Having friends was nice!
Yun's friend would help him leave the house without his mother finding out, and they'd go flying in starskiffs together!
Today's little outing brought them to the outskirts of the Divination Commission, Side Character 27190 had insisted on seeing the Matrix of Prescience after overhearing that a Stellaron Hunter would be there.
Yun sat peacefully as his friend navigated the Starskiff, a smile on his face as he stared out at the clear sky. What a nice day... nothing could ruin this.
Sure, there was a loud commotion a few seconds ago, but Yun was sure it wasn't anything catastrophicβ
There was a loud THUD and the Starskiff shook, causing Yun to blink and look out curiously. There, on the front of the starskiff, was y/n.
The Foxian boy recognized her immediately as her and some strange man tussled... wait a second, wasn't it that dude from those wanted posters?
Y/n paused, trying to gouge her fingers in the dude's eyes while he was trying to keep her hand away. She glanced into the Starskiff and froze up when she saw Yun.
"Oh... hi!" she greeted awkwardly.
"H-Hi..." Yun greeted, unsure of how to feel.
"Mind asking your friend to fly us up? I don't like fighting in the air." y/n hummed, grabbing the man's sword with her bare hand before it could stab her, causing blood to go flying, "You πer, I wasn't paying attention!"
Yun flinched each time the woman and the man traded blows, but urged his friend to fly them up to where they could drop the duo on solid ground.
Yun watched as his friend flew the fighting duo over to some solid ground, dropped them off, and continued watching as they flew away.
It was kind of like watching a cat fight.
Y/n was the first to back off, needing a moment to gather herself after that stomach wrenching Starskiff ride she'd just gotten.
Blade backed off as well, watching her carefully as she took a moment to rest her hands on her hips and let out a puff of air.
"Whew... that was wild." she muttered before glancing back at the Stellaron Hunter, "Ew, another bird's nest for hair... does nobody take care of their hair these days?"
"You're one to talk, you smell like π©." he retorted and y/n gasped, covering her mouth with a look of shock.
"You... you... YOU MOTHERπER!"
"I've πed no mothers."
"I DON'T SMELL LIKE π©, I SMELL LIKE THAT FILTHY IMMORTALITY OBSESSED PLEB WHO TRIED TO KILL ME OVER SOME GRUDGE I DON'T EVEN REMEMBER!!!" y/n snapped back, pointing an accusing finger at the uninterested Stellaron Hunter, "YOU ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU REEK! TAKE A SHOWER AND COMB YOUR HAIR! I BET YOU'VE GOT FLEAS AND LICE PROCREATING IN THAT MESS, GET CLEANED UP AND THEN I'LL FIGHT YOU!!!"
Blade blinked, 'This nut job is the one I was warned about?' he scrutinized the woman as she shouted at him, the man tuning out everything she was saying, 'It can't be. She's too much of a loud mouth to be that dangerous... no, it's no good to underestimate opponents. I should know better than that.'
Ah. She was gone.
She was gone!
Blade brought up his sword to defend himself as y/n closed the distance between the two of them. Her broken sword collided with his which was filled with cracks, only for her to gut check him when he wasn't looking.
Right. Kafka did say she liked hand to hand combat.
The Stellaron Hunter gritted his teeth, bracing for what came next just as that echo of light appeared behind the woman. Greatsword ready, poised to strike, held by a familiar figure. How odd, it resembled this brat in a way. But how...
Blade didn't get much time to ponder over it as the sword was thrust into his gut, y/n cringing when she got smacked in the face with blood.
"π©! Dude! Why are you bleeding so much!?" y/n demanded as she recoiled, trying to brush blood from her eyes.
As y/n was complaining and trying to rid blood from her face, Blade kind of stood there and stared at the spot where y/n had literally blown his back out.
He was a little light headed, a wound like that would do that to you, but still. He was rather curious about this nut job's way of fighting. She punched with a fist, but struck like a greatsword.
Blade wondered what else she could do.
He didn't have time to waste on her, though, so he needed to get going. Preferably while she was complaining about the blood in her eye.
The Stellaron Hunter turned and began to walk away, albeit a little slowly due to the damn hole y/n had punched in him, but his attempt at fleeing didn't go unnoticed.
"Hey, you can't just run awayβπ©!"
Y/n slipped and caught a look of you're πing joking on the man's face right before she barreled into him. Their skulls collided, hard enough to kill a normal person, and the both of them were sent toppling over the edge again.
Huh. Things just weren't going well for her today.
She did make it back.
Just... not in a very good condition.
"Y/n! What happened to you, are you alright?"
"I'm fine Mr. Yang, just a few injuries."
A few?
Caelus, Tingyun and March all gave y/n concerned looks as she stood in front of the older man who was checking on her, trying to figure out where exactly the excessive bleeding from her head was coming from.
She was holding onto one of her arms as though it were causing her pain, but Caelus could tell it was pretty serious from the heavy blood flow seeping past her fingers. Yeowch, that had to hurt-!
There were tears in her clothing stained with red from where she'd clearly been cut, but it was clear that her and the Stellaron Hunter had been throwing punches too. Y/n certainly hadn't been holding back, her knuckles were πed up.
"Sorry, Kafka got away... I fought with that Blade dude but he still got away." she murmured, wiping blood from her nose and flashing her companions a grin, "πed him up real good, though, and if you can't track him by the blood trail left behind, I got his scent practically stuck in my nose. So, I'd say this is a win!"
"A win? Y/n, your arm looks like it'll fall off if you let go of it." March stated and y/n tightened her grip on the arm with a nervous look.
"No it won't." 'Please shut the π up.' the h/c haired woman scrunched up her face when Welt wiped some of the blood away from her head and nose with a little handkerchief, "Hey, Mr. Yang, I'm fine!"
"That isn't something that someone should be saying if their legs are trembling." the man replied.
Y/n's legs were indeed trembling. Violently.
She was really pushing herself to the limits and desperately needed to rest even for just an hour or soβ also, Welt had just touched her face. She could die happy!
"My legs aren't trembling." y/n stated immediately.
"I'm not blind, y/n." Welt sighed before glancing at the trio who were waiting, "You all continue on ahead. I'd like to make sure y/n is okay first."
"Butβ" Caelus began only for March to grab him by the back of his hoodie and begin dragging him, "Nooo!"
Tingyun offered y/n a smile as she trailed after the duo, and it wasn't until they disappeared from sight that y/n's legs finally gave out and she almost dropped to the ground, Welt being the only thing keeping her from completely folding like a fold up chair.
Holy π©, she was exhausted!
She wasn't used to not being lazy for this long!
She'd been working overtime for hoursβ no, days!
Was she forgetting something?
'Dumbπ, breathe!' she reminded herself as she took quick, labored breaths, 'Holy π©, just standing took so much out of me! When can I get a break?!'
Welt offered y/n his hand and she took it, holding it in a tight grip as she gathered herself. She was in a lot of pain, not enough to make her π go mara-struck again, but enough to make her want to cry.
"Sorry, Mr. Yang..." she said breathlessly, "I'm not... well, right now. Just need a moment... to collect myself...!"
"Don't apologize, just rest." the assured her, taking her hand and checking on her knuckles. They weren't broken, nothing was seriously damaged, but they were bloody and a little bruised. Perhaps it was a good thing that was all she'd ended up with.
It could've been worse. Way worse.
"Will you be able to heal?"
"If I take some time to nap, yeah."
"Right, then we know what you'll be doing after this, hm?" Welt replied as he helped y/n stand upright again.
"Wh...what...? But Mr.Yang, what about you?" she questioned with a look of distress, "The Ambrosial Arbor... if it's suddenly grown again, who knows what kind of dangers are running around!"
"We'll be fine, y/n. I'll protect March and Caelus, if that's what you're worried about. I promise." the man insisted, but the fear in y/n's eyes still remained.
She shook her head, "No... no! Who will protect you? And who will protect the person protecting you? It's too risky, just let me go with you guys!"
"You need to restβ"
"I can't rest!" y/n blurted, internally cursing herself for interrupting the man, "I can't rest knowing you guys could be getting mauled by something while I'm laying around! If I'm going to rest, I'd rather be with you all while I rest! That way, I can get mauled instead!"
"WhβWho said anything about being mauled?!" Welt demanded as y/n starting to pull herself away to hobble in the direction where March and Caelus had gone, "Y/n! What are you even talking about?!"
"Who knows what kinda of crazy π© is running around out there... too dangerous... gotta protect you all..." she was mumbling as she stumbled away.
Holy cow, she'd lost it.
'She's only running on fumes yet she's still trying to stay with us.' Welt thought as y/n took a little break to lean against a wall for a moment before continuing to trudge away. He let out a sigh, walking after her, "Alright, you can come along. But if anything happens, let me handle it, okay?"
Y/n gave him a look of relief, "Thank you..."
She was tired. Too tired.
Her wounds weren't healing, and she could barely keep her eyes open. Not to mention, the present reality and what she'd experienced on the hellish excuse for a planet were beginning to mesh together again.
Now that she thought about it, why was she worried about her friends getting mauled? There weren't any Borisin here, so the chances of them being mauled were super low.
'Maybe I'm going insane.' she thought, 'It wouldn't be horrible. I could use it as an excuse to laze around more. At least after this π© show comes to an end.'
She took another step, and another, willing herself to go further. Unfortunately, the body has a little something call limits.
Y/n had surpassed hers hours ago.
Her leg decided to clock out for a nap and she fell forward, smacking her face on the stairs hard enough to give her a concussion (if the forehead kiss her and Blade ended up sharing before they fell off the platform that second time didn't do it already).
She flopped on the ground, the world around her seeming to be dunked underwater as she heard Welt shouting something. Damn, his gorgeous voice was fuzzy, she couldn't hear him well enough!
'Damn it... I can't keep my eyes open...'
She could sleep for a second, right?
Yes, just a second would be fine.
(Short chapter, I know, but the next will be longer cause you get to know exactly what type of ππ© y/n was doing while soloing an entire planet)
(Buff March destroyed my back in my dream last night, so I figured it's time I get back on track)
