Lately, I've been receiving threats.

It started off with just small notes being left in my shoe locker to having my things thrashed all over the place.

I didn't tell anyone about what was happening to me since I honestly couldn't care less.

I mean, if they hated me so much, then I'll let them finish their childish tantrum until they have the mental capacity to talk to me.

I was okay with everything at first, but now...

"How awful!"

"Who would do such a thing?"

"Poor L/n..."

Whispers from my classmates spread across the room like wildfire.

My eyes scanned the death threat messages sprawled all across my desk, a single pen jabbed into the table as if it was some sort of warning.

"This is ridiculous." Chigiri groaned, casting his school bag aside before leaving our classroom to report the situation to a teacher.

My classmates worriedly glanced at me, wondering how I would respond to the imbecility of whoever did this.

The moment Chigiri left, I took a few steps forward and approached the desk to scrutinize the artwork drawn specifically for me.

The color of the markers weren't uniform since there were the colors black, red, blue, and green. It looked like they couldn't decide on a color.

They didn't even do their handwriting some justice as it looked like an infant scribbled on it with its feet.

My hand reached out to touch the words, feeling its dried up ink that had already seeped into the wooden table, forming a permanent mark on my desk.

The letters written on the wooden table spelled out the words "Die", "Back off", "He's mine", and many more pointless attempts of scaring me.

Based on the word choices, they must be referring to the only boy I hung out with inside and outside of the school, Chigiri Hyลma.

From walking to school to having lunch and attending club practice to walking home together, I sometimes forget that he's popular with the ladies.

Of course, it would make sense for them to despise the girl who gets to be with him almost every day of the week.

But if you're gonna hate on me over something so trivial, then I'd rather you just beat me up and get it over with instead of doing taxing things such as this.

It's as if you're dropping hints for me to notice you instead of just directly confessing your feelings to me.

I'm not the type who liked getting teased.

"Did any of you write this?" I asked, my eyes shifting from the top of my desk to the crowd of students idly standing there.

No one answered. Instead, they whispered amongst themselves, shrugging at one another.

With the serene guise plastered on my face, I patiently waited for at least one of them to come out and admit their wrongdoings.

I read each and every one of the expressions on their faces, and much to my dismay, no one was willing to say a thing.

"Hm, fine." I mumbled, dismissing the way they'd yelp at every word I uttered from my mouth.

Alas, my homeroom teacher finally arrived as she flounced her way to my desk and inspected the death threats.

She scoffed in disbelief before reassuring me that she'll do whatever it takes to stop this from continuing.

Though, I'm pretty sure they're gonna do nothing about it.

When my homeroom teacher left to speak with the faculty, and possibly the principal, the boy who called her approached me.

"Come on." Chigiri promptly held my hand before dragging me to his seat in the classroom.

I didn't say a thing as I allowed him to do whatever he wanted with me.

"You won't be able to concentrate in class with a table like that, right?" he rhetorically asked, gently pushing me down to sit down on his chair.

He's too kind.

Not only was Chigiri beautiful, he was also a good-natured person. I understand why he would be popular.

"Thank you." I slightly bowed before turning to look at the empty surface in front of me, opposite of what mine looked like.

"Yeah, yeah." he murmured, walking away from me to sit on my vandalized desk.

It sickened me that there were actual people who would do such things yet, they had the sheer audacity to attend class as if they're "oh so innocent".

And what was the reason for the things they did? Jealousy.

As I bit my lower lip, I looked down and focused my gaze on my lap, trying to hold back the feelings I have been doing my best to hide from others.

I can't wait to find out the identities of the students who did that to my desk.

With the corners of my lips curved upward, I clutched the hems of my skirt.

The idea of seeing them punished made me lick my lips in anticipation for what the future had in store.

"That's so mean."

"I feel bad for L/n."

"Yeah..."

Ah, don't pity me.

Pity the person whose reputation I'm about to destroy.

As days passed by, the bullying only got worse.

Whenever Y/n would open her shoe locker, she'd find razor blades stabbed into her indoor school shoes.

The inside of her desk would be filled with spoiled food and an open carton of milk, drenching all of her books and notebooks.

Instead of getting agitated, she used those opportunities to fuel the anger of the students who were doing this to her.

Whenever her shoes would get destroyed, Chigiri would give her a piggyback ride to their classroom. And whenever her stuff would get soaked, Chigiri would sit next to her to share his notes.

Y/n used her childhood friend, Chigiri Hyลma, for the purpose of provoking her perpetrators.

The teachers couldn't do anything because they apparently couldn't find the person doing such things. They didn't want to call the police since they didn't want the school's reputation to go down.

Y/n thought of the school as incapable people who care more about their reputation instead of their own student. As a result, she decided to handle things on her own.

If no one was going to help her, then she might as well help herself instead of relying on a bunch of dimwits.

"L/n?" the young boy called out, noticing how the girl was spacing out for the fifth time today. This made him annoyed.

It wasn't that he was mad that she wasn't talking or responding to him. It was the fact that he couldn't do anything about the situation she was in.

The unceasing throb in his heart made him wonder how the girl could handle the position she was in.

It felt as if there was a heavy, fervent vortex that consumed every space in his chest, suffocating him.

He couldn't help but feel guilty as he was the main reason why she was getting treated this way.

He tried to distance himself from her as an attempt to break off the bullying, but Y/n didn't allow him.

"Come with me." Chigiri abruptly grabbed ahold of her wrist and pulled her inside of the room they were heading to.

He then closed the door behind them to avoid letting anyone in. He was grateful that no one was inside the boys' changing room.

Despite being befuddled, Y/n didn't say a thing as she sat on the bench that was in the middle of the room. She pondered if Chigiri had business with her to bring her in such a room.

The young boy went to his locker and opened it, taking out his folded school uniform and setting it down behind her on the bench.

"Friendly reminder that I'm notโ€”" Y/n paused when her eyes met with his bare chest, making her flustered on the spot.

First of all, she was in a room that she's not supposed to be in. Second, he's changing in front of her as if it's a normal thing between them.

"I'll let you finish your business." she shot her head to the floor beneath them.

"Ah, right. I forgot." Chigiri awkwardly said, completely forgetting the fact that Y/n and him were no longer the kids who casually had baths and changed clothes together.

Oh, how puberty changes people.

"Good job on practice earlier." Y/n praised, trying to fill the silent air around them since it sounded so wrong for her to hear the sounds of his clothes moving around his body.

"Thanks." he whispered, adjusting his button-up shirt.

"Are you done? I'll get going now." Y/n speedily stood up, scurrying to the door.

She let out a quiet gasp when she was suddenly pinned against the wall by Chigiri, rendering her flustered in the situation.

"Wait, Chigiri. I don't think we shouldโ€”" she was cut off by his words.

"Are you seriously going to let them step on you like that?" he asked, disappointed that the lady he admired wasn't the least bothered of the bullying she was experiencing.

Y/n's embarrassed expression had twisted in response to Chigiri's way of seeing the position she was in.

"I'm not allowing them to step on me, Chigiri." she corrected, crossing her arms as she stared into his eyes; eyes that held a raging flame that burned within them.

"Then, what are you doing? Why won't you allow me to do anything to help you? Just say the word and I won't hesitate!" he yelled.

"It's not like you're allowed to beat them up, right? I'm sure my bullies are just jealous ladies, so it's better if I handle them." she reasoned.

"Still, I should-" he paused when Y/n pressed her finger on his lips.

"The only thing you should do is be good boy and shut up. I'll handle this." she harshly said, her gaze turning colder by the second.

Chigiri had no choice but to back down. He knew Y/n was a capable person, so he respected her wishes.

As days passed by, Y/n slowly but surely fulfilled her declaration.

The five female students who were involved in her bullying had their relationships with their friends, siblings, and parents destroyed.

Every single thing they've done in the past was exposed for the world to see; such as cheating on the exams, having relationships with multiple guys, stealing money from their workplace, spreading false information, being the cause of death of a student who was led to suicide because of their intense bullying, and many more.

News spread and reached the principal, so they were expelled from their school with no hesitation.

The students, and even the teachers, looked down on them for all the things the lady had exposed them for.

With the record of their doings plastered on their faces, no school was willing to accept them.

Their pasts were stained, their relationships were ruined, and their futures were determined; everything they thought they had was crumbled in the hands of their victim, L/n Y/n.

And how did the young lady feel after doing such things?

Nothing.

To her, she was just simply returning the favor of the past victims that wished for karma to befall upon them.

And so, she played the role of karma.

That's what Chigiri adored about her.

The way she'd allow herself to be toyed around with to make you think you were in control.

The way she would crush everything you thought you had in a blink of an eye without even laying a single finger on you.

And the way she did all of this with the inscrutable expression on her innocent face.
