hi bubsss! wow this chapter is LONG.

it's pretty intense and ummm intense๐Ÿ˜„

goodluck๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

"Alright alright I'm ready!" Pansy groans annoyedly, grabbing her coat quickly.

The third and final task was to take place in about 10 minutes, yet Pansy and I were still in our dorm, hurrying to get ready.

"Merlin the boys are gonna kill us-" I sigh before we both sprint out of the dorm and to the common room where Draco, Blaise, and Theo all stand impatiently for us.

"Any reasonable excuses?" Theo quirks his eyebrow while turning around to leave the common room, everyone following behind him.

"None that you'd like to hear," I squint my eyes at him sassily.

"You're correct about that," He scrunches his nose up sassily back to me.

It was funny how similar Theo and I's sense of humor was. We acted like sister and brother, always making fun of each other or starting stupid little tantrums.

The group continues to quickly speed through the castle, before a small gasp leaves me. "Shit-" I mutter under my breath, my body freezing. "I forgot my coat- I'll be back," I say quickly before turning around and running back to the dorms.

I hear a small annoyed groan leave everybody in the group before I turn the corner of a corridor, my feet moving quicker than my brain.

If it wasn't for my many suspicions of Professor Moody, I never would've noticed his croaky voice in one of the empty corridors near me.

My feet begin to slow down as I try to keep my panting quiet.

"Yes yes its all set up." Moody growls impatiently, talking to some other person in the corridor.

I slowly move closer to the corridor, my back sliding against the cold castle walls, as I make sure I'm not heard nor seen.

"What if it doesn't work?" A nervous man speaks, who I couldn't recognize the voice of.

"The Dark Lord himself taught me how to set up portkeys, I'm sure it will work." Moody croaks back.

What the hell.

Voldemort? Taught Mad-Eye Moody?

My brain goes wild with thoughts of what he meant. I knew what portkeys were. They were some sort of object that when touched would transport you to somewhere else, specifically wherever the creator made it to transport you to. But why was there a portkey in the first place? And why the hell did Voldemort teach Professor Moody how to make one?

From the information I got from students talking about Moody, I learned he was an Auror. An Auror meant someone who fought off dark magic. The exact thing Voldemort aimed to rise up with.

I cant really imagine Moody and Voldemort having a nice cup of tea together for the one with dark magic to teach the one who hated dark magic how to do something.

"And its at the center of the maze? How will you be sure the other champions wont get it?" The nervous man asks, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"I've set traps up for each of them, and taught Potter all of the spells he'll need to use." Moody announces quite proudly. I cant hear exactly whats happening, though it sounds as if a flask opening.

The flask.

Oh my Merlin-

It all slowly started to hit me, my heartbeat quickening by the second.

Polyjuice potion. Moody wasn't Moody.

Portkey. The Triwizard cup was the portkey.

Potter. Harry was going to touch the portkey.

I have to blink a few times to get my brain back where I needed it.

My feet slowly start to move away from the corridor, though once I know I'm out of earshot, I begin to sprint.

I knew everything.

I was the only person who knew everything.

It doesn't take me long at all to get where everyone is seated in front of the maze for the third task, as my adrenaline was beyond high from all the panic.

Once I get there, Dumbledore has already started his speech about the task. He announces that Harry and Cedric will get a head start as they placed the top two scores last task, which only fills me with more anxiety.

Harry was going to touch the portkey. He was going to be transported somewhere. Somewhere I could only assume Voldemort was at too, awaiting Harry to soon arrive at.

No. No. No. This cannot happen.

I hide behind a group of trees, not wanting anyone to see me as I take a long look at the maze. There was large, tall, bush walls surrounding whatever was in the maze. I didn't know what was in the maze, though from Moody saying that he's "taught Potter all the spells he'll need to use" made me think that there were definitely some obstacles in their way.

My eyes move down to look at the extremely nervous looking Harry. He looks like he knows whats coming, but he doesn't. He's nervous for all the creatures in the maze that may hurt him. What he doesn't know is that there's a whole wizard aiming to kill him once he 'wins' the task.

I bite on the inside of my cheek, trying to think of something to do to help the situation.

I knew I'd be shut down immediately if I ran up there and claimed that Moody was an imposter, and that Voldemort was going to kill Harry. So that wasn't going to work.

The only other plan that came to mind was going into the maze. Warning Harry of what was to come, and stop him from getting the cup.

How the hell would I do that though?

Once again, running up there and attempting to enter the maze would be a total fail. They'd get me out of there without a second thought.

I needed to somehow get in there. I needed to transport, really. Appear.

My eyes widen as I realize a way to get in.

Cedric and Harry begin to slowly walk toward the entrance of the maze, each in their own path. I memorize what the path looks like. The tall bush walls. The dark atmosphere once you entered. The goal to get in.

Before I know it, the maze entrances are closing. I grip my wand tightly in my hand and mutter encouraging words under my breath.

Focus.

Tall bush walls.

Dark atmosphere.

Harry.

Tall bush walls.

Dark atmosphere.

Saving Harry- and Cedric.

I slowly open my eyes, a small gasp leaving me as I'm right where I imagined myself to be. I apparated... again.

"Uh- Y/n?" A confused voice asks me, causing me to slowly turn around.

Shit.

I apparated to Cedric instead of Harry.

"Oh you're kidding me-" I mutter under my breath, tapping my wand anxiously on my leg.

"Why are you here? Did you get trapped or something?" Cedric asks, taking a step closer to me as to see if I was injured.

"No- no I'm fine. I know this sounds crazy, Cedric, but we need to save Harry. This whole thing is a set up," I glance around the maze. "The cup at the center? Its a portkey. If Harry touches it he'll be transported somewhere- and I'm not sure where but your guess is as good as mine." I say slightly out of breath and a little nauseous from the sudden apparation.

"Why- how do you- how do you know this?" Cedric asks, gripping his wand a little tighter in his hand.

"Well- I can't- I can't explain it all. Not right now. You just have to trust me, Cedric," I meet his eyes. "Please. For Harry if not for me."

He searches between my eyes, bouncing anxiously on his feet. "How do we save him?"

A sense of relief washes over me as I realize he's in for my stupid and horribly developed plan. "We get to the cup. Before he does." A small sigh leaves me.

Cedric nods before quickly turning around, beginning to walk through the maze. There was no other way. We had to get through the maze. And before Harry does.

"Lumos," We both mutter under our breath, the tip of our wands creating a source of light to see through the dark maze.

We begin to slowly walk, before we hear a whistle go off, intending that Krum was now in the maze. Something about this made both of us panic slightly, beginning to walk much quicker. We take a few rights, our sight and hearing alert to any obstacle that may come.

We make a sharp left turn before a large scorpion looking creature begins to approach us.

Blast-ended Skrewt.

"Stupefy!" Cedric yells, pointing his wand to the large creature.

Nothing.

The creature begins to approach us even quicker, its many legs all crawling towards us with anger.

"Impedimenta!" I yell at the creature, sticking my wand out with force.

It freezes immediately, falling to its back, its pokey legs sticking up.

"Nice one," Cedric whispers before continuing to walk through the path.

"Thanks..." I glance at him, not sure how to take a compliment at this moment.

We walk for awhile longer, our fast pace only becoming quicker as we continue through the maze. Theres a few dead ends that we run in to, though it doesn't stop our motivation to get there before Harry.

A few more rights. A few more lefts.

My walking slowly stops as I hear some sort of crawling sound. It sounded similar to the Blast-ended Skrewt walking, though not exactly the same.

Cedric slowly stops as well, both of our mouths hanging open as a giant spider turns a corner near us. The creature had yet to notice us, though it did look as if it was searching for someone to attack.

I slowly back up to one of the bush walls, holding my arm out to walk Cedric back as well, my eyes never leaving the spider. We hide against the wall, the plants barely covering us as a loud scream suddenly fills the maze. The spider immediately starts hurrying toward the noise, away from us.

A breath of relief leaves my lips as I slowly walk out to look at where the spider once was. "That was close," I whisper as Cedric slowly walks to stand next to me.

"No kidding," He pants quietly, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Who do you think the screaming was?" I ask, glancing down a few paths near us.

"Fleur. I can tell." His brows furrow with concern as his eyes move around the maze.

The screaming had stopped by now and as a wave of silence washes over us, I can tell we're both contemplating whether we should try to help her or not.

"Harry. We're here for Harry." I whisper, mostly for myself though Cedric's slow nodding lets me know he needed the reminder as well.

We begin quickly walking down a few more paths, before we make it do a dead end. A quiet frustrated huff comes from Cedric, as I stare at the wall.

Nothing seemed to be working. We'd repeat going through the same paths over and over until we'd eventually hit a dead end.

"It's okay. We've got this. We've got to got this." I bite the inside of my cheek, looking up and down the wall as I think of where we've been in the maze.

It was a total of four rights that we took before that one left that lead us to the Blast-ended Skrewt. Then we continued down that left and took two more lefts. Three rights. Four lefts. One left. Dead end. Two rights. Three lefts. Giant spider. Two rights again. One left. Dead end.

"Crucio!" A voice distracts me from my navigation.

Before I can process whats happening, Cedric is crawled up on the floor next to me, loud screams leaving him as he turns and tosses in pain. My breath hitches at the sight before I quickly turn my head to see Krum pointing his wand at the boy.

"Stupefy!" I scream at him before he can cast a spell my way.

A red light jets out of my wand, sending Krum backwards and unconscious. Cedric's screams stop too, though small whimpers still leave him as he recovers.

I drop to my knees to sit next to him, trying to think of ways to comfort him or help his recovery. "Deep breaths, Cedric, deep breaths."

He breathes in through his nose and shakily exhaled through his mouth, slowly sitting up. "I'm okay I'm okay- we gotta keep going," He struggles to stand up, though once he does he's back in action.

If it wasn't for the life or death situation we were in, I'd let him rest. I'd encourage him to rest, even. But that wasn't an option. We had to keep going, to save Harry.

"You think we should send help for him?" I ask quietly, glancing down at Krum's unconscious body.

"Hell no," Cedric huffs, only glancing at him for a mere second before his jaw tenses up and he begins to walk away.

I give him a small nod before we continue to walk through the maze. My anxiety was at a high now from the usage of an unforgivable curse that I had just seen, though I take deep and shaky breaths to try and calm myself.

Right right. Left. Right right right right. Left Left.

The ways we turn repeat in my mind as I try to keep track of where we've been before as to help us possibly not get lost again. For some strange reason, it felt like we were getting somewhere, that's what I told myself at least.

We turn left again, picking up our pace slightly, Cedric a few feet ahead of me, his wand held out to produce light. I glance behind me as my brain has convinced me that theres something there, though theres nothing.

Nothing until I look back in front of me, that is.

A large and tall forest troll steps in front of me, blocking me from continuing on in the maze. A small gasp leaves me as I stare up at the troll, regretting my choice not to stick right by Cedric as he was now on the other side of the troll.

"Y/n?!" I hear Cedric yell from the other side of the giant, green skinned troll.

"I'm fine- I'm fine! Just keep going!" I yell back, a small huff of air leaving me.

"But-" I hear Cedric start to protest before he takes in a deep breath, realizing I was right. "Alright alright but just- Merlin just- be careful." He yells to me, and I can practically hear his voice bouncing with anxiety.

"No promises!" I yell back though soon realize that was probably the worst response I could've had.

"I'm serious Y/n!" Cedric yells, though he sounds farther away, meaning he's following my instructions of continuing to go through the maze.

A sigh of relief leaves me, though I soon tense up again as the troll begins to step closer to me.

Think, think, think.

"Reducio!" I yell at the troll instinctively, my wand pointed at its large body.

The troll immediately shrinks, before it looks around confusedly at its hands and me.

"Nice try," I quirk an eyebrow at the creature. "Try anything again and you'll be covered in boils within seconds."

The once large though now tiny troll backs away from me, fear filling its eyes.

"Wait-" I think out loud. "I'm not done with you..." My brows furrow slightly as a small plan develops in my head. "You- you bring me to the center of the maze." I hesitantly point my wand at the creature.

It nods quickly and fearfully before turning around and leading me through many more different paths. There was no way to tell if the troll was actually leading me to the cup, though its all I had. A small troll, who's intentions were controlled by fear.

We continue to walk through the maze, slight hope filling within me as I begin to spot places and things I haven't seen before. The troll seems confident in where its going, never hesitant at a turn, and its small feet never stopping.

Before I can fully process whats happening I see him. Harry. And with a small glance to the other side I see another boy. Cedric.

My heart begins to race, seeming as if it were to pop out of my chest as we all silently stare at each other, all coming to the end of our paths. Only about 10 feet from Harry was the cup. I was to the left of him, Cedric to his right.

Harry gives me a confused glance before his eyes set back upon the Triwizard cup. Though it wasn't just the Triwizard cup. No, it was a fucking portkey that would lead to Harry's possible death.

My eyes widen as I watch Harry begin to sprint. Sprint to the cup. Sprint to the portkey. Sprint to his possible death.

Cedric and I immediately start racing after him, continuously yelling for him to stop.

It was only seconds after he began running that his fingers were inches away from touching the cup. I lift my feet off the ground, hurling myself at him and the cup before my insides feel as though they're being twisted in every direction.

A small bit of nausea takes over my body, as I slowly and dizzily stand up from the ground I had just fallen on.

My eyes slowly take in the graveyard I was in, Harry and Cedric slowly standing up as well.

"Wha- How are you- Where are we-?" Harry stutters, looking at me before slowly craning his head to all the graves around us.

"Someone's coming," Cedric says, backing up slowly as a short man with a black cloak approaches us through the thick darkness.

My head leans forward slightly, my brows furrowing with confusion as I stare at the man. I couldn't tell who he was from the black cloak, nor what he was holding in his arms. Possibly a baby? Maybe a bundle of rags?

The man stopped at a towering marble headstone only a few feet away from us. I glance confusedly at Cedric before Harry suddenly falls to his knees, yelling with pain as his hand covers what looks like to be his scar.

I gasp quietly, bending down to my knees to try and help Harry in anyway.

"Kill the spare," A croaky, cold, dark voice says, though it doesn't seem as if its the man.

"Avada Kedavra!" The short man yells, a jet of green producing from the end of is wand and hitting Cedric.

My mouth hangs agape, my hand slowly moving to cover it as my body shakes with fear and shock.

There Cedric was. Laying lifelessly on the ground. Dead.

His eyes still open, though now they were nothing but grey. They were cold. They were dark. They were empty.

His mouth hangs slightly open, almost as if surprised, causing a small sob to leave me, though my hand covering my mouth reduces the sound.

"No- no, not that one," The cold voice croaks out, and its not until he does that I notice the short man's wand only a foot away, pointing toward my body.

I feel like I should flinch. I feel like I should be scared. But I'm not. My brain feels foggy, and my body feels numb in shock.

The short man hesitantly points his wand away from me and instead at Harry, lifting him off his feet, and levitating him to the marble headstone.

I stare at it, squinting my eyes to read a name engraved on it.

Tom Riddle.

My heart drops immediately at the familiar name, though I'm soon distracted by the sound of Harry's body slamming against the marble headstone, before the man begins to tie Harry to it with tight cords.

I wanted to do something but I felt like I couldn't. I had no idea what was going on, and my fog filled brain didn't help that. Nothing was processing.

My eyes slowly fall down to look back at Cedric's body, tears quickly filling up in my eyes.

"You! It's Wormtail- Peter Pettigrew" Harry suddenly shouts, my head quickly looking back up to him.

My brows furrow slightly with confusion as I try to think of the vaguely familiar name, though nothing comes to mind.

The man I now knew to be Wormtail glances my way, some sort of light glinting in his eyes as if reminded I was here.

"Stupefy!" He points his wand toward me, before I fly back,
