Hi bubs:)) ahh ok so this is probably my favorite chapter I've written so far, as it has also been the most fun to write. It's pretty long compared to the other chapters but I hope you enjoy it! Also honestly I imagine lots of different songs, I suggest just searching up "Slytherin party" or something like that for it!

Enjoy!<3

Not a split second after we opened our dorm room door, music filled my ears. My eyes widened at the sensation, as I looked over at Pansy who was grinning in excitement.

Her head turned to meet mine, moving her gaze from the stairs that lead to the common room and back to my Y/e/c eyes.

"This'll be fun," she squealed, grabbing my hand and quickly making her way down the stairs.

"We have a very different meaning of fun," I scrunch my nose slightly, as the smell of firewhisky took over my senses.

The music got louder and louder until we finally passed the hallway corner that lead into the common room. My mouth slightly parted in shock.

We were never allowed to go to the parties in our 1st and 2nd years, I understand why, now. Straight ahead of us, there were a few 5th and 6th years dancing on a table. To the left of us, two people were making out in a black leather sofa. I instantly looked away when I saw that, Merlin I wish I hadn't seen that.

To the right of us was where all the drinks were, no wonder the scent was so strong, the drink table was right next to us. Many students were surrounding it, constantly gulping shots, or taking sips from their cups.

As Pansy took my hand, and started walking through the crowd, anxiety rushed through my veins. I took a deep breath trying to calm myself down, but crowds were never my thing. Luckily, we weren't in the crowd for too long, as Pansy stopped when we found Blaise and Daphne. They were talking to each other, slightly moving to the music.

"There you two are!" Daphne exclaimed, grinning at us.

"I swear you two are always together," Blaise smirked at us, his eyes traveling down my body.

Suddenly nerves filled my body, I hated when it was obvious boys were checking me out. Especially a brother-like friend.

"Eyes up here, Zabini." I say sternly. My fingers snapped in front of his face, before my arms crossed over my stomach uncomfortably.

Daphne and Pansy giggled, watching Blaise's eyes widen slightly in embarrassment. He cleared his throat awkwardly, a slight smirk growing in his lips. I rolled my eyes at his immaturity, but couldn't help the quiet laugh that escaped my mouth.

The next 30 minutes consisted of Pansy and Blaise going out onto the dance floor, and dancing with random people, along with each other. Daphne and I sat on one of the coaches, occasionally sipping some of the non-alcoholic punch we got. We laughed as we watched some older girls surround Blaise and start dancing with him. Blaise was always tall for his age so it made sense that girls would think he was older than he actually was.

Pansy grinned over at us, motioning for us to come dance with her. Daphne looked over at me, a questioning look on her face. I shook my head slowly,

"I'll pass, you go have fun though!" I smiled at her, looking back at Pansy who was once again swaying her hips and waving her arms around to the music.

Daphne hesitated slightly, before getting up and smiling warmly at me.

"Come get me if you need me," she yelled over the music to me, walking slowly backwards towards Pansy.

I grinned at her, motioning for her to go to Pansy.

I smiled, as I watched them dance near each other. They were grinning and laughing, looking as though they were having the most fun they'd ever had.

I anxiously played with my rose shaped ring, looking around at everyone, and occasionally smiling weakly if I made eye contact. I was lost in my thoughts, when a boy suddenly appeared in front of me.

I furrowed my brows in confusion, not knowing who he was. I slowly got up from the couch and stood about a foot away from him.

"Your Y/n right? Y/n Y/l/n?" He questioned me, taking a sip of the drink he held in his hand.

I nodded slowly, wondering if I should even be telling him this, or why he wanted to know.

"Yes, that's me." I state, clearing my throat.

A sense of relief seems to take over his face, as he hands me a letter.

"This just came, I was told to give it to you." He says, placing the letter in my hands, and then meeting my eyes again.

I stare down at the letter in my hands, turning it over. I recognized the handwriting and immediately knew it was from my father.

I smiled weakly at the boy in front of me, nodding my head.

"Thank you," I respond, before making my way over to the common room door.

I quickly open the portrait door and head down a dark corridor. Although I was happy that my dad sent me a letter, I couldn't keep away the worrying thoughts.

I leaned my back against a cold wall, sliding down until I hit the floor. I stared at the letter for a few seconds before gently opening it. I unfolded the parchment, and started reading.

Y/n,

I hope your first few days at Hogwarts were enjoyable. Do you have a new favorite class or do you still love astronomy more than I will ever understand?

I chuckled slightly at his words, before beginning to read once more.

I've been doing good at home, and occasionally I get together with some old friends. I've kept the house as clean as I can, and although I miss your company, I've been trying to obtain my own new hobbies.

I would've written you anyways, but somebody wanted me to ask you a question. Your mother mailed a letter to me yesterday, checking up on us. She knew you were back at school, and wanted me to ask you if it was okay that she sent a letter to you. Although I have no say in your answer, I do think you should appreciate that she understands we're still sensitive about her leave.

I love you with all my heart and I hope you're doing good. You deserve nothing less than the best, always remember that. You never fail to make me proud, my star.

Sincerely, your moon.

I smile at the letter for awhile, until it hits me that my mom sent a letter to my dad. This is the first letter she's sent since she left. I wasn't sure what to think, I wasn't sure what she even said, or what she wanted to say to me.

My breath hitched in my throat, and I bit my lip anxiously. I folded the piece of parchment up and carefully slipped it back into the envelope. My breath sped up, as I thought about my mother. I knew it was bad to think about her, but it was almost impossible not to.

I stood up quickly, and thought about what to do. Do I want a letter from her? What would she say? How would I reply? Would I be angry? Would I cry? I thought about all these questions, as I walked through some dark, empty, hallways. I knew what I needed at that moment.

I quickly walked up some flights of stairs, and through a few more hallways before I reached the door to the astronomy tower. I walked up the stairs, gripping the letter in my hand tighter as I started to feel the wind.

Once I reached the top, I looked around a bit before noticing a dark figure, sitting near the edge, looking out at the view. My eyes widened, as I cleared my throat awkwardly.

The figure's head turned around quickly, looking at me. I let out a breath of relief when I realized who it was. His platinum blonde hair, and gray eyes, made it obvious that it was none other than Draco Malfoy.

His expression was blank as he stared at me. His back was leaned up against a wall, his knees bent in front of him, and his arms rested on his knees. He was playing with one of the rings on his finger, twirling it around unconsciously.

"I can um- I can leave, if you... want me to." I stuttered, not taking my eyes off his.

"No- you can um," he cleared his throat, positioning his posture slightly. "You can stay."

I smiled weakly at him, before walking over and sitting across from him. I sat almost identical as he was, but instead of my arms on my knees, my hands lay in my lap, playing with the ring on my finger.

"What's gotten you up here?" He asks quietly, looking out at the stars.

I don't make eye contact with him, instead I keep my eyes on my hands that twirl the rose shaped ring around my finger.

"Just got sick of the party I guess," I respond, glancing at the letter that lay on the ground beside me.

I look up to meet his gaze, realizing that he followed my eyes when I looked at the letter. Crap.

"What's that then?" His head gestures towards the envelope, a hint of concern on his face.

I scoff, wondering why he was so curious. I look down at the letter, the one sentence replaying in my mind; "She knew you were back at school, and wanted me to ask you if it was okay that she sent a letter to you."

"Wouldn't you like to know," I say quietly, looking out at the school grounds.

"Yes, I would like to know," he meets my eyes, a slight smirk on his lips.

I roll my eyes at him, a slight smile forming on my lips. It was nice having a small distraction, even if it did happen to be from Draco.

There was a moment of silence before I heard him sigh, repositioning his posture slightly.

"You know, Y/l/n, that's usually why people ask questions," he smirks, one of his eyebrows slightly raised. "Because they want to know,"

I try to hide the smile that grows on my face, but fail. I look out at the stars, admiring how easily they can be seen at nighttime. Astronomy always fascinated me, really. I loved looking at the stars at night, especially when I could name them and impress the people around me. I shake my head slowly as my fingers trace over the signature on the letter beside me.

"It's nothing," I begin, moving my gaze to meet his eyes. "Just a letter from my dad."

He nods his head slowly, his eyes moving to look at the letter.

"What's it say?" He asks, his eyes moving back up to meet mine.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell him, especially because he wouldn't understand the mother part. I always preferred planning things out in my head, and I knew I wanted to think about it for awhile, making sure it was a good idea, before telling him.

"Goodness gracious, Curious George." I jokingly say, trying to take the subject off the letter.

"What?" He asks, his brows furrowed in confusion.

I chuckle quietly at his confusion, shaking my head slowly.

"It's a muggle thing," I respond, knowing his response won't be good.

"Ew," he sneers, his nose scrunched up in disgust.

I roll my eyes at his immaturity. I decided not to respond though, as that would only make the situation worse. I inhale deeply, exhaling as our eyes meet again.

"What's brought you up here?" I ask.

He stays silent for a moment, looking down at the ground before raising his head and looking back at me. It was hard not to admire his gray eyes. They were always filled with some kind of expression, and even if they weren't, they were still beautiful.

"Truthfully, I just don't prefer parties," he shrugs, not breaking eye contact.

I nod my head at him, understandingly.

I wasn't sure if I believed what he was saying, but I knew that he would've said something if he wanted to talk about his problems. I didn't know if we were quite at the point of friendship to push to an answer yet.

We talked for the next hour or so, about anything and everything. We talked about classes, professors, our friends, our enemies, stupid gossip and rumors that were going around the school, and more. It was nice talking to him. It felt as though we both needed a distraction from something, even though he didn't know my problems and I didn't know his, I think it was a mutual understanding that we didn't want to talk about real problems right now. We just wanted to talk.
