"VISENYA!" called Jacaerys as he encountered his rival walking down the hallways after the welcoming feast. The heel of her shoes echoing in the tall halls of the Eyrie like a melodyโVisenya cursed her heels as she did Jacaerys for his loudness, she could not stand the clacking noises as well as the breaking voice of an adolescent boy.
"what?" she called back irritably, having enough of both sounds. She stopped, clenching her hands, driving her nails to her palm to focus somewhere else but the bastard's irritable face.
Jacaerys, in turn, sighed in relief for not having to chase the spoiled brat of a princess like a hound.
"you chase me with urgency so you can finally lose your voice?" The princess asked with a raise of brow, her eye slightly twitching in ire.
"We must not keep arguing in the face of noble lords and noble ladies alike, for we sully the good name of House Targaryen." He prompted with his brown eyebrows furrowed, a contrast to Visenya's lighter raised ones.
"And what would you know of House Targaryen, nephew" Scoffed Visenya ignorantly, as if she pretended her own half-sister was not a Targaryen herself. "you and your brothers sully our name on your own." she added, piling on wood onto the burning fire.
Jacaerys would scream then and there, if not reminding himself he was a gentleman; heir to the Iron Throne himself. Visenya could bark all she wanted, she was the last daughter of King Viserys and Queen Alicent herselfโher claim on the throne or whatever else was below him. She was no bite.
"The people of Westeros claim you to be a respectable lady, Princess Visenya. One of renowned faith yet you delight yourself in hearsay prompted by your side of the family. I say that is no faithful attitude at all."
Another twitch of eye, her nails digging harder on to the lines of her palm. Jacaerys had struck a nerve bringing Visenya's praised reputation she had pretended so rigidly to uphold. He had won this argument and in doing so had earned Visenya's ears.
Visenya kissed her teeth, raising her head like one of superior status, "Very well, we may forge an alliance in the eyes of Westeros upon our conjoined visit to the Vale. I am following my sister's path and visiting the Seven Kingdoms as she once did." she answered his question from hours earlier.
Jacaerys furrowed his brows, "I am doing the same."
"Well surely you must avert it, lest we plunge knives in our own backs by the end of tour." Visenya held her hands in front of her stomach.
"You ask me to change my course?" Jacaerys questioned prettily, not agreeing he should be the one bothered to do so when it was Visenya that was so vexed by his presence.
"You ride a dragon to and fro, my prince. I am burdened by a carriage and multiple knights and maids." Visenya reasoned, turning her back and not allowing Jacaerys to burden her with his impertinence once more.

"COUNFOUND IT ALL." Visenya banged a silver dagger in the wood of her vanity, staring at her reflection through the mirror. A mad woman stared back, with wild eyes like those of the apex predator. Her silver hair ran loose as her most trusted aide, Elise brought her wrinkly olive colored hands to the princess hair.
"How dare he? How dare he speak ill of my name so freely? How dare he vex me so openly?" The young princess rambled as Elise listened. Her agile fingers braiding the princess silver hair as she did since she was but a child. The maid was a listener through and through, having been in care for Visenya when she was but a babe; the maid had grown fond of the girl, as much to say she loved her like the daughter she once lost.
She disagreed with Visenya's view on those of her and the young prince's nature, but that was a product of her mother's words. And she hoped Visenya would come to realize that they were humans with opnions and views on the world, that she'd grow to realize that they had as much right to walk the paved streets as she did.
"What cruel jest do the gods play this time, Elise?" Visenya slumped in her seat. "I know not, princess. Though whatever it is, I am certain you will manage as you always do." Visenya looked at her maid, suddenly realizing the change in her looks from when she was a child.
Her skin once so soft had become wrinkly, her smile tired, her dark hair that shined so brightly in the moonlight now had grey streaks coming through by each yearโthe ones of old age, unlike hers.
"You are my most trusted companion, Elise." Visenya whispered sadly, their difference in age a juxtaposition. "You know each part of me, each differing glance while my mother is yet to differentiate my emotions." Visenya was a different person to decipher, one with a kind smile to the public yet she couldn't help but feel more apathetic to it allโthe head injury had changed the joyful princess who adored the visits to the Sept though she had not much faith in the gods and did it for her mother's happiness. The girl who would play in the gardens and balance duty with pleasure.
The red blooded girl, rather than the black blooded one.
Elise smiled softly, she knew Visenya but Visenya would not know all of herโsuch was the relationship between a noble and a servant.
"So, what are the plans for tomorrow, my lady?"
