After a while Sidney laid back down on the couch and closed her eyes. The phone rang again. Groaning, she sat up and picked it up. "Tatum, just get in the carβ" Sidney began, but a different voice interrupted her.
"Hello, Sidney."
She froze, her brow furrowing. "Uh... hi. Who is this?"
"You tell me."
Sidney glanced around the room, a small smile creeping onto her face. "Well, IβI have no idea."
"Scary night, isn't it? With all the murders and all, it's like something out of a horror movie or something." The voice continued.
She let out a laugh as she stood up and let a small lamp light up the room. "Randy, you gave yourself away. Are you calling from work? Because if you are, Tatum's on her way over."
"Do you like scary movies, Sidney?"
She chuckled. "I like that thing you're doing with your voice, Randy. It's sexy."
The voice on the other end persisted. "What's your favorite scary movie, Sidney?"
"You know I don't watch that shit." She replied, rolling her eyes.
"Why not? Too scared?" He joked.
"No, no. It's just what's the point? They're all the same. Some stupid killer stalking a big-breasted girl who can't act and runs up the steps instead of out the front door. It's insulting."
"Are you alone in the house?" He asked her.
Sidney frowned as she sat back down one the couch and looked outside. "Randy, that's so unoriginal. I'm disappointed in you."
"Maybe because I'm not Randy."
Sidney's expression shifted, her smile completely fading. "So... who are you?"
"The question isn't who am I, it's where am I?"
Her heart began to race as she quickly shook Adora awake, who looked up at her with confused eyes, on why Sidney had woken her up. Sidney pointed at the phone. "So... where are you?" She asked and with the way her eyes where looking outside, Adora had a small feeling on who was on the other side of that phone.
"Your front porch." The voice replied and Sindey held onto the phone with a tighter grip as she started walking
"Why would you be calling from my front porch?" Sidney asked, as Adora turned on even more light.
The voice grew darker. "That's the original part."
Sidney and Adora stepped toward the door, but when Sidney wanted to unlock it, Adora stepped in front of her. "What the hell are you doing? Are you crazy?" The black haired girl asked, shaking her head.
Sidney stared at the phone, gripping it tightly, her voice steady despite the unease bubbling beneath the surface. "I call your bluff." She said, her eyes briefly darting to Adora, who stood frozen by the front door.
Sidney mouthed, It's gonna be fine, trying to reassure her best friend, but Adora's feet stayed firmly planted, her hands gripping the edge of the door frame.
"Trust me." Sidney whispered, her voice soft but firm as she moved toward Adora, gently urging her to the side.
Adora hesitated, her gaze flicking between Sidney and the ominous darkness outside. Before she could protest or try to stop her, Sidney had already swung the door open wide, the cool night air spilling into the house. "So, where are you?" The Prescott asked as she scanned the porch and yard for any sign of Randy, who was clearly pranking them.
"Right here." The man replied, his voice calm.
Sidney froze, her eyes scanning the shadows outside. She strained her ears, waiting for somethingβanythingβto happen. But there was nothing. No sudden movements, no eerie creaks, not even the faintest rustle of leaves. Nothing.
Sidney looked around again, her eyes narrowing. She decided to test him. "Can you see us now?" She asked, walking over to the right side of the porch, while Adora stayed glued to her spot by the front door.
"Uh-huh." The man hummed
She smirked and put a finger up her nose as she stood back next to her friend. "What am I doing, huh? Huh? What am I doing?" There was a pause on the other end of the line. Sidney's smirk widened. "Nice try, Randy. Tell Tatum to hurry up, okay? Bye now."
Before she could hang up, the voice snapped back angrily. "If you hang up on me, you'll die just like your mother." Even Adora had heard the voice snap through the phone and Sidney's body went stiff. "Do you want to die, Sidney? Your mother sure didn't." The voice continued as Sidney's breath caught in her throat, and her hand trembled.
"Fuck you, you cretin." The girl spoke as the the two of them went back inside, Sidney's slammed the door shut, but as she turned around the first thing she saw was Adora's gaze and than she saw the cloaked figure with a ghostmask that had just launched out of a closet, holding up a sharp knife and coming straight for Sidney.
Adora immediately pushed Sidney out of the way as the masked man lunged forward. The force of her shove sent Sidney stumbling to the ground just as Adora stuck her foot out, tripping the cloaked figure. The man fell hard, his knife skittering out of his hand and across the floor.
"Sidney, grab it!" Adora shouted, scrambling to get to her feet, but the man was to quick and had already taken a hold of his knife again and crawled over her, grabbing her head and headbutting Sidney, making er momentarily dazed.
As the killer loomed over her, raising the blade for another strike, a loud crash echoed through the room. Adora, trembling but determined, had hurled a heavy vase with all her strength. It struck the man squarely on the side of his head, shattering into pieces and causing him to stagger.
Scrambling to her feet and getting helped up by Adora, they ran to the front door, only to find it locked. Panicking, she turned back just as the killer advanced again. They dodged his next strike, and the knife lodged into the doorframe.
Both girls quickly ran up the stairs, the man following right behind them, but they were too fast for him to follow them into Sindey's bedroom, where they put the other door open in front of the other door, so the killer wouldn't be able to get inside.
Both girls quickly bolted up the stairs, the masked man hot on their heels. They raced into Sidney's bedroom, slamming the door shut just in time. Thinking quickly, they wedged her closet door in front of the entrance, barricading it to prevent the killer from forcing his way inside.
