to be close to you "

ELLIE SQUEEZED BLAKE'S hand as they looked down at the body of Yondu. The blue alien was surrounded by various objects and was covered in ceremonial ribbons and straps of a Ravager.

Everyone was cleaned up from the battle, Mantis had woken up and Ellie only had a small concussion. Peter stood at Yondu's head, Blake, Ellie, and Rocket on one side. Kraglin stood at his feet, Drax, Mantis, and Gamora on the other side.

"I told Gamora how when I was a kid I used to pretend David Hasselhoff was my dad," Peter spoke.

Rocket and Drax looked at each other with knitted brows.

"He's a singer and actor from Earth, really famous guy." Blake quietly explained.

"Earlier, it struck me...Yondu didn't have a talking car, but he did have a flying arrow. He didn't have the beautiful voice of an angel, but he did have the whistle of one. Both Yondu and David Hasselhoff went on kick-ass adventures and hooked up with hot women...and fought robots." Peter looked over at Blake, who was already looking at his older brother, tears staining their eyes. "I guess David Hasselhoff did kind of end up being our dad after all." Peter looked back down at Yondu. "Only it was you, Yondu." Peter swallowed thickly. "We had a pretty cool dad."

Blake pulled Peter into a hug. They patted each other's backs to hide their sniffles, glad they were together at such a time.

"Damn right, we did," Blake mumbled, pulling away and patting Peter's shoulder taking Ellie's hand once again.

Peter nodded, sniffling once more. "What I'm trying to say here is sometimes that thing you're searching for your whole life it's right there by your side all along. You don't even know it."

Gamora sniffled before swiftly leaving the room to go after Nebula.

"I am Groot," Groot said from Ellie's shoulder, which he hadn't left once Ellie was done getting checked out after the fight.

Rocket nodded. "He did call you twig."

Ellie and Blake had walked to a separate room, at Blake's request to get some air.

"How are you doing?" Ellie asked quietly, leaning against the wall by the window Blake stared out of, she watched his face go from pinched and frigid to suddenly relaxed. Blake turned to her, a small smile gracing his lips.

"I'm okay." He replied and Ellie tilted her head at him. "Truly, I am."

Ellie smiled and wrapped her arms around his waist with a sigh. She cringed, pulling away from Blake's embrace as she looked up at him.

"Sorry about all the...um, stuff that I said after I had just woken up during the fight."

"To what stuff are you referring to?" Blake asked with a smirk.

Ellie rolled her eyes, taking a couple of steps away from him so she didn't have to look up at him as much. "Oh, you know...the-the stuff." She said again, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Oh!" Blake gasped as if he just remembered, although he clearly remembered the stuff that she was talking about. "Do you mean when you called me handsome?" he asked, hooking his pointer finger through the loop of her black jeans. Ellie rolled her eyes although her stomach twisted in knots. "Or when you called me your pretty boy?" He hooked his other pointer finger through a loop on the other side, making her stumble as he pulled her towards him, catching herself by placing her hands on his chest. "Or was it when you talked about my muscles?" Blake made an exaggerated thinking face. "If I recall correctly you said you would give anything..." Blake leaned down closer to Ellie's face, which was a shiny bright red at this point, his warm hands staying on the edge of her hips. "-to see what's under all this fabric." He finished, his smirk still beaming.

"I...may have said those things," Ellie said softly, swallowing thickly after she finished. Blake's smirk faltered for a moment.

"Did you mean it?"

Ellie looked between his eyes, down to his lips for a moment then back at his eyes. "Maybe...Do you want me to mean it?"

Blake's smirk reappeared, his hand sneaking up to cup her cheek. "Maybe."

As they started to lean in, the pair heard the sound of high pitch wiring and a cocking of a gun.

"Step away from my Ellie and maybe," Rocket mocked. "-I won't shoot your ass where you stand."

"Rocket," Ellie sighed, a bit mad that he had ruined their moment. Blake on the other hand, happily took a HUGE step away from Ellie. His hands were up in surrender and his eyes wide.

"There you go," Rocket smiled. "Now see this great space." Rocket motioned to the empty area between the two teens with his gun. "It's called a personal bubble, dickhead. Try to remember that when you're around her. Okay?"

"What if I want him to be in my personal bubble?" Ellie quizzed, raising her eyebrow at the raccoon.

"Trust me, you don't want someone related to Peter Quill, in your personal bubble." Rocket laughed.

"Oh, but I do." Ellie made a pouting face. "See," Ellie placed her hand on Blake's arm, pulling it down to hold his hand.

"Els," Blake warned, eyes trained on Rocket and the gun still pointed at him. "Ellie get off."

"Sh, it's fine." She whispered back, intertwining their hands. Rocket grumbled.

"Ellie, he's got a gun."

"He's not going to kill you."

"I doubt that."

"Rocket, I want him in my bubble," Ellie said, resting her head against the boy's arm.

Rocket looked between the two, narrowing his eyes at Blake.

"Fine," Rocket sighed. "But I got two things." Ellie rolled her eyes. "Just two, that's all I'm asking for. One, not around me. I don't want to see it or hear it. And two-" Rocket set his deathly glare back on Blake. "If you ever hurt her, I will murder you so slowly you will still be in agonizing pain in whatever after-life you end up in. And then I will sell your body parts to the most hideous disgusting people so I can make a profit out of all the work it took to kill you. Understand?"

While Blake held an expression of more horrificness, Ellie held more disgust. Blake knew he would never do anything to hurt Ellie, but God, did it terrify him to think of what could happen if he did?

"You're so graphic Rocket." Ellies scoffed, rolling her eyes. Rocket's glare stayed set on the tall teenager.

"Do you understand ass-face or do I need to make my threat more clear?" Rocket asked, powering up the gun once again.

"I understand!" Blake quickly scrambled to say, finally snapping out of his fear.

"Good," Rocket smiled, lowering the gun. "Now," he sighed, gesturing towards the steps. "Let's go by everyone else, 'cause I don't like whatever your conversation was heading before I stopped it."

Blake quickly followed Rocket's orders, dragging Ellie with him by her hand. She didn't get away though before sticking her tongue out at Rocket who rolled his eyes at the girl.

"Teenagers," Rocket scoffed before following them up the steps. He widened his eyes at the sight of hundreds of Ravager ships surrounding them. "They came," Rocket said happily as the three walked to the front of the ship.

"What is it?" Drax asked.

"I sent word to Yondu's old Ravager buddies, and told them what he did." Rocket explained. Everyone gathered at the large window to see the spectacle. Peter stood behind Ellie, which let Groot travel from Peter's shoulder to the short teenager, twirling in her hair as he landed.

"It's a Ravager funeral."

The hundreds of ships set off colorful fireworks.

"It's beautiful," Ellie sighed, taking in the sights of the fireworks. Blake smiled down at her, he quickly looked around to see that Rocket's attention was completely on the fireworks before placing a kiss in Ellie's hair.

"He didn't chase them away." Rocket sighed.

"No," Peter replied in awe at the ships.

"Even though he yelled at them. And was always mean. And he stole batteries he didn't need."

Peter's gaze went to the back of Rocket's head, the raccoon keeping his sight out to the fireworks.

"Well, of course not."

Groot yawned from Ellie's shoulder, nuzzling into her hair for warmth.

Ellie smiled as she watched the fireworks, wrapping an arm around Blake as she nestled into his side a content sigh escaping her lips.

She had everything she needed right here, in the front of this ship. She had Blake, Groot and Rocket. She had a family who loved her and they were all still here. She was very grateful for that.
