twenty twenty-two, a new year. and lot had changed for all girls

everyone's birthday had passed and they were all a year older than before, all of their relationships were stronger than ever, and everyone careers were skyrocketing off

specifically austin's

today was the premiere of his movie that he had spent the last three years working on

della had supported him all the way through everything and they both could not believe this day was here already

the first premiere of "Elvis" was happening at cannes film festival

both were currently talking to austins team about what's going to happen when they get there

della and austin are going to get out together, get into cannes and take a few photos. then she is going to stay behind and find people to talk to, while austin finds his castmates and takes pictures with everyone

after they go inside the two will find each other and sit together while the movie is shown to everyone

"austin, pleaseee boy stop talking and listen to them, i will literally have my eyes on you the whole time. you need to get photos with your people."

the woman looked her boyfriend in the eye, who was right now fighting the idea of them separating paths

he huffed and pulled her in by the waist "you're my person. and i want you with me at this, just like you've this whole time."

"ok do not make me cry." she wrapped her arms around his shoulders but then pulled away with a serious face "but i'm also not in the movie and i thinkkk that's why you're here. so we will split up so you can take photos then meet back. end of discussion."

as soon as she was done speaking austin rolled his eyes, making della sigh

he was starting to get really overwhelmed with all the loud chatter today and the 20 people in their hotel room constantly walking by him, and all he really desired was to have della by his side.

he was done with all of this

like really done. dropping his arm from della's waist the blonde man walked to the bedroom and closed the doors

leaving the monet girl to stand there with everyone going silent

quickly she signaled for all of them to leave and go out to the hall, which was kinda a big ask but she cared more about her man than that right now

she walked to the bedroom going over to him

"aus." to her call he didn't say anything. she stood in front of him, grabbing his hands. for a moment he kept looking at the ground and she waited before saying anything

once she did she bent down to be at him level "i am sorry austin. i know how important and how much this day means for you. i want to make this day all about you because you have put in the most work and then i just totally just disregarded your feelings. i was just trying to help, but i should've been more understanding. i'm so sorry."

austin finally looked up his blue eyes softening as he heard her words. he squeezed her hands gently leaning his forehead against hers

"it's not your fault della. i'm just overwhelmed. it's so much, everyone asking things, the pressure of this film, and then the thought of not having you right next to me...it's just too much."

he trailed off and she stood up and cupped his face, standing between his legs

"you'll always have me austin." she whispered, brushing a stray strand of his blonde hair back. "i'm here no matter what, but you've worked so hard for this moment, and the fans the cast, they all want to see you shine. you deserve it and i'll be right there watching you."

he took a deep breath, her words calming the storm brewing in his mind. "i don't know what i'd do without you."

della laughed and nudged him "oh everything would go to shit." she smiled her playful tone breaking some of the tension

a small chuckle escaped him, and he shook his head. "what did i do to deserve you?"

the monet girl flipped her hair "you got really lucky. like insanely lucky. " she teased making him laugh for real this time

"ok ok" austin agreed to the plan and his mood was visibly better. "i'll go take the photos and do the cast thing, but only because you'll be watching."

"damn right i will." she grinned and pulled him to his feet. "and don't forget, you're the king. you're playing the elvis presley. now go show everyone why you're perfect for the role."

austin smirked, his confidence obviously back as he kissed her. "thank you amor. i mean it."

as they stepped out of the room, the team began to file back in, relieved to see austin looking calmer. della gave him a reassuring nod, and they headed down to the car waiting to take them to the premiere

the energy at cannes was electric. the flashing lights, screams of excitement, and crowd of fans that seemed to stretch forever

della stepped out of the car first, her silver dress shimmering under the lights

designed by nova, of course. she reached out for austin who jumped out right after her, the two receiveing cheers from the crowd

austin looked sharp in his custom black tuxedo, his hair grown out and all over the place

his hand found della's as they walked toward the carpet, pausing to wave at the fans

"we love you, della!" someone shouted and she turned flashing a bright smile. "i love you too!" she called back, blowing kisses

nova trailed behind them and gave della a playful nudge. "ok don't steal his thunder, miss world's most famous model."

"please." della laughed, "you designed this dress, i'm only half the star here."

austin grinned at their banter and seemed visibly relaxed as they posed for photos together. della leaned over to whisper "see you're killing it."

"it's only because you're here." he murmured back earning a playful eye-roll from her the fans were going crazy seeing the two interact and share a cute moment

once they reached the main carpet, austin's team guided him toward his castmates and della stepped back, giving him an encouraging nod

she immediately turned to the fans lining the barricades, walking over with nova to chat with them

the yells pulled her and her friend over to them

she went up to someone who was crying and saying how amazing austin is. della laughed and hugged her "yes he is amazing isn't he?" she said, signing an autograph for a young girl holding an elvis poster. "i can't wait for you all to see it. he worked so hard."

nova joined her pulling out her phone to record some of the interactions. "and this is why you're a fan favorite girl" she teased

once the movie ended everyone stood up and was cheering

the film earned a standing ovation that seemed to go on forever, 12 minutes to be precise. it was the loudest crowd they had ever heard

austin sat next to della, his hand gripping hers tightly as he tried to process the overwhelming applause

"they loved it" della whispered her eyes glistening with tears of pride. "we loved it!" nova chimed in from the other side, dabbing her eyes with a tissue. "oh my god you were incredible austin."

the man laughed and said thank you to her

he was so overwhelmed from the loud dedication of the crowd and their cheers

tears began to gather in his eyes and he looked up to the sky wishing his mom was with him. after a moment he turned to della and she gave him a big bear hug and kissed him

at that the cheers only grew louder

when they finally left the theater the three of them returned to the hotel

exhausted but still buzzing from exhilarattion austin flopped onto the couch, and milo jumped up beside him

della kicked off her heels, sitting beside him and handing him a glass of water. "how do you feel king?"

she laughed and he pulled her in by the waist "like i just ran a marathon" he admitted, leaning his head back.

"and did." nova added, plopping down on the armrest. della looked at her friend and rolled her eyes "girl shut your unserious ass up. but seriously though, the reaction was insane. you've officially started you're journing to being on top of the world."

austin laughed and shook his head

he glanced at della his expression soft. "i am. because i have you."

and della wrapped her arm around his neck and pulled him into a make out. after a moment they pulled apart and heard gagging

"ok you're both disgusting!" nova groaned, getting up and grabbing a throw pillow to chuck at them

della laughed, leaning her head on austin's shoulder. "girl you're mad your man isn't her, you'd be doing the same thing."

her friend rolled her eyes before going over to the couple "probably worse actually. but moving on we're proud of you austin, and this is just the beginning."

"as long as you're with me, i'll be fine." he smiled wrapping an arm around della

"always." she promised, as milo barked in agreement, their little family savoring the moment before the whirlwind of premieres continued
