SAMANTHAS POV
I woke to sound of my father barging into my room. "Samantha hurry up and get ready." "For what?" "I'm taking you and Annika out. Rapp figured out where Sharifs assistant would be today, and we need a lady on the job to gain more information."
I cringed at the words my father spited out. Why do they need me? Why not just take Annika? After all, my father did yell me that he didn't want me anywhere near Sharif or his assistant.
Instead of arguing, I got up, slightly limping out of bed. As my father left, I went through my duffel bag and pulled out some clothes. I threw on a plain black long sleeve and blue jeans.
I headed out of the room, after slipping on my favorite pair of adidas, and was greeted by everyone else.
"How's the leg, Sam?" Annika asked. "It's fine." I didn't like her, she was here for nothing. Simply useless. She hadn't helped once while being on this mission. She also got on my nerves almost every time she talked, there was just something about her that made her suspicious.
"Alright ladies, lets go. Rapp, stay here, I don't need you getting in the way of anything." My father spoke. "But sir I-" "No. my daughter got a bullet sent through her yesterday and you didn't listen to orders. I need you to listen this time." You could tell mitch was pissed off, but I think it's a good idea that he stays. He needed to cool off and get ready for later when we confront Sharif.
As I grabbed my things and walked passed mitch, I whispered "meet me in my room at eight tonight. That's when we'll go" He nodded and I continued out the door. My father and Annika waited for me in the car.
ONE HOUR LATER
We arrived at our destination and got out of the car. "So what exactly are we doing here sir?" Annika questioned as we walked to a local town. "Sharif's assistant will be inside this bar. We need one of you guys to retrieve information from him and see what he knows about Sharifs meeting with Ghost."
We found out the man's name, who Sharif met yesterday, was Ghost. A name I knew all too well.
I nodded. "I'll stay out here, make sure nothing goes wrong on the outside. You two head inside, if something goes wrong single me." My father said as he put in his ear piece. Annkia and I also put our ear pieces in and walked inside the bar. I immediately noticed the assistant sitting alone, on a bar stool alone, drinking some alcoholic beverage.
Annika and I sat at a booth across from where he was sitting and a waiter came up to us. "Can I get you lovely girls anything?" He asked, clearly taking an interest in us with how he was smirking. "Oh no we're fine tha-" "Yeah, can I get a whiskey? Straight please." I said as I cut off Annika. Sure we were supposed to remain professional, but that doesn't mean I can't have a drink. I'm definitely not some light weight, so one drink won't do nothing to me.
"Coming right up." The waiter walked off and Annika scolded at me. "What?" I questioned. "Really? A drink? Right now? That's really unprofessional Samantha." "Oh please, I'm still doing my job." See what I mean? Annoying.
I got my drink a couple minutes passed by and we watched Sharifs assistant for a while. I began to get bored. We were doing nothing while we should be getting information.
I had finished my drink and asked a waiter to bring me another. I got my second drink and got up. "Where are you going?" "Sitting here won't get us anywhere." I took my glass and put on my 'helpless drunk girl act'. I walked over to the assistant and acted as if I was drunk off my ass.
"Excuses-s me sirrr...I saw you from across the room and w-was wondering if i could by you a drinkkkk?" I slurred my words to make it seem more realistic. "Oh uhm sure?" His english was poor but it would have to do. I ordered him a drink and we started talking.
After asking him a couple questions like 'What do you do for living?' 'What does your boss do' and other things, I figured out that he really didn't know anything. I was also confused as to why he literally told me everything he did know. I guess he doesn't speak to girls very much.
"Would you like to get out of here?" "O-oh I'm sorry, I cant.. m-maybe nexttt time?" He nodded and we exchanged numbers, obviously I gave him a fake one. I walked back to Annika as he left and told her everything that happened. We left and met up with my dad outside.
"So? How'd everything go?" He asked us. "Horrible, Samantha found out nothing." Annika spoke. Wow thanks for making me sound useless, bitch.
"Actually, he told me everything he knew, which was nothing. He said Sharifs works as a dealer, but we already knew that. Basically he knows what we know." I told him. "Great." My dad sighs, "Let's go back to the safe house and see if Rapp found anything else."
We parked a while away so that we would at least look like civilians we were walking the streets, and not only stopping at one place.
Once we got back in the car I had saw the time. 17:48, wow it was already pretty late. I guess since I did sleep in and it did take me a while to get ready because of my leg. Plus it did take almost an hour to drive to this spot.
Once we got back to the house it was already seven. Us three got out and went inside, we were met by Mitch sitting at the table looking at the laptop along with our escort. "Rapp. Did you find anything?" Stan asked.
He looked at me, knowing that he shouldn't tell him what we both know. Otherwise my father would know what we're up to. "No sir, nothing came up. Seems like we're in the waiting game now." "Great, just great." "Stan, I'm sure we'll find something soon." Annika tried to reassure him. Great now she's got the hots for my dad? Gross...
I crossed my arms as my father got angrier with Mitch not finding anything. I checked the time and decided that I would save my recruit from being lectured from my father anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad, but sometimes he can be...too much.
"Uhm, Rapp. Do you think you can help me out with my leg?" I said as I gestured my head to the clock on the wall to show him the time. Slightly glancing at the clock, "Oh yeah, sure"
MITCHS POV
Sam took me into the room she was staying in. Luckily she had her own room, so no one would barge in,well hopefully. "Sam are you sure you're ready to do this, tonight? You sure your leg is fine now?" "Mitch, I'm fine I promise. And yes I'm ready for tonight. This scum deserves to be threatened, but I do need you to look at my leg." "Oh yeah, of course"
She began to unbutton her pants and I was quick to stop her. "Whoa uhm what are you doing?" "Oh come on, surely you've seen a girl in her underwear before. Besides how else could you check my leg?"
She proceeded to take off her jeans. Her shirt was long enough to cover herself, but she did throw on shorts. I admired her for the short time she stood up and changed, not in a creepy way,but she was a beautiful women. I won't lie, the first time I had saw her I admired her. She was stunning. Samantha was really the first woman I had looked at after Katrinas death.
Samantha sat down on the bed. I kneeled on the floor and began to unwrap the gauze that covered her wound. It was overall pretty bloody but her wound had stopped bleeding ages ago. I cleaned off the dried blood with a wet cloth, and rewrapped her leg with new gauze. "Thanks Mitch." "No problem." "It's almost time. You can wait in here or in the restroom for me to change and we'll sneak out the window." I nodded and as much as I wouldn't mind to see her body more, I waited in the bathroom that connected to her room.
SAMANTHAS POV
I changed and told mitch that he could come out.
I grabbed my knife and gun,and gave Mitch a spear of each.We stayed until everyone was asleep or that we thought was, which was around ten o'clock. Everyone sort of goes to sleep early so we're prepared for getting up early in the morning.
We snuck out of the house, through the window and got into the car. Mitch drove as I told him the directions.
"Why are you helping me?" He asked bluntly. "Because you're my recruit." "That's it?" He looked at me. I looked back and stared into his honey brown eyes. Sure, there were other reasons, like Victor. I wanted to get revenge for my friend, but I decided not to say anything.
"Eyes on the road buddy." He took a minute before looking back at the road.
