It was a crisp Saturday afternoon, and the Slytherin common room was filled with the usual mix of chatter and idle relaxation. Y/N had just returned from a long walk through the Forbidden Forest, the scent of the woods lingering in her hair and the warmth of the spring air still clinging to her skin. Her ball pythons, both of them, were draped comfortably over her shoulders like living scarves, their scales glistening in the low light.

As she walked in, the boys were gathered around a table, cards and empty drink glasses scattered across the surface. The moment Y/N stepped into the room, however, they all paused and looked at her, the sight of her and her snakes shifting in the shadows catching their attention.

Mattheo was the first to speak up, his deep voice breaking the silence. "Well, this is new," he said with an amused smirk, leaning back in his chair. His gaze lingered on the snakes, then back to Y/N. "You wearing them as necklaces now, or are they just... hanging out for the ride?"

Y/N laughed lightly, the sound like a soft melody as she adjusted one of the snakes on her neck. "Just a little bit of both," she replied nonchalantly. The two pythons seemed to shift with her movements, their coils perfectly comfortable as they draped across her shoulders. One of the snakes, a lighter cream color, wrapped lazily around her wrist like a bracelet. The other, darker and with more distinctive patterns, was settled around her neck, its head resting just below her jawline.

Theo, who had been focused on the game in front of him, raised an eyebrow and gave Y/N a skeptical glance. His dark brown eyes softened with curiosity as he examined the snakes more closely. "You know," he began, his voice thoughtful, "it's not exactly common to see someone walking around wearing snakes like jewelry. But youβ€”" He gave her a small grin, "β€”you always find a way to make it look... normal."

Y/N shrugged as she gracefully adjusted the snake on her wrist, causing it to wind tighter for a moment before relaxing again. "They're my companions. I've had them since they were hatchlings, so they're pretty comfortable around me." She gave a small smirk, twirling the snake around her wrist. "Besides, they're good for keeping unwanted attention away. Nobody gets too close when they see me with them."

Draco, who had been leaning back against the wall with his arms crossed, smirked as he observed the scene. "I can't decide whether you're a Slytherin or some sort of... mystical snake-witch hybrid," he said, his tone full of dry humor. He was impressed, thoughβ€”he couldn't deny that. "It's a bit much, even for us."

Blaise, sitting next to him, seemed more intrigued than bothered by the display. He leaned forward, watching the way the snakes moved with Y/N's motions, how they seemed to adapt to her every move, each one curling up lazily around her wrist and neck. "It's... impressive," he said, his usual calm voice holding a note of admiration. "You've trained them well."

Y/N smiled faintly, running a hand gently over the snake around her wrist. "They're not pets, Blaise. They're more like family to me. I spent a lot of time with them, and we've formed a bond."

Enzo, who had been quietly observing from the other side of the room, finally spoke up. "It's kind of beautiful in a way," he said, his voice softer than usual, his eyes wide with wonder. "The way they move, it's like they're part of you. Not just something you carry around, but part of your energy."

Y/N's eyes softened as she looked over at Enzo, her heart warming at his thoughtful comment. She nodded, her black hair falling across her shoulder as she adjusted one of the snakes again. "I feel that too," she said quietly. "It's hard to explain, but they... they're just a part of me, you know? They're always with me, and it feels right to have them close like this."

Mattheo, who had been unusually quiet while the others spoke, leaned forward and gave Y/N a playful, yet affectionate, smile. "I'm not complaining," he said, his voice low, his hands reaching out to gently stroke the scales of the snake draped around her neck. "But I think I like you with the snakes. Makes you look even more dangerous, more unpredictable." His fingers lingered near the snake's head, and it twitched slightly, as if in response to his touch. "I guess it suits you."

Y/N grinned, leaning into Mattheo's touch, her fingers brushing the snake on her wrist. "Dangerous is definitely my vibe," she teased. "But they're not the only things that make me dangerous, you know." She winked at him, her playful attitude only making her seem more intriguing.

Theo, who had been watching with a mix of fascination and amusement, crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. "So, when we go into battle, do we need to worry about the snakes too?" he asked with a grin. "Are they going to strike anyone who gets too close to you?"

Y/N chuckled, her eyes glinting mischievously. "They're not aggressive unless they need to be," she explained, her tone light but serious. "They're protective, but only if I'm threatened." She gave Theo a look. "But I wouldn't test them if I were you."

Draco rolled his eyes, though a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Slytherin through and through," he muttered, shaking his head. "You're something else, Y/N."

Blaise, who had remained mostly silent up until now, raised an eyebrow. "I'll admit, you've definitely found a way to stand out, Kane. I'm not sure if I should be impressed or concerned."

Y/N chuckled again, the sound rich and warm. "Maybe a bit of both," she said, a knowing smile crossing her face. "I think it's time we stop thinking of it as strange and start thinking of it as... just another Slytherin trait."

As the evening wore on, the snakes shifted around her, curling loosely and relaxing into the soft rhythm of the room's atmosphere. The boys, though initially unsure of the sight, had now grown accustomed to it. They found themselves more fascinated by the way Y/N moved with her pythons, how they seemed to be an extension of herself, her presence more striking, more otherworldly with each passing moment.

By the time the night had come to an end, the boys couldn't help but glance over at her, their thoughts running deeper than before. Y/N's connection to her snakes wasn't just something curiousβ€”it was something powerful, something that made her uniquely her.

And in the quiet of the common room, there was a collective realization that Y/N Kane had a magic all her ownβ€”one that went far beyond the normal world of spells and potions. It was the magic of the bond between her and the creatures who followed her every step, a magic that made her both captivating and, undeniably, dangerous.
