The next day, the Christmas spirit was in every other home except yours. Yelena was avoiding you as she had locked herself in her room.

You were lying upside down on the couch, recalling last night's events. Tears stung the corners of your eyes at the mere memory.

Fanny approached you from the kitchen and began to nudge you with her snout, licking at your tears.

"Fanny," you scrunched your face, trying to push her away, "Fanny, stop it,"

You rolled on the couch and pushed yourself to sit upright, resting your elbows on your knees.

"We need to move, you know,"

You looked up and saw Yelena approach you as she walked out of her room.

"I know, I know," you sighed, "It's just that last nightโ€”"

"โ€”was a mess," Yelena completed, pouring herself a shot from the bottle on the kitchen counter, "But our contract's ending like within a couple of days. So get your ass up and go pack,"

Given that Kate's mom was now arrested by the authorities, Clint had offered Kate to stay over with his family. Kate had named the dog Lucky and taken it too with herself with Clint.

Kate bonded quickly with the Barton's and Laura welcomed her with open arms. the kids too had taken a quick liking to her, despite the fact that it was because of her that their father couldn't come home for Christmas.

Later in the day, Clint had called Kate along with him to the back of the house. He set the Ronan's suit on a barbeque grill, "Well, I figured you'd like to help me end what you started," he drizzled a bottle of fuel on top of it and handed her a matchbox.

Kate took it from him with a displeased expression. She lit a match and hurled it at the suit. Both of them watched as it caught fire and began to reduce to ashes.

"So should I say a few words, or," Kate commented, earning a small smirk from him, "Can I ask you something?"

Clint nodded, "Sure,"

Kate took a deep breath, "Is it kind of bad that you catch feelings for your opposer? Is it like an Avenger-crime or something? Like you're not supposed to like your enemy. Like you're not supposed to show them any kind of mercy or affection,"

Clint blinked at her with a weird look, "It's Y/N, isn't it?"

She winced, "Damn it. Yeah, yeah it's her,"
