Mattheo had been planning this for weeks, pouring his heart into every detail. He had heard Y/N talk about how much she loved books, how they were more than just stories to herβ€”they were an escape, a place where she could lose herself and find peace. But there was one thing that had always stuck with her: her dream of having her own library, one that would feel like home, a sanctuary from the world.

He wanted to make that dream a reality for her, and there was no better time than now.

The day of the surprise, he led her, blindfolded, through the mansion's hallways. His hand was warm in hers, and he could feel her nervous excitement through her grip. He smiled, knowing the joy this would bring her. He had told her they were going to take a walk, nothing out of the ordinary. He loved how she trusted him without asking too many questions.

They reached the door, and Mattheo paused, his voice soft but filled with warmth. "Are you ready?"

Y/N nodded eagerly, her voice bubbling with excitement. "Of course! What's going on? I'm so curious!"

Mattheo smiled, his heart swelling. "Okay. I'm taking off the blindfold."

He slowly untied the fabric, and the moment Y/N's eyes opened, she froze. Before her was the most magnificent room she had ever seen.

The library stretched out before her, its high shelves filled to the brim with booksβ€”thick, leather-bound classics, delicate first editions, novels she had only dreamt of owning. The air smelled of old pages and rich wood, the perfect combination. A massive window bathed the room in soft sunlight, illuminating the intricate detailing of the bookshelves. There was a large, inviting armchair by the window, perfect for long hours of reading, and a roaring fire crackled in the hearth.

But what truly took her breath away was the sliding ladderβ€”gleaming and polished, moving smoothly along the shelves, as though it belonged in a storybook.

Y/N was speechless, her hands flying up to cover her mouth as she took it all in. Tears pricked at her eyes as she turned to Mattheo, her chest tight with emotion. "Mattheo... this is... this is too much. It's... it's everything I've ever wanted."

Mattheo grinned, watching her reaction with a proud gleam in his eyes. "I wanted to give you something that's yours, something that would make you feel at home. All the books, all the special editions you've always wantedβ€”I put them all on display just for you."

Y/N's eyes flickered over the shelves, noticing the familiar, rare editions she had often talked about acquiring. She could see first prints of The Picture of Dorian Gray, limited-edition The Hobbit, and even The Night Circus with the gold lettering that she'd been admiring for ages. Her heart fluttered. "Mattheo... you really did it," she whispered, her voice trembling.

He stepped closer, his arms sliding around her waist. "I wanted to make it special. You deserve it. I've been waiting for the right time to show you."

Y/N's eyes welled with tears as she turned to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I... I can't believe this. It's like a dream, Mattheo."

"Not a dream," he whispered, kissing the top of her head. "This is real."

Y/N pulled back slightly, looking up at him, her eyes shining. "I don't even know what to say... It's perfect."

Mattheo chuckled softly. "There's one thing you should say..."

Y/N raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. "What's that?"

"I know you're going to reorganize everything," he teased, a knowing smile on his lips.

Y/N blinked, a sly grin spreading across her face. "You know me too well. You did all this for me, and you think I'm going to leave it like this?" She gestured at the meticulously arranged shelves. "I'm going to reorganize this place a lot. There's no way I'm leaving these books like this. I need to make it mine."

Mattheo chuckled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I thought as much. I even left you space to make it your own. The rest of the room is for you to personalize however you want."

Y/N laughed through her tears, feeling a lightness in her chest. "I'll start tomorrow, for sure. But for now... I think I just need to sit and take it all in."

Mattheo smiled, taking her hand and leading her to the armchair by the window. He pulled her gently into his lap, wrapping his arms around her as she settled in. Y/N closed her eyes for a moment, letting the warmth of the fire and the comfort of his presence wash over her.

"Thank you, Mattheo," she whispered, her voice filled with gratitude. "This is more than I ever imagined."

"You deserve it," he replied softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I'll always do whatever I can to make you happy."

They sat together in the quiet of the library, surrounded by the peaceful hum of the world outside. Y/N couldn't help but smile as she leaned against Mattheo, her heart full. In this room, surrounded by books, with him by her side, she truly felt like she had found a place where she could be herselfβ€”where dreams became reality.
