"So are you gonna ask Duckie to prom?" Your bestfriend friend Andie asks as you both walk down the crowded school hallway,getting ready for next period.

You had the biggest crush on your other bestfriend Duckie,the problem was he had a crush on Andie. Not you.

"I don't know maybe" you blush and clutch your books to your chest.

"He mentioned asking you out" you add as you open your locker.

"Me? Your kidding right?" Andie chuckles opening her locker that was right next to yours

"I'm not kidding,he was talking about it the other night when we were studying at my place" you say

"Well Duckie must be crazy,he should know by now that I like Blane" Andie rolls her eyes playfully slamming her locker shut.

"Hello ladies" Duckie says startling you and Andie

"Hey duckie" Andie and you say in unison.

"You are both wearing very volcanic ensembles today I see" duckie smirks as he moves his glasses down so he could get a better look of you and andie.

"Well I'm gonna go I can't be late for class" Andie says trying to leave duckie and you alone together.

"Hold on my lady,let me guide you" Duckie calls out rushing up to Andie's side.

You look down and kick your locker making it rattle.

"Are you coming Y/n?!" andie shouts halfway down the hall.

"Yeah I am" you regain your composure and run up to your two best friends.

Later on that day

Andie and you finished school and had to head down to the record store where you both worked.

"Why don't you just tell Duckie how you feel?" Andie suggests as she works on a piece of fashion she brought along with her

"I don't know andie,I already know he doesn't like me back"

"Applause applause applause" iona says aloud as she steps down from the ladder she was using to hang vinyls on the roof.

You and Andie both laugh

"So iona do you think y/n here should ask out our male bestfriend?" Andie asks

"Oh I see you got a crush on someone and your scared to admit your feelings cause you have a fear of rejection?" Iona rambles

"Uh yeah" you admit

"You know I had the same problem when I was your age" iona says placing the staple gun down on the counter

"Really? How did you deal with it?" You wonder resting your chin on your hand.

"I just confessed and it turned out he liked me too. It's simple like that" iona snaps her fingers

"Fine I'll confess my feelings for duckie" you sigh,still a little hesitate about what you were gonna do.

"Finally" andie exaggerates playfully trying on sunglasses

Just then the little bell on the door rang signaling someone had entered.

Andie turned around and realized who it was and quickly threw the sunglasses off her face.

"Hi is there something I can help you with?" Andie asks nervously making me chuckle to myself.

"Not at the moment,but I'll inform you if there is" Blane smiles at andie making her blush.

"So are you gonna ask Blane to prom?" I mock her question making her flip me off jokingly.

1 week later

"Y/n guess what?!" Andie exclaims as she ran into the record store for her shift

"What?" You ask

"Blane asked me out on a date yesterday" andie squeals

"That's good" you smile putting prices on records

"So I'm gonna have to finish my shift early can you cover for me?" Andie asks

"Yeah of course" you fake a smile

"Thanks y/n" andie smiles sitting on the counter

Just then 'try a little tenderness' by Otis Redding began to play and that's when duckie slid into the store.

Duckie began lip syncing the song and dancing.

After the song was over duckie walked up to andie and I with a smirk on his face

"That was for you andie" duckie says

"Okay well I gotta go" andie states jumping off the counter and leaving the store.

"Where is andie going?" Duckies questions you

"She has a date" you simply say

"What's his name?"

"Blane" you reply

"His name is Blane? Blane? That's a major appliance. That's not a name!" Duckie rambled angry at the fact that he didn't ask andie out in time

"Calm down duckie it not a big deal" you start stocking the shelf with records

"Yes it is I was gonna ask andie to prom today!" Duckie's voice cracks.

"And I was gonna ask you" you mumble thinking duckie didn't hear.

"What did you say?" Duckie steps closer to you

"I said I was gonna ask you to prom" you confess looking duckie in the eyes

"Are you serious?" Duckie asks

"Yeah I am serious. You know I've had the biggest crush on you since we were kids" you place all the records down on the shelf and walk up to duckie

"Really?" Duckie wonders

"Of course" you give a weak smile

"Well I accept your offer" duckie smiles making you return the gesture.

That's when you feel Duckies soft lips on yours. You run your hands through his hair as his arms wrap around your waist. The kiss was slow and passionate.

Both of you pull away with smiles on your faces
