears pricked at my eyes. "Just let me explain-" I spoke up, "No." He simply said. Causing me to fall onto my knees and burst into tears. That's what made Harry start to feel bad. He kneeled down beside me, "No, Modesta don't cry-" I felt his hand rubbing my back, "This happens every time I try to apologize to someone. This is how I lose every person who comes into my life." I said between tears. Marv appeared beside me and also started to comfort me. "What did you do to her, Harry?" For the first time ever Marv actually sounded really pissed off, "None of your business." Harry said to him. "Modesta, can you look at me?" Harry asked as he raised my chin up with his gloved hand. "Nobody said that we were going to leave you, got it?" He stared into my eyes while I just slowly nodded in response, "I didn't mean to shout at you." Harry sighed, "If you want to be with Marv instead, I won't stop you." He continued just as I noticed the single tear that was rolling down his face. "Harry, please don't take it personally. I still think of you as a friend." I answered, "I know." Harry responded. Marv helped me up and led me back inside their van. Although Harry convinced me that he understood about me choosing Marv over him, I still felt horrible. Because I know how Harry must feel right now; loving somebody that you can't even have. It's been a while but I've felt that feeling before. To make him feel better I'm still going to hangout with him and consider him as my friend. I found it quite strange that I was kidnapped by these strangers and now I can't even live without them.

They decided to take me back home after being missing for nearly a week. As long as I promised not to tell the cops. And that I'd still hangout with them. Something I already planned on doing since me and Marv were practically already dating. I knew my family had already come home when I saw movement and the sounds of my siblings inside the house. But because of Harry and Marv kidnapping me, I wasn't able to spend Christmas with my family. Instead I was stuck inside their van listening to them bicker back and forth over the slightest things. Except for a moment I felt that that was better than spending Christmas with my family. Because I've grown attached to the two idiots. I stood on the doorstep. Breathing heavily. I knew I was going to be questioned once I stepped through this door. I knocked and then waited. The front door swung open to reveal Dad. "Oh my God-" He dropped his coffee mug and pulled me into a tight embrace. All the commotion led to my whole family appearing in the entrance. "Modesta, oh my God!" I heard Mom shout before she also hugged me. Kevin seemed quite suspicious though. Because me and him were the only ones who knew about Harry and Marv. Unless he had already told the family about it. If they'd even believe him. "What on earth happened to you?" Mom ushered me inside before closing the front door, "It's a long story." I breathed out, "Did they hurt you?" Her eyes scanned my body, "No." I answered. The thought of them hurting me sounded so farfetched. I know that neither of them even like the thought of that. "Oh thank goodness." She proceeded to hug me again, "Would you mind telling us who had kidnapped you?" She asked, "I-" I stuttered out. I didn't wanna tell her who really did it. Because I made a promise with both of them that I wouldn't tell anyone about the incident. "I can't remember what they look like. I don't know their names either." I lied, "Oh-" Mom sighed. Afterwards I just went upstairs to my bedroom and took a much needed nap. It felt weird sleeping in my bed after a week. Because I used to have to sleep on either Harry or Marv's lap. Since there weren't exactly any other seats in that van besides the other two. But I didn't really mind having to sleep in Marv's lap. I actually quite enjoyed it. And I'd also enjoy it if he were here with me right now. Even if I had already just seen him a few minutes ago.
