Tsk, girls.
It didn't matter how hard he tried, Jisung could just not get to understand their moody and strange behaviors: how could it be that he had simply tried to tell her that she could always count on him for everything, and she'd told him that she did not need that?
The Gryffindor could only hope for that Slytherin to be nicer than he looked: it was a known thing that Kim Seungmin could be cold and kind of harsh at times, and by promising y/n that he'd protect her dutifully, he had not expected the friend to take it that seriously โ personally, rather.
Left alone, Jisung had found himself with no close friends other than Felix, and having y/n herself told him to go find him and leave her alone, the Gryffindor had only thought it appropriate to get to the Hufflepuff.
Felix would usually spend the late hours of the afternoons in the library, doing his homework: the boy mused that it helped him staying more focused, as not many people were around at that time.
Jisung sighed, his thoughts on the dinner that he could've been eating right now had he not argued with his best friend, and turned back to where he'd come from to take the right corridor to the library.
Minho told us not to pass by there... I wonder why. As he came nearer, the distinct sound of screams reached his ears, with the only result of getting him furtherly curious as to what was going on.
The boy quickened his pace, and soon enough found himself in the Gargoyle corridor, โ so was called the corridor where lay the infamous Gargoyle, which let anybody through the Headmistress' office if they told it the right password โ the one right before that where the library was: the small and narrow space was packed with people, and by the looks of their uniforms they were mostly Hufflepuffs.
A messy blonde head stuck out among the many, and Jisung immediately recognized the golden locks as Felix's: it was clear that all the mess had distracted the boy from his homework โ and Jisung was pretty sure the friend had no complaints about it whatsoever.
"Hi Lixie" he said once he was sure the boy would hear him: Felix effectively turned around to meet him with a wide grin. "Do you know what's going on?"
"Oh โ Lia and Taehyun just had a quarrel" explained the Hufflepuff matter-of-factly. "Apparently Tae jinxed Lia's drink and she jinxed him back or something โ only now Tae swears he didn't do anything and is trying to get her detentioned. Luckily Bang Chan and Woojin were walking by, so now they've taken it on them".
Jisung raised his head to have a better look: Chan was in fact standing in the middle of the corridor, and was using his body as a barrier for other two students (Lia and Taehyun, undoubtedly: one still had her cup in hand, and the other his wand drawn out). Of Woojin, however, there was no sign.
"Why'd you come, anyways?" asked Felix, head pointing at the library and entering followed closely by the Gryffindor: the noise must've attracted Mme Prince as well, for the old librarian was not to be seen.
"Ehmโ" Jisung paused: he'd come because Y/n had basically told him to go and talk about Minho with others who were actually interested, but none other than her knew about his sexuality. He could not do that โ or could he?
He studied Felix's features with more attention than he had ever done before: the boy had always been around his height, and the fluffy blond hair cut had always been straight and clean. His eyes were pretty elongated, and his lashes longer than usual. If Jisung really came to think of it, he kind of reminded him of a cat.
Cats were also known to be lazy and patient, and Felix was just that. He'd been a very good friend to Jisung ever since he had started Hogwarts, and had never proven false nor had ever done something hurtful to the Gryffindor. If there was to be someone else apart from y/n to know about his secret, it would've had to be Felix.
Jisung coughed, trying to think of a good way to phrase his thoughts. Felix just stood next to him, looking at the friend with a serious expression Jisung didn't normally see him wear. "I just had a quarrel with y/n". Okay okay, that's a start.
"About what?"
"She thinks me overprotective, and that my worries about her and her crush are not solid and that I am just a pain in the ass, basically..."
Felix seemed genuinely surprised. "Y/n has a crush? Well that's new, I'd've never noticed if you hadn't told me. But is she okay with you telling me this?"
She would be okay with me telling you something else. "I'm not too sure, so I'm not going to. But she did mention that I should probably tell you something..."
Felix sat down, and invited Jisung to do the same. "Go ahead then", he said.
Jisung took a deep breath: it was now or never, he knew โ he did not think he'd be able to return on the topic ever again should he miss that chance. "So, Felix... we've been friends for five years almost, and I trust you. But you have to promise me that you will not talk about this with anyone; never".
The Gryffindor couldn't have come up with better words to solicitate the Hufflepuff's attention.
"I'm all ears", he replied quickly. "But no mouth" and he covered his with one hand. "No mouth, I promise" he mumbled.
Another deep breath. "So... I think you have the right to know thatโ" Jisung looked both left and right: none. He also streched his ears to hear any close sound: apart from the faint chatting in the corridor, nothing. "โI like boys".
Jisung closed his eyes, as if expecting a sudden storm to hit him hard on the face. Instead, before he could reopen them, he felt two warm arms wrap around his shoulders.
Felix had in fact got up to back-hug the friend. His head now lay comfortably on Jisung's shoulder, and his whole body language just screamed affection. "Thank you for telling me" he said softly. "It must've been hard! I'm on board with you though, don't worry: I got this. It's easy peasy: not tell anyone!"
Jisung left out what probably was the biggest breath ever: he'd not even noticed he'd been holding it for so long.
The Gryffindor felt full of gratefulness towards the friend: That's why we're so close. He's a real one.
