Y/N POV
I woke up to the red sunlight on my eyelids. I felt Al's arms fell around my frame. I slowly smiled as I remembered last night. I spied my black feathers scattered around the mattress. A single white sheet covered both of us.
I slowly turned towards his body to lay and look at him. His scarlet eyelids were gracefully closed. I silently laughed as I remembered back to last night when he had told me he didn't sleep. His face was calm and peaceful.
I carefully pulled one of my arms from his and traced a finger over the scars on his chest. I assumed they were from past fights with other Overlords, but that didn't make them any better. If I knew who they were from, I would probably kill them for leaving the marks on his body.
I looked back up at his face and saw that he had on a small, pleasant smile. I could tell he was starting to wake up. I reached my hand up and lightly rubbed his ears. His eyes opened, but they were still heavily lidded.
I smiled as I felt his eyes on me. He didn't say anything, he just reached his hand towards my hair and started playing with it. "Good morning, my darling." His morning voice tempted me to continue where we had left off last night. The radio sound was more pronounced.
I lightly giggled and tapped his nose, "I thought you told me that you don't sleep."
"I usually don't, it's peculiar. I've only started to sleep again after meeting you."
"Good thing I calm you down." I laughed and sat up to get out of bed. I grabbed one of the blankets from the floor and wrapped it around my body. The cold air created goosebumps on my bare skin.
Before I could react, I felt two arms wrap around my waist and pull me back into bed. "Hey!" I yelled as he hugged me to him.
"Don't think you can get away that easily," He growled with a smile. He laid his head in the crook of my shoulder and started kissing my neck. The feeling of his lips sent shivers up my spine.
"Al--" I gasped as he bit my neck. His lips paused for a second so I turned around to face him. Placing a finger on his lips I said, "You know I would love to continue," his smile widened at my words. "But I have some territory to destroy." I lifted my finger and his arms let go of my waist.
I climbed out of the bed and walked over to the bathroom. Before closing the door, I peeked my head out and smiled at him. "I'll be out in a second." I turned on the shower, dropped the blanket, and hopped in.
The hot water ran down in rivulets on my arms and legs. I raised my head and let the water run down my face. A blush spread across my face as I remembered what happened last night. Even though we are in Hell, it had been heavenly.
While washing my hair I sang a small song. Singing while doing menial tasks had always been second nature to me.
La vie en rose
Quand il me prend dans ses bras
Qu'il me parle tout bas
Je vois la vie en rose
Il me dit des mots d'amour
Des mots de tous les jours
Et รงa m'fait quelque chose
I got out of the shower and walked to the closet. I pulled out my usual black halter top, for my wings. I wore blank pants that hugged my waist and slowly flared at the bottom. Pulling on my combat boots and black cloak, I walked over to the mirror. I tucked an Angel knife into the side of my boot, just in case I needed it. My hair was still slightly damp, so I put it in a braid that fell all the way down my back.
Continuing to hum the song, I looked in the mirror. There was something in my eyes, a sparkle that had been dull before, but now was alive. I smiled as I admired my reflection, and turned to walk out the door.
I was slightly surprised when I opened the door and was faced with Alastor's red dress shirt. I looked up at him and raised an eyebrow. "Impatient, are we?" I laughed.
His coat was slung across his back. "I heard the beautiful song you were singing. Your pronunciation was close, but not quite there."
"Wait, you speak french?"
He laughed, "You underestimate me, my dear. I came from Louisiana remember?"
"Oh, that's right. You would have to speak french."
His smile widened and he dropped his coat on the couch beside the bathroom door. He held out his hand to me. "May I have this dance?"
I smirked as I took his hand. "You might regret this. I can't dance. Not even a little bit."
Laughing he said, "We'll see." He wrapped his hand around my waist and I placed my hand on his shoulder.
He started humming the song as he twirled me around the room. Then his hum shifted into him continuing the song.
Il est entrรฉ dans mon cลur
Une part de bonheur
He hugged my body to him. He looked down at me and smiled while he sang. I put my head on his chest and listened to the vibrations of his voice rumble through his chest.
C'est lui pour moi, moi pour lui dans la vie
Il me l'a dit, l'a jurรฉ, pour la vie
Et dรจs que je l'aperรงois
Alors je sens en moi
Mon cลur qui bat
We stood there for a moment, and then I raised my head to look at him. He had a warm look in his eyes. I smiled, "You're right, I did underestimate you." He laughed, let go of my waist, and went to put his coat on.
After, he held out his arm to me. "Shall we?" I nodded and took it.

We shifted into the middle of Vox's territory and were met by the Imps. I could tell we were in Vox's territory by the amount of screens covering the building.
I put myself between Alastor and the Imps, just in case he was still angry. Moxxie's voice came from below me. "The bombs are set up and ready to go off in middle of Velvet's territory. Just waiting for your call miss." He handed me an earpiece.
I turned around towards Al. "I'm gonna do this one alone. I don't want Lucifer to call you in again if he knows we are still working together." The concerned look in his eyes made me hesitate. "I promise nothing is going to happen. I just want to draw both of them out. I will be fine."
I smiled at him and rubbed his arm. "I'm going to be okay. Please trust me." His smile was still there, but nervousness continued to fill his eyes.
He took a deep breath. "Of course I trust you. You have the full capabilities of destroying this yourself." He had more on his mind, but didn't say it to the imps. "I don't want you to get hurt again. You could save yourself that time, but ," His eyes flicked over to Blitz and anger filled them. "But you don't know if you could save yourself again."
"I promise that I can deal with it. I'm not getting involved with them right now. This is just to make them nervous."
"Then I can get behind that."
I smiled and whispered a thank you.
I turned back around towards the imps and continued. "Okay, here's the plan. I will be shifting back and forth between the two territories. This takeover is just to make them uneasy and unveil some of their weaknesses."
I looked at each of their faces. Millie and Blitz looked extremely excited, Loona just looked bored, and Moxxie was a little nervous, but reflected some of Millie's excitement. "You guys should split into two groups so that when I disappear, destruction is still being caused."
Blitz ran towards Moxie and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "I'm taking Moxxie, he may be a little scared, but he's good at fuckin' shit up."
"But sir, she's my wife."
He looked over to him. "That doesn't mean shit to me Mox. Let's go!" I laughed and open a portal for the two of them.
"I'll call you guys when I'm ready." Blitz gave me a thumbs up and Moxxie shakily smiled, then Blitz pulled them into the hole. I looked over to Mille and Loona. "I'll do the same for you. The only thing is to not blow up that center building with the biggest screen on it. Sound good?" Loona nodded and Millie started jumping up and down excitedly with a smile on her face.
"Then let's do this."
Millie and Loona ran out of the alley we were in so they could get into their positions. I summoned my wings and turned back towards Al. Despite the butterflies in my stomach, I leaned in and kissed him.
Most of all, I just wanted to ease his worries, but it felt something more than that. Something made it feel like a goodbye kiss, but I pushed the feeling from my mind. Our lips moved in sync but I pulled away before I got to pulled in. "It's going to be fine Al--" I hesitated before I continued.
I put my hand on the side of his face, "I love you." I flew up into the air and heard him from down below.
"Goodbye darling."
It hurt to fly away, but I needed to get this done. I flew right into the middle of the city square. I touched my ear, "Both groups start explosives in 3-" I shifted into my rage form, my horns growing out.
"2--" I could see my eyes start to glow a bright purple.
"1--"
All around me, things started blowing up. In the distance, I could see another plume of smoke in the sky. That must've been Velvet's territory. Screams came from the ground as buildings erupted in fire. I summoned my scythe and went towards the building on my right. The building in the center had not been touched. They had actually listened to my instructions.
Scythe in hand, I charged it up with a powerful flow of electricity. I flung it into the building on my left and watched as the lighting blew up the lights in the building. I sliced through the building, like it was cake. It separated easily and I flew through it's interior.
I flew as fast as I could towards the ground and opened a portal to Velvet's territory. I was easily transported through and found myself flying up in the air. I hummed the song me and Al had sung earlier today. Not the best choice for a song that causes destruction, but it comforted me.
Velvet's territory was not as electrified as Vox's but it looked like a doll town. The buildings were all overly cutesy and so were the businesses. I cast my vines towards the tallest buildings. I watched them quickly wind their way up and I clenched my fist into a ball and they quickly exploded.
"Hey y/n, they are starting to call in their minions, but we still haven't placed a location on either of them yet." Blitz's voice rang through the earpiece.
"Keep them off of me for as long as possible. I just need to know where they are."
Moxxie spoke up, "Why do you want to know where they are? I thought you were just trying to scare them."
I hesitated and blocked the part of my mind from Al, "I was lying. I want to take these overlords out as soon as possible, as they are the biggest threat. He never would have let me do this on my own, but I don't want him getting taken out by Lucifer. He's already on a thin line."
I unblocked my mind so Al wouldn't get overly suspicious. I opened a portal and flew back to Vox's territory. The earpiece was quiet on the other end. I felt incredibly guilty for what I did to Al, but it was necessary.
I looked back to the building with the screens on it. I was on the 666 news and it was televised all over the screens. Since I was a little kid, I had always wanted to be on the news, but not like this. A voice perked up in my ears.
"A spotted both Vox and Velvet coming out of the main building behind you y/n. But they immediately disappeared as soon as they saw you above them." Millie's voice cut off.
"I saw Vox and Velvet below you. I don't know where they went but they disappeared."
"Thanks Al. I'll watch out for them."
Instead of watching out for them, I started actively seeking both of them out. I flew down closer to the streets and dug my scythe into the buildings around me, carving out a line of destruction. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Vox and Velvet appear in one of the side streets. I swung around and flew as fast as possible into the alley.
"Y/N WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
I hesitated and spoke back to him. "I have to take out my opponents as fast as possible Al. I will not let them hurt you or anyone else I love." I shot down the alley and saw their figures round a corner. I followed them and swung around the corner. I was immediately greeted with a brick wall and almost slammed into it.
Thankfully I slowed down with my wings, but that didn't stop until after a painful roll on the ground. I carefully sat up and wondered where they could have gone. "OW" Something lodged itself in my arm and I looked to where it hit me.
It was a little green dart with a feathered plume sticking out of it. I plucked it out of my skin but immediately started feeling woozy. I looked behind to where it had been shot and found Velvet pointed a gun towards me. Vox was in the opposite corner of the alley, carefully watching.
My vision started going dark, and I couldn't focus on the figures. Velvet walked over to me, her heels clicking against the concrete. She leaned down and tilted my chin up. "Don't fight it, hun. It will just feel worse."
I tried to fight against her grip on my face but it felt like my limbs were going numb. Reaching for the knife in my boot, I tried to fight back, but Vox's bright face started dulling.
I heard was Al's voice in my mind. "Y/N. STAY AWAKE."
"Al.... I can't. it's too strong."
He yelled my name one more time, but I couldn't grasp it. Everything around me went fuzzy.
Then the world went dark.
