The rain had come down hard, as if the heavens themselves were angry. Y/N was soaked to the bone, her white shirt clinging to her skin and the cold air only intensifying her discomfort. She shivered as she looked up and saw the boys standing under the awning, their faces a mixture of surprise and concern.

Mattheo's gaze immediately dropped to her drenched form, his eyes darkening slightly, but he didn't say anything just yet. Theo, standing next to him, couldn't help but chuckle, though there was an underlying worry in his voice. "Well, Y/N, you've got the attention of the whole bloody street," he teased, though his words were accompanied by a quick glance at her wet clothes.

"Are you insane?" Blaise added, his tone half-exasperated, half-worried. "Get inside before you catch your death out here."

Draco didn't say anything at first, his sharp eyes scanning Y/N's soaked form with a look of mild irritation but also concern. He adjusted his posture, crossing his arms as he watched the scene unfold.

Y/N, feeling embarrassed and cold, was about to try and brush it off when Enzo's voice cut through the conversation. "You're freezing, Y/N. And you're not getting any warmer standing out here in the rain."

Before anyone could stop him, Enzo made a decision. With no hesitation, he moved quickly to her side, his hands reaching out to lift her effortlessly into his arms. Y/N gasped in surprise, her heart jumping into her throat as Enzo swept her up into a bridal carry.

"Enzo!" Y/N exclaimed, wide-eyed as she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck for support, the sudden warmth of his body contrasting with the chill of the rain.

Enzo grinned down at her, his expression filled with genuine concern and a bit of mischief. "I'm not letting you stand out here and freeze to death, Y/N," he said, his voice soft but serious. "You're not walking in this mess. I'll carry you."

The boys' reactions were immediate.

Mattheo's jaw clenched, his eyes darkening as his gaze shifted from Enzo to Y/N. He wasn't used to seeing his girlfriend in anyone's armsβ€”let alone Enzo'sβ€”but his protective side kicked in. His tone was tense as he stepped forward, his usual confidence faltering slightly. "Enzo, put her down," he said, his voice rough, though there was a tinge of concern beneath it. "You're making her uncomfortable."

Enzo, however, didn't seem phased. He continued to carry Y/N as if it was the most natural thing in the world, his grip steady and unshakable. "She's not uncomfortable. Right, Y/N?" He flashed her a wink, his smile making it clear that he wasn't taking the situation as seriously as Mattheo was.

Y/N, though surprised by Enzo's bold move, couldn't help but appreciate his gesture. She leaned into him slightly, her face flushed, though not entirely from the cold. "It's fine, Mattheo. Enzo's just being nice," she said, her voice trying to assure him, though there was a bit of a teasing smile on her lips.

Blaise let out a low whistle, his gaze flicking from Y/N to Enzo, clearly entertained by the scene. "Well, I guess someone's not shy about being chivalrous," he commented, his smirk playful but his eyes filled with amusement.

Theo laughed softly, shaking his head. "Enzo's got the right idea," he said, his voice light. "If it were me, I'd do the same thing. Doesn't matter how wet you get; it's about making sure she's taken care of."

Draco, however, was more reserved. He watched Mattheo carefully, sensing the tension between the two, and crossed his arms. "This isn't exactly the time for showmanship, is it?" he commented dryly, though his eyes flicked over to Y/N's shivering form. "Though I suppose it's better than letting her freeze."

Enzo, clearly unfazed by the reactions, began walking toward the Slytherin common room with Y/N still in his arms. "Don't worry, guys. I'll make sure she's dry and warm. She'll be alright."

Mattheo, despite his earlier words, couldn't take his eyes off Y/N. He stepped up to them, his brow furrowed with concern, but also a hint of something elseβ€”a protective, jealous streak that had become more apparent the longer he stood there. "You didn't have to pick her up like that, Enzo," he said, his tone still tight, though he was trying to hide the underlying tension.

Y/N, noticing Mattheo's tone, smiled softly at him, trying to ease the moment. "Mattheo, really. I'm fine. Enzo's just trying to help."

But Mattheo's gaze lingered on the way Enzo held her, and it was clear he wasn't entirely comfortable with it. He fell in step beside them, though, his protective nature making him stay close.

As Enzo carried Y/N into the common room, she could feel the warmth of the fire already working its magic on her chilled skin. But she couldn't help but notice the undercurrent of tension among the boys. There was a quiet wariness in Mattheo's gaze that didn't go unnoticed by anyone. Even Draco, who had remained mostly neutral, now seemed to be watching the dynamics unfold more closely.

Inside the warmth of the common room, Enzo finally set Y/N down gently, though he made sure to keep his hands on her arms for a moment, ensuring she stayed steady. "See? Warmth," he said with a grin.

Y/N, now feeling much better but still a bit embarrassed, smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Enzo," she said quietly, grateful for his kindness despite the awkwardness.

Mattheo immediately stepped closer, his gaze shifting from Enzo to her. He placed a hand on her shoulder, his touch warm but also possessive. "Let's get you out of these wet clothes," he murmured, his voice low, the jealousy from earlier now replaced with concern.

The rest of the boys fell into the background as Y/N and Mattheo exchanged a brief, quiet moment. Enzo stepped away, giving them some space but not before throwing Mattheo a look, as if saying, She's safe now, it's alright.

Blaise, Theo, and Draco all exchanged knowing glances, their expressions a mix of amusement and quiet understanding.

"Well, that was an eventful few minutes," Blaise said, the corner of his mouth twitching in an effort to suppress a grin.

"I don't know about you, but I think I need a drink after all that," Theo added, his voice full of playful sarcasm.

Draco let out a long sigh, his usual indifference masking the fact that he was still paying close attention to the couple. "Let's just hope she doesn't make a habit of this," he muttered, though there was a faint hint of concern in his voice.

Mattheo gave Y/N a soft smile, brushing a lock of wet hair from her face as she stood by the fire. Despite the tension, he was relieved to have her inside, safe and warm. "You're alright now," he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet promise.

And as Y/N settled in with the boys, the storm still raging outside, she couldn't help but feel the weight of their careβ€”and the complicated dynamics that would surely follow in the days to come.
