I sat at the bar with my head held low deep in my thoughts. I hadn't had anything stronger than a Long Island tea. I did want to get drunk but I'm sure that would have consequences. I text my husband letting him know I was headed home. I left a tip for the bartender and headed to the door.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around. "Hi", I said with a worried look. A tall brown skin woman stood before me. "I didn't mean to scare to you. I'm Giselle", she stuck her hand out. I wasn't going to respond but she seemed friendly. I shake her hand and she gives me a smile. "I wanted to buy you a drink if that's ok with you?", I look at my watch. I should've said no but I nodded following her to the bar.

She watched me intently as I sat down. I smiled shyly not trying to make things weird. I wasn't into women but she made the idea seem worthwhile. "So why's a beautiful woman like you alone on a Friday night?", she asks. I smiled at her comment. "Maybe I like being alone", I said looking everywhere but in her direction. "Well I'm going to change that", she called the bartender over. "I'll have 2 shots and whatever the lady wants", she looks to me. I shake my head. I was not getting drunk tonight, nor was I letting this stranger buy me anything. "She'll have a Long Island, a martini, and a margarita", the bartender began making the drinks.

"I'm not drinking any of that you know", I told her. She laughed as if I was lying. "Did you really waste my money?", she asked me. I laughed at how dramatic she was being. "Can you believe she won't accept my drink?", she asked a random guy beside her. "That's crazy", the guy laughed shaking his head encouraging her. I smiled at her effort to make me smile. "That's what I like to see", she locked eyes with me. She had the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. I smiled shyly looking away. "Fine I'll have 1 drink that's it", she cheers.

We were now on our 5th round of martinis. I had forgot all about my non drinking rule tonight. I ordered another round but Giselle told the waiter no. "Come on, don't be a wimp now", I slurred my words. "You're more fucked up then me right now. I'm sparing you", I laugh. She was right, I couldn't even lift my legs to walk right now. I didn't want to ask for help because I was embarrassed.

My phone rang and I knew who it was, my husband. He's probably furious at me right now. "You gonna get that?", she looked at my phone. "No, it's not that important", I turned it off completely. She stared at me with low eyes that said ALOT, without ever speaking a word. I stared back and she smiled calling the bartender over. "We're leaving", she handed him a ton of money he didn't need. She stood up and waited for me to do the same. How could I tell her I was too drunk to stand up? I patted next to me for some time and she finally sat down. "I can't walk, I'm glued to this thing", she quietly laughs. "It's fine, I'll carry you", I look at her crazy. "Really?", she nods and I smile since she was serious. She lowered down and let me get on her back.

She held my legs as she walked us out the bar. "Guide me", I point to my car across the street. She jogs and I laugh while leaning back. The street lights were so much prettier while I was drunk. They were like twinkling stars or something. "Keys", I hand her my purse. She unlocks my car and sits me in the passenger seat. "I'll take these", she took my heels off and my feet felt so much better. "Thank you", I rub her face. She closes my door and gets in the car starting it up. "Where do you live?", I pause. I can't take her home, my husbands there! So I panicked, "Let's go to your place", she smirked. "Nothing but a word", she pulled out of the parking lot.

I must've fell asleep because I don't remember the ride to her house. Hell I don't even remember what the outside of her place looked like. I look down at the white tee shirt in embarrassment, since Giselle changed me into it. She slept next to me naked, which wasn't so bad. "Giselle", I whisper shaking her to wake up. She groaned but stayed asleep, I guess I'd let her sleep. I walked around admiring her house, all while finding my clothes every step of the way. She seemed amazing and like someone who lived an amazing life, I wish I could stay with her but I couldn't. My life has been planned out for me since I was 6 years old, and I've agreed to it every year since. Giselle sadly wasn't in that plan. I wrote a note to her so this wouldn't be a total one night stand. Thanks for last night, I had so much fun! See you around- Nicki

My phone rang and it was my husband. I looked at my notifications and he called me 178 times. Who even had that much time on their hands? My heart hurt just at the thought of hearing him yell. He was like this noise that never stopped. I crank the car up and headed home. It took me some time to find my way which earned me more calls and angry text.

"Where have you been?", my husband sat on the front porch. "At my sister's house, her and Dee were having a little trouble", I lie. He looks at me and waits for something. "So...why was your phone off? Why not text me?", he came closer. "She turned it off, said she needed me all to herself", I laugh knowing this was the perfect lie. I didn't usually lie, but this time I had to. "Well I'm glad she had you", he hugged me. "She's doing much better, but Dee won't be after their done talking", he laughs. "Those two need counseling and tons of therapy", I agreed. He followed me in the house and I smelled breakfast immediately. "I stayed up all morning making my beautiful wife breakfast", he seemed so proud. I smiled because this is the nicest thing he's done all week. "We have a board meeting today about the new clients, and I wanted you to come", he sat my plate in front of me. "Is my presence REALLY needed? I mean the church has so many people who would love to take my place", I dug into my food. "I want you there", I laughed. He took my food throwing it into the trash. "You shouldn't eat it all, you've been gaining lately", I cry because I know where this was headed. He would start to make comments about my appearance until I gave in, so I did. "Fine, I'll go with you", I sigh going upstairs to shower and change.
