"I don't know, darling. I cannot do anything for your company unless you sign this contract." Sae Hee's brows raised at what Hae Kyeong proposed.
The cremetion of Min Jae's body just happened yesterday. It didn't pass months before Hae Kyeong came to their house and reported the news that the ChinHan Inc. is already at its peak of closing. And as the wife of the late CEO of the company, Sae Hee has to take action to save the company that her husband's family started.
"Alright, then. I'll sign the papers."
It was not a secret as to how Hae Kyeong liked Sae Hee ever since they were college. Min Jae and him were best friends and dormmates. Min Jae was from a rich family while Hae Kyeong worked his ass off just to get into the college of his dreams. Hae Kyeong became a part of the student council and Sae Hee was one of the officers back. They became close and Hae Kyeong introduced his new friend to his best friend, Min Jae.
Hae Kyeong developed feelings for Sae Hee. But the girl that he likes has already fallen in love for his best friend, Min Jae.
"Sae Hee, I like you.."
It was a surprise for Sae Hee. She looked at him, full of guilt.
"I like you too. As a friend. You have been a very nice friend and I can't thank you enough. But I love Min Jae. I'm sorry." She turned her back on him and left him in daze.
Min Jae and Sae Hee got married but Hae Kyeong never stopped loving the same woman his best friend does. Min Jae never knew of his best friend's feelings for his own wife and so he thought that everything was just fine. Min Jae became the CEO of ChinHan Inc. and he personally asked Hae Kyeong to help him manage the company.
For Min Jae, it was of help. But for Hae Kyeong, it was the only way he could still be close to his love.
The contract that Hae Kyeong was offering was a marriage contract. He grabbed the chance now that his best friend is gone. And Sae Hee was vulnerable enough to be taken advantage of. Her husband just died and Hae Kyeong was that of a wicked man to pull off an action like that.
"Eomma, I want you to bring Saemi and Min Hyung to Gyeonggi." Sae Hee already packed her children's things before she handed them all to her mother who was puzzled to the decision of her daughter.
"Why? We can't leave you here alone with that man!" Her mother exclaimed. Sae Hee smiled at her mother to assure her. Sae Hee's mother knows that Hae Kyeong is not up to something good.
"I'll be fine, eomma. Please take care of them." Saemi entered the living room, confused at the sight of their bags on the floor near her grandma.
"Eomma, where is halmeoni going?" She held the end of the stairs and dangled on it with her other foot swaying.
"You're going to a vacation with halmeoni, Saemi-ya. Along with Min Hyungie." Saemi knew something was wrong.
"How about you, eomma? You're not coming with us?" Sae Hee walked to her daughter and caressed Saemi's cheeks dearly. She shook her head, a smile still lingering her lips. Saemi's brows twitched at her mom's reply.
"Why?"
"Eomma still has a lot of things to do. I'll follow you, don't worry. After I finish everything here, I'll follow you there." Saemi shook her head. She can see through her mother's eyes that there's no assurance that her mother would follow.
"You're lying. I'm not going with Halmeoni, eomma. I will stay here. I'm coming if you'll go with us." Saemi went down the stairs and faced her mother with a firm look. She has been a very strong little girl of her words even if she has a fragile heart that she inherited from her mother.
"Sweetheart, listen to me." Sae Hee lowered herself to meet her daughter's eyes and held Saemi by the shoulders. Min Hyung came down and instantly went running to his grandma's arms.
"You have to come with halmeoni so thatβ"
"No. I want to stay with you, eomma." Sae Hee sighed in defeat. It doesn't look like she can convince her daughter.
"Eommaaaaaa!" Min Hyung cried as he sees the silhouette of his mother getting harder to see.
"Min Hyung-a, wait for me, arasseo?" That was the last thing Saemi said to her brother before she left.
"I love you so much, son."
"Eommaaaaa!"
And so Sae Hee's mother and Min Hyung went to Gyeonggi. Saemi and Sae Hee were left behind in the palms of Hae Kyeong.

"Byun, is it okay for you if Shin Hae unnie will stay over our house for the meantime?" Saemi asked for Baekhyun's permission on the day she gets discharged from the hospital.
"Sure. I won't object in anything you need, chippy." Saemi's heart warmed at his reply. Baekhyun's a very nice, weird friend she has.
"By the way, Eomma might visit us. She couldn't come over the hospital for the past days since she was busy and she said she'll come over." She nodded at what Baekhyun said. She's already used to the unexpected visits of Mrs. Byun, it's not really a surprise anymore.
The nurse, Shin Hae came along with them on the drive back to their house. Shin Hae's the closest nurse Saemi is since she also was the one who took care of Saemi when the child gets hospitalized. Shin Hae is only about 3 years older than her that's why they get along well.
When they arrived at home, Shin Hae and Baekhyun assisted Saemi on the way to her room. Baekhyun held Saemi gently on the waist while Shin Hae brought Saemi's things.
Baekhyun's heart doesn't seem to know when to stop beating fast at the touch of Saemi. He needs to get her in her room as soon as possible or else he would br the one hospitalized next because of a heart attack.
When Baekhyun successfully made Saemi sit on her bed, he let out a big sigh before he walks towards the door.
"Byun," He halts on his track.
"Thank you."
"No problem, chippy."
