SAEMI'S POV
As for our agreement, we really went out to find a place for our so-called 'wedding'. We went on our way early to catch up to the places Baekhyun's mother suggested for us.
"Where's the first one?" Baekhyun was driving the car while I was looking around outside as I notice the roads beginning to clear out.
"Mom said it would be great to have a beach wedding." He replied.
"Why are we doing this again, Byun?" The thought of seriously arranging this 'wedding' gives me questions to myself as to why am I involving myself to this. It's not like I already want to get married at the age of 21.
"To show them that we 'look' serious about their agreement." I glanced at him and saw him gave me a quick look before focusing on the road again. I nodded and tried to make sense with myself.
"Yeah, yeah."
"Saemi-ya, what's your secret for today?" He doesn't just quit at this secret-revealing he's pushing. I heaved a sigh and thought of a little secret I actually hid.
"I had an ex-boyfriend who cheated on me." And there I said it.
"What happened?" He asked and looked at me with curiosity written in his eyes. And a hint of annoyance?
"Secret." I gave him a wink before propping my elbow on the side of the window and resting my chin on my hand. I heard him groan causing me to chuckle.
"Oh, come on. Tell me~" He whines and even grabbed my arm to shake it a little. I shook my head in disbelief of his childish acts that he's pulling off pretty good and convincing.
"Fine." I removed his hand from my arm and crossed them, looking straight ahead.
"He cheated on me with my best friend."
"Well that's pretty heavy."
"You bet it was. Maybe it was my fault too." I fiddled my fingers and let out a slight laugh. "Maybe I didn't give him the attention he wanted and that's what triggered him to do that." I lowered my head as I reminisce the moments we had before.
Dongyoon was my boyfriend since we were in college. We had the same course taken and always had the same schedule so I meet him in ever class all the time. But there was this club that brought us closer. I was inspired by Jaehyun that time because he majored in theater arts and he was really good in singing and acting. So I tried out for Drama Club not knowing that Dongyoon was also interested in doing acting.
We had an important part to do in this certain play that the director handpicked for us. He urged me to throw lines with him before the original rehearsals, saying that it would be easier for us to go around the stage on the actual rehearsal if we already planned it out beforehand.
We didn't know we were falling in love. And Juda was there to witness every moment we had. Dongyoon asked me out after the play and we became official after our first date. My father knew him and was fond of him because of his interest in business as well.
But everything changed when I had to go under a very difficult time that I had to distant myself from him. It was my pride that was taking the best of me when it all took place.
"I don't think that's enough reason for him to do that, chippy." I told Baekhyun half of the story but I didn't go further than the birthday celebration incident.
I shrugged, "You don't know that, Baek."
"I mean, if he really loves you, even if he has the right to grow some hurt feelings because of what you did, that's not enough excuse for him to do something horrible like that!" I was amused by how he reacted at my story but kept my ear open to hear his rants that he even pulled the car to the side of the road and breathed out.
"I couldn't even imagine how you felt that time. God, you poor thing.." He looked at me and placed both of his hands on my cheeks, caressing it with his thumb so gently that I forced myself not to close my eyes to drift off. He's obviously cooing me like a baby.
What are you doing, Byun?
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that." We were face to face and he was saying all these things as if he was the one who got hurt by what happened. His eyes was very sincere. I don't get why he's so sincere when he's not even the one who did the awful thing to me.
I laughed, "It's not your fault, Byun. Stop sympathizing me. It's okay." I tried to get rid of his hands from my face and sat back.
"I won't let it happen again. And I'll make sure the right one won't even have the guts to do that."
"Oh, he wont, chippy."
***
When we arrived at the location, I instantly walked out of the car and welcomed the sight of the sea.
"Yah! Wait for me!" Baekhyun ran to my side while tugging on the insides of his jacket.
I took a deep breath and inhaled the breeze, relaxing my tensed shoulders and calming the beat of my heart. The breeze itself soothes every muscle that tenses my inner mind for the past days.
Taking a last breath of the breeze, I turned to look at Baekhyun who I caught already staring at me. He didn't even shy away when I caught him but kept a steady look.
"Let's go?" I inquired. He blinked a couple of times before nodding and leading the way to the hotel building.
When we got there, we inquired for their wedding preparations that they could hold and how much would it cost.
"Byun, I'm so guilty." I tugged on his arm when the lady we were talking to left to get something from their office.
"Why?"
"She's making all the effort to accommodate us when the real thing is, we won't even attend the actual wedding we act like planning."
She came back with papers and presentations in a folder and started discussing with us. I didn't know acting like I want this is that bad.
