𝑏𝑖𝑟𝑑𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝑓𝑒𝑎𝑡𝒉𝑒𝑟, 𝑤𝑒 𝑠𝒉𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑘 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡𝒉𝑒𝑟, 𝑖 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤

We approach the ticket booth, and Benny announces that he would pay for everyone

I mean, if someone wants to buy something for me, I am NOT complaining at all

Benny hands out everyone's tickets, and we have about to go on a ride, but then Bertram yells out, "OH CRAP I ALMOST FORGOT." Everyone stops in their tracks to ask what he had almost forgotten

He pulls something out of his pocket, which I recognize to be chewing tobacco

He takes a sniff of it and says it's Big Chew 'the best'

Smalls then proceed to ask, "What's that?" Ham then proceeds to say "Geez Smalls I suppose you don't know who the babe is either, " with a smile on his face as he chuckles at his own 'joke'

Smalls and Ham go back, and forth, and what it is, but then Bertram proceeds to pass around the box, gesturing for people to take it

As it gets passed to Benny, he just simply denies the tobacco, and so do I, neither of us have tried chewing tobacco

But we have some other friends that have tried it and they told us about the horrible experience

As everyone, besides me and Benny, put the tobacco in their mouths, everyone ran to the first ride they wanted to go on

Me and Benny share a look. We both knew what was about to happen. We just didn't warn the boys about it

I think we both thought it was important for them to learn a lesson

Smalls asks if we were coming, and we both shake our heads, and he says ok and gets on an open seat

I look to my left and see a ride "Oh Benny c'mon let's go on that ride," and before I can take 5 steps, he stops me

"Woah woah woah, ok, we can go, but first you have to tell me why you were late today, I mean, you said you would. Oh shit I forgot I said I would

"Are you serious right now?" I asked him. "Of course I am, I'm curious."

"Ok, well, what happened was when I left my house on time, but then on the way to the sandlot, I was going kinda slow and I ran into someone so that slowed me down even more" I told him truthfully

He raised an eyebrow at my response. "Who did you run into?" he asked, confused."Oh, just a new kid, I think his name is Cameron," I said, completely unaware of his jealousy at the time

"Oh," that was the only word that left his mouth "Ok now that I told you, let's go," I said impatiently

I grab his hand and start running to the ride that had like 8 other people

The ride was named 'The Tornado of Terror', it had little two-seated carts that had another cart connected and rested on a spinny thing, and the whole thing spun along with what was already spinning

(sry if that doesn't make sense, but it's kinda like the teacups)

We gave the person at the front our tickets, and then we proceeded to walk to an empty cart

We pull down the bar that secures us, and we then hear the ride whirring, and it slowly starts but then speeds up

As the ride reached the max speed, I looked over at Benny, and he started screaming, Now the ride went like really fast, but at this point, Benny was just being dramatic

I start laughing at his overreaction, and he just starts laughing along with me, realizing his stupidity

As the ride slowly comes to a stop and the bar lifts up, and we stand up and exit the ride

Benny starts walking like he's drunk, acting dizzy and dumb

I see a carnival game and grab Benny's hand, which somewhat stabilizes him

I looked back and saw him look at me while we were walking to the game I had seen

The objective of the game was that you had to land each ball in a bucket, but each toss was from a different angle

So Benny decided to give it a try. He gave the guy a ticket and started to try it out

he made all four of the shots, and he won this medium-sized bear

I was so thrilled that he had won something for me. It was a generous act from Benny

He was always doing the sweetest gestures for me, and he was just a kind person, and he was always supportive and he was such a gentleman, but most importantly, he loved almost everyone unconditionally and he wasn't ashamed of that

He was the most loveable person I know, and that's what made me love him so much

It's crazy how I'm admitting to being utterly in love with my best friend

I've known him for so long, and during that long period of time, he has given me multiple reasons why I should love him as much as I do

Benny was such a good person, and I don't know how I can repay him

I snapped out of my thoughts as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to a food stand. It was a Mexican stand, and they had a bunch of food

We both ordered a FAT plate of nachos, and I got a regular horchata while he got a strawberry horchata

We find a place to sit, and we sit down right next to each other

As we ate our food, we started to talk about random things like how we felt about high school since me, him, Bertram, and Kenny were gonna be in high school this upcoming fall,

Occasionally, I'd take a sip from his big cup of strawberry horchata, and he wouldn't mind since he did the same with mine (ik this is irrelevant, but js a small detail I thought I should add)

For a while, we sat in peaceful silence since nither of us thought of a topic we could should talk about

BENNY'S POV (we're switching shit up finally)

Gosh, all I wanted to do was kiss her so bad

It's kinda weird that I'm crazy in love with my best friend, especially because she probably didn't feel the same way

I mean, what's not to love about her? She's so kind, and she was such a funny person

I mean, I could be having the worst day, and she just fills me with so much joy

Not many people can do that for me. But she was also such a gorgeous person

I was absolutely in love with her eyes and how they shine whenever she's excited and how each and every one of her side pieces perfectly framed her face

Her lips always looked soft and moisturized. Her skin was always soft and soothing

If someone asked me to describe what perfect was, I'd say y/n. She is such a good person. I am unconditionally and irrevocably unloved with her

She is everything I could ask for, even if she doesn't see me like that

But I'm brought back to reality when she snaps her fingers in my face

"Benjaminnn, hellooooo," She said while her hand began to wave in my face

I realized that while I was thinking about all the perfect things about her, I was staring at her

"Wait, what, sorry," I said as if I wasn't thinking about her like I am 24/7,

"Nothing, you were just staring," She said while laughing at my cluelessness

I just couldn't hold it in any longer, I mean, she's just beyond perfect

So I made the best decision of my life and grabbed her chin, and kissed her. It wasn't a long kiss, but more of just a quick one

She pulled away with a shocked look on her face. I only now realized what I did and deeply regretted it

"Holy shi-, I'm so sorry y/n. I don't know what I was thinking." I was shortly cut off by her grabbing my face and pulling me in

YOUR POV (period)

He kissed me

The guy I've loved for some time now actually kissed me

At first, I pulled away as I was kinda taken aback by his actions

I made the rational decision of pulling away, which I regret

He started to frantically apologize, but I just cut him off by kissing him once more

He was a first kinda shocked to, but he embraced it and started to kiss back

I then rest my hand around his neck, and he grips his hands on my waist

After maybe 17 seconds of a sensational kiss, we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat in order to gain mine and Benny's attention, which it sadly does

Me and Benny look at the boys to see them covered in puke

"Holy shit what happened to you guys," Benny asks in just as much shock as me

"Never mind that you two were just caught macking on each other, which I am traumatized from," Ham says, sounding disgusted

"I mean, it was way obvious that you two dumbasses were into each other," Kenny says

"He's right, like spot on, like how could it be anymore clear?" Bertram said

Me and Benny roll our eyes at their remarks

"Ok, now we're past that. What the hell happened to you guys?" I asked "Well what does it look like? " Ham said sarcastically

I was fed up with the comments he had all the damn time. "It looks like you guys made a dumb decision and had to pay the consequence," I said, annoyed

"Now, what did we learn from this?" I asked them as they all respond in unison, saying, "We learned that we made a dumb decision and you were right." they said kinda monotone from  having to say it all the time

"That's what I like to hear," I said pleased with their answer. "Now let's get you guys cleaned up," I said while walking over to the bathrooms

I, of course, didn't go with them, but I let them clean their self up because if I cleaned them up, that would be disgusting

Me and Benny stood outside of the bathroom, and he started by asking, "So what are we, like are we still friends orr what?" he asked

"Uhm, well, what do you want to be?" I asked him "Well I was kinda hoping you'd say we could be together," he said truthfully while looking down, but his eyes looked up at me for a second

"Well, how of course I wanna get together with you, I mean, how could I pass on such an opportunity I said,"

As I said that, he smiled and grabbed my face and kissed me for the third time tonight

But for the second time tonight, we were interrupted by the boys and their collective "eww's"

We roll our eyes at them as Ham says, "Can you guys do that in your rooms?"

"Whatever, you're just mad that you're never gonna get any, Ham," Smalls says, shocking everyone because he doesn't say stuff like that

"Damn, Smalls, I didn't know you could get down like that," Benny said, high fiving him

Ham just laughs along, probably accepting his fate

We all walk home from the fair, but we all barely have any energy from being out all day

As everyone goes back home one by one, the group gets smaller and smaller until there's only me, Smalls, and Benny left

But then Smalls waves us goodbye and goodnight, and it's only me and Benny left

He asks me if I wanna stay the night, and I agree since I'm always bored at home by myself

We enter his house, and his mom and sister are asleep on the couch with Eliana lying on Adrianas chest with Mickey Mouse playing on the TV

Benny sees them and grabs a nearby blanket, puts it on them, and he then turns the TV off

He turns to me as I have a huge smile on my face. "What?" he asked, giggling

"You're such a family guy. It's truly amazing," I said with the smile still resting on my face

He just smiles and randomly hugs me, and I hug him back, we stay like this for a little as he spoke, "I'm so lucky to have you."

That made my heart to a cartwheel, followed by 17 backflips

"Awe, I am too, Benny," I admit to him

We both pull away and start walking to his room since we both just wanted to sleep

We enter his somewhat dirty room and crawl onto his bed, and when we both are on his bed, he pulls me close to him

This wasn't unusual since we had done this before, but this time, it was different since we were now dating, but it still wasn't awkward

After we get comfortable in our cuddle position, we both instantly fall asleep
