hiii bubssss! i was gonna split this chapter into two because it's a pretty long one but i ended up just writing it as one because there was no great place to stop it

once again i apologize for no song, i'll try to think of some for the next few chapters

enjoyyy!!

School started back a few days later, students telling stories of what happened on break filling up the corridors.

I had figured out after a talk with Pansy that Blaise didn't ask her to the Yule Ball as he knew that she hated grand gestures that would make everyone's attention fall on her, which made him think she actually didn't want to go with anyone at all.

I felt bad asking if they were now in a relationship. Even though Pansy had been my closest friends for three years now, it just seemed like it wasn't any of my business, especially because of my whole situation with Draco that I wasn't telling her about. If she didn't know about my love life, why should I get to know about hers?

"Y'know Hermione told me Krum isn't nearly as charming as every girl believes he is," I laugh quietly to Harry, as we lean against the railing of the bridge that leads to Hogwarts.

"All he does is watch her study as if its mesmerizing or something," Harry shakes his head slowly, chuckling softly.

"Thats the dream boy right there." I wiggle my eyebrows suggestively.

Harry and I laugh quietly to ourselves for a moment before a familiar voice comes into hearing. "Harry!"

We both turn to see Cedric jogging towards us, his cheeks red from the cold, though his Hufflepuff scarf is wrapped around his neck just like Harry's Gryffindor scarf, and my Slytherin scarf were wrapped around ours.

"Cedric?" Harry asks as he watches Cedric slow down once he reaches us, panting from his jog.

"How are you?" The Hufflepuff boy asks randomly, causing me to glance questionably at Harry.

"Uh- spectacular." Harry answers sarcastically, earning an awkward smile from the boy in front of him.

"Look I realized I never thanked you properly for telling me about the-" He glances at me for a second. "The dragons."

"Don't worry about it- I'm sure you would've done the same for me," Harry responds almost annoyedly, turning away from Cedric as to leave before the boy starts talking again.

"Thats exactly what I'm trying to do." Cedric states, Harry and I both giving him confused looks before he continues, "You know the prefects bathroom on the fifth floor?"

I glance at Harry to see his answer, noticing that his cheeks seem even redder than they were before. "Uh yeah..." He swallows thickly.

Cedric slowly leans in towards Harry's ear, a small smirk on his lips. I can't hear what he's saying, though he leans back away after a moment and begins to slowly walk away. "Just take your egg and uh mull things over. Pine fresh will get you in."

He gives me a small smile which I return before he fully turns around and walks away. Harry stays frozen, a slightly confused expression upon his face.

"What was that all about?" I ask, repositioning the scarf around my neck.

"He said to-" Harry pauses, slowly turning to face me. "He said to go uh take a bath..."

My brows furrow immediately with confusion. "He told you to take a bath? What kind of jerk-"

"No- no not like that. I think its something to do with the second task... y'know... the egg."

I nod slowly, looking around the bridge as I process everything. "So- he wants you to go to the prefects bathroom to... 'mull things over'?"

Harry inhales sharply. "I think so."

Harry ended up asking me to come with him to the prefects bathroom to test out whatever Cedric said. We agreed to meet at a specific staircase that met in the middle of our two common rooms and then something about an 'invisibility cloak' though I wasn't sure what that meant.

I don't see him anywhere near once I get to the staircase, so I stand anxiously awaiting his arrival.

"Y/n! Over here!" A voice whispers, causing my head to snap towards where I could only guess the noise came from. There was no one. It was close to pitch black too, which only made me panic more.

"Harry?" I whisper back, slowly walking forward as my head continues to look around. Its only seconds after I call out for him that I bump into a body, causing me to fall to the ground.

I hear a familiar quiet laugh, before Harry's head is in front of me. "Where the hell is your body?!" I ask in panic to Harry's head- and only Harry's head.

A large piece of invisible fabric falls off of him, revealing his body. "Right here," He grins goofily.

I exhale in relief, slowly standing up. "So thats what you meant my invisibility cloak, huh?"

Harry nods before standing up as well. He wraps the cloak around himself before opening it up for me to hide under as well. I hesitantly do so, slightly scared that it wouldn't actually work.

We make our way up to the fifth floor, tripping over each other's feet a few times along the way. On our way, we had heard Ms. Norris- Filch's cat- though never actually saw her.

"Pine fresh," Harry whispers to the fourth door that was to the left of the Boris the Bewildered statue. We hear an unlocking noise, glancing at each other before opening the door slowly and walking in.

It was not at all what I was expecting. There was a large swimming pool looking bathtub that was placed in the middle of the room, sunken into the ground. A beautiful chandelier filled with candles dimly lit up the room, making a very relaxing atmosphere.

"Wow-" I exhale as Harry slips the cloak off of us.

"Brilliant..." He gapes as his eyes glance around the room.

"I suspect being a prefect isn't nearly as bad as Ive thought it was," I say, my lips parted in shock.

"Definitely not,"

A loud screech distracts me from my amazed thoughts, as I watch who I knew to be Moaning Myrtle fly up from a drain. She acts as if she's just eaten a lemon, before a small gasp leaves her. "Oh hi there Harry," She giggles obnoxiously with her usual high pitched voice.

"Myrtle? What are you doing here?" Harry asks.

She furrows her eyebrows with anger, as if he's just said heard the most offensive question ever. "I'm allowed to visit any bathroom I'd like!" She crosses her arms over her chest with a huff.

"Uh alright then..." Harry responds, setting the egg down near the ginormous bathtub.

I walk a little forward as I stare at the many faucets surrounding the pool like tub. Harry begins turning a few of them on, clearly confused as to what he's doing. As the faucets turn on, different colored water comes out of all the them, quickly filling up the bathtub.

Myrtle gasps dramatically, flying aggressively toward me. "Why are you here?!"

"Uh- just here to help Harry," I respond, slowly backing away from her.

"'Help Harry'?! I could've helped him fine!"

"Well good to know for next time," I say, not sure what she wanted from me.

She huffs angrily, death staring at me for a moment before hesitantly flying over to Harry. "I've been so miserable smelling Polyjuice potion all the time, and all you do is invite another girl into the bathroom?!" She whines to Harry.

"Uh sorry Myrtle- I just didn't want to be lonely and I uh... didn't know you'd be here to keep me company." He responds as he waits for the bath to fill up.

Myrtle processes his response, suspicious of it for a moment before accepting it as the truth.

"Are you going to do what that Cedric boy did?" She questions, lazily floating around in the air.

"Yeah-" Harry says, acting as if he's just come up with an idea. "What did he do, Myrtle?"

"He put that golden egg under the water and went down for awhile. I thought he'd drown and then join me as a ghost in the bathroom..." She sighs loudly. "Maybe you could do that instead, Harry," She giggles.

I try to hide the creeped out look that was on my face, Harry obviously trying to do the same. He laughs awkwardly as a response before the faucets turn off by themselves, letting us know the bathtub was all filled up.

"You gonna get in?" Harry says as he takes his robes off, leaving a t-shirt and swimming trunks on.

"Nah I think Ill pass," I nod slowly, walking closer to the bathtub.

Harry nods in understanding before slowly slipping into the water. Im not sure why I was expecting the colorful water to do something to him, though it almost surprised me when he had no reaction to it.

He gestures for me to hand him the egg, which I do carefully before sitting down near him.

"So- he put it under the water and listened to it?" He asks Myrtle who was still floating around, occasional sobs leaving her.

"Mhm," She sniffs, wiping away a fake tear.

Harry sighs quietly before slowly lowering the egg under the water. He presses something on it for it to open up. It glows as it plays a muffled sounding song, before Harry takes a deep breath in and goes underwater.

I watch as he stays underwater for around 30 seconds, before coming back up with some sort of amazement. "Its a- Its a song-"

"A song?" I ask, my brows furrowing with confusion.

"Mhm!" He gasps, still panting for air.

"Does it have words?"

"Yes- many!" He says excitedly, before going back underwater.

I sit confusedly for a moment before Harry comes back up from the water. "Come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground," He says before quickly going back under the water.

Confused noises leave me before I quickly grab my wand and start to write out what he's saying in the air.

"And while you're searching ponder this; we've taken what you'll sorely miss," He gasps quickly, before going back to listen for more.

I write out the rest of the lyrics he gives me, before he finally comes up after many trips down into the water. He looks at the lyrics I've written in the air with my wand, mumbling them under his breath.

"Well- I suppose I've got one hour to finish the next task," He sighs, lifting himself up and out of the water.

I hand him a towel nearby for him to dry off with. "Sounds like some kind of merpeople," I shrug, finding a paper towel nearby to write the lyrics on before they disappear.

"Yeah... maybe,"

We leave the bathroom a few minutes later, not much words being spoken between us as we both process what the egg had said.

"Sorry Myrtle was acting weird," Harry laughs awkwardly as we walk back to our common rooms.

"Its not your fault," I shrug. "The girl's got a mad case of love for you," I smirk teasingly at him.

He bites his bottom lip gently. "I'm not sure why,"

I laugh quietly as I remember the whole conversation and everything she had said until it hits me.

Oh my goodness.

Polyjuice potion.

Thats what was in Moody's flask.
