Episode 10

 🕊 ꒰ 𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 ꒱ ☁️

"But Y/N-San- Those are the messages the orders from our dying president.. Maybe we should look for a way to capture the gifted who controls the virus?"

"We've already tried that", you stated.

"The enemy is as crafty as it can be. It will be impossible to uproot all of his meticulously prepared traps in time," Ranpo added.

"Even for you?" Atsushi asked.

"I say this because I would know" He replied, "That said, this is a flagrant violation of orders"

"This?" Kunikida questions.

"So, decide for yourselves whether you're participating or not"

"Are you telling us to choose between fighting the Port Mafia or not?"

"That's right" You reply, "We don't have to think about it though.. If the Port Mafia finds out that our president is in a space ability space, they'll move to making threats".

You sighed as you observed and remembered more, "The employees' family members, friends and loved ones will be taken hostage.. If we don't hand over the president, they'll threaten to kill them one by one. If that happens, even the Detective Agency will have no choice but to buckle"

You looked at Tanizaki while he got up, "I'll do it. At the end of the day, we only know how to protect people by hurting people"

You closed your eyes as everyone chose to join.. Well, everyone except Kunikida and Atsushi.

Ranpo opened the door as you and Atsushi looked at Kunikida.

"It's okay Kunikida-Senpai.. I will avenge her for you." You smiled as you and Atsushi got off, he just looked at you surprised, as a person who had gone through the same things, it was amazing how you still had your confidence and were willing to do that.

The truth was, you weren't confident at all, but you want to stop any death that could take place. Fyodor couldn't break you when you were already broken. You caught up to Kenji-Kun as Atsushi followed you.

"Do you have a plan Atsushi-Kun?", you asked since you noticed how deep in thought he was. 

"Well.. I'll think of something"

After a few moments a silence, Ranpo decided to say something.

"Remember when you asked Katai to investigate the Rats in the House of the Dead?"

Atsushi's eyes widened as he Ranpo continued.

"That investigation has been ongoing, hasn't it? There's a slim chance that Katai has figured out the mastermind's location. I'll leave that to you and Y/N"

"Eh, why me-?", you asked him.

"You know who the mastermind is, you might recognise him and understand him.. We will be able to manage Port Mafia."

"I see, okay then.. Ranpo-San?"

"Hm?"

"You're gonna go for Chuuya, aren't you?", you smirked.

He nodded, a bit surprised but impressed that you figured that out.

"Don't forget to mention Dazai," You slightly laughed as you tried lighting the mood.

"Katai-San I am coming in"

You tried to find him around the house but unfortunately you couldn't.

"He's gone.." You affirmed. According to others, he wasn't the type to leave his futon. You turned around as you saw Kunikida enter the room.

"Kunikida-San?" You and Atsushi asked at the same time.

"Katai-San not here," Atsushi informed him, "Where could he be?"

He went inside the room as he broke the wall. You and Atsushi, both gave him a weird look until you realised what he did. 

"What's that?" Atsushi asked.

Kunikida explained how Katai records the footage of his room and what all happens. Basically meaning that he can see what happened.

You got a sudden headache as you rubbed your head. Atsushi started questioning Kunikida a bit more while you sat next to him.

The footage showed how Katai gets shot, as a reflex, Kunikida takes the blanket away only to see blood.

The president wakes up as he puts on his blanket to Lucy who was 'asleep'.

He takes his katana and starts walking away but then he hears Lucy ask him, "I won't stop you. I am not a Detective Agency employee. But I took care of you, so you could at least tell me where you're going"

He took some time to answer that but he did, "I am going to meet an old friend"
