Summary: Marv accidentally climbs through the wrong window
Words: 1.6k words
It was late at night and I knew I should've let myself fully wake up before I snuck into Modesta's house. Tonight it seemed to be more dark outside than usual, but I was still determined to go see her. I climbed up the house where I saw lights turned on since I knew she always had her lights on even at night. I yanked open the window without even peeking inside at first, then swung one of my legs inside. "Modesta?" I looked around at my new surroundings, just now realizing that this wasn't Modesta's room. The bedroom swung open and some girl with pale blonde hair appeared in the doorway. "MOM! THERE'S A STRANGER IN MY ROOM!" She screamed, "Wait, no!" I held up my hands. "Shit." I tried pulling my leg out the window, except it was caught in something. Loud footsteps were approaching the room and I was becoming more and more nervous. After yanking hard enough, I fell out the window and from the second floor. I groaned in pain before rolling around in the snow. "Damnit, I wish I paid more attention." I continued to lay in the snow until someone peeked out the window. It looked like Modesta's Mom, and by the look on her face, she sure did see me laying in the snow. "Honey!" She called out. My eyes widened and I quickly scurried to my feet and ran off while the cramp in my leg became progressively worse. I ran to the van and slammed the passenger door closed. "What the hell are you running for?" Harry asked me, "I accidentally climbed through the wrong window." I breathed heavily. "You probably won't be able to see Modesta anymore because of how stupid you are." Harry mumbled to himself.

I was laying in bed when I heard my sister screaming about someone being in her room. I quickly slammed my book closed and got to her room about the same time Mom did. Except there was no one there, but Mom approached the window and looked completely shocked. "Honey!" She called for Dad. I pushed past her and looked out the window to see Marv running off. Don't tell me he just went through the wrong window. Dad ran into the room just before Marv disappeared into the darkness. "What happened?" He pushed past me to look out the window, "There was a stranger climbing through my window." My sister stated. "And for some reason I heard him call out Modesta's name." She continued. I stood frozen in fear from the reaction I knew Dad was about to have. Both Mom and Dad looked in my direction once she said that. "Oh come on! It could've been anyone!" I laughed nervously, "Then how did they know your name?" Dad asked, "Probably someone from school, I guess." I shrugged. "He looked like he was in his 3os." My sister spoke up again, "Can you shut up just for a second?" I groaned in annoyance. They both continued to stare at me with a disappointed expression. "Go to your room, now. We'll discuss this in the morning." Dad said. I facepalmed before leaving and going to the third floor where my room was. Now I was in huge trouble just because Marv accidentally climbed through the wrong window. I was definitely going to lecture him about it the next time I see him. I just know that I'm gonna be in serious trouble the next morning, who knows if Marv will ever be able to sneak into my house again. The next morning arrived and my parents had most definitely not forgotten about last night's incidents. "Now, be honest with me." Dad started, "Do you know who that was?" He looked me dead in the eyes, "It could be anyone, I don't even know what they look like." I shrugged. Just then my sister who saw him appeared into the kitchen with Mom. "Okay, so can you describe what he looked like?" Mom looked towards my sister as she spoke. "He was like, really tall. He had brown curly hair-" My eyes widened when I knew it was most definitely Marv. "Modesta." Dad turned towards me, "Uh-huh." I smiled nervously, "Does that sound familiar?" He asked me.
I stood there for a couple seconds until a thought came to mind. "Can I just think this over a little more? It's hard to think when everyone is staring at me." I asked, "Fine." Dad sighed before stepping aside to let me go back upstairs to my room. I looked around my room, then my eyes landed on my bedroom window. "Fuck it, I'm doing it." I put on my shoes and a jacket before opening my bedroom window. The cold air outside immediately chilled my body without me even having to step outside. There was still snow freshly covering the backyard, not a speck of grass or dirt showing. It wouldn't be that hard of a fall if I just jumped out the window. I took a deep breath and leaped outside into the soft snow. "Now to find Marv." I stood up and brushed the snow off my pants. I stood at the edge of the driveway, scanning my neighborhood to see if I could spot their plumbing van. Just then I saw the pale blue van in the distance, parked alongside the sidewalk. "Perfect." I started walking down the sidewalk towards their van. From where I was standing it looked like Marv and Harry were arguing over something, typical. Marv was the first one to spot me approaching their van. His first instinct was to abruptly stop the argument and leave the passenger seat of the van. "Babe!" He rushed over to me, "I've been meaning to talk to you about something." I crossed my arms as I stared up at him, "If it's about last night, I'm sorry." He begged. A slight smile appeared on my face before I responded, "It is, now I'm in trouble. My parents talked about getting a better security system for our house." I sighed knowing he wouldn't be able to sneak into my house anymore. "Shit, it's all my fault." Marv held his head in frustration, "No it's not. It may seem like it is, but I love you too much to blame it on you." I grabbed his arm and pulled it away from his face. I saw a slight smile breaking out onto Marv's face, then he suddenly pulled me into a tight embrace. "Thank you for not yelling at me, Harry kept saying you were going to." Marv said while I just laughed lightly, "I would hate myself for the rest of the week if I yelled at you." I answered.
Sometime that night after my parents had finished setting up the new security system, including motion sensor lights in the backyard where my bedroom window was located. If I really wanted to see Marv, I would either have to sneak him inside some other way, or sneak out myself to see him. My only option to sneak him inside would be through the front door, but then again my parents made the security system more advanced. So I went sneaking outside through one of the windows on the first floor. I knew that if one of these security systems went off right now, I would be dead by morning. I slipped into the soft snow and quietly closed the window before slowly walking through the squishy snow. His van was parked nearby just like we discussed earlier today. Both him and Harry were busy talking inside to even notice me approaching the van, close enough for me to hear their conversation. "If you know her family has a lot of security, why are you even with her? You can barely see her, let alone now since you climbed through the wrong window." Harry spoke up. His words almost broke my heart into a million pieces. I knew he hated me but I didn't know he hated me that much. "I don't give a fuck! I'm not dating her because she lives in a big house and has a rich family, I'm with her because I'm in love! I love everything about her and I'd do absolutely anything just to see her. And you aren't going to change my mind about that." Marv replied. Those words dung deep into my heart and made me forget about what Harry said a moment ago. "Whatever you say." Harry mumbled to himself. That's when the both of them noticed me standing nearby within hearing range. Harry rolled down his window, "You heard that, didn't you?" He asked me, I just slowly nodded my head. "But you heard what I said, right?" Marv leaned over to look out Harry's window. I smiled, "Yes, I did Marv." His smile grew even bigger. Marv quickly climbed out the van and ran over to me, pulling me in a tight hug and lifting me up. Then he started to spin with me still in his arms. "I can't believe you'd get in trouble with your parents for me." Marv said, "Of course I would." I smiled just as he finally set me down. He helped me into the van where Harry just drove around town and talked. While Harry seemed to be being nicer to me than usual.
