You placed your phone down just as Scaramouche said. As of the moment, both of you were sitting on the couch in the living room. You were laying on Scaramouche's lap as he was sitting crisscrossed.

"It's awkward now. I told you talking on phone was much better," you complained while frowning.

"It's not awkward for me," Scaramouche brushed your hair with his fingers as you were laying on his lap.

"Well it is for me. Neither of us are talking," you continued your complaining while Scaramouche continued twirling strands of your hair with his fingers.

"Then talk, idiot." In reality, Scaramouche didn't want you to text him because he liked hearing your voice, not because he just disliked texting. Your voice reminded him that he was wanted. That he'd indeed never be abandoned again.

"I don't know what to say whenever I'm talking to people face to face. When I'm texting, I can just say whatever y'know."

"You can say whatever now as well."

"It's not the same geez."

"Just talk about anything. Tell me about your mom."

"Shawty you already know everything about my mom."

"Then tell me about your dad if you'd like."

"Oh..."

"What?" Scaramouche stopped messing with your hair and glanced at you. "You don't need to talk about him if you don't want to."

"No it's not that. It's just, hardly anyone asks about my father."

"Oh. Well if you don't mind then tell me about him."

"Sure, I guess." You picked yourself up from Scaramouche's lap and faced him. "My dad wasss— how do I say this... uh he was a good man. Me and him were fairly close too but... one day, I dunno why, but one day he just, y'know, went adios."

"Do you have any idea why?" Scaramouche asked while straightening his legs.

"Nope. Not a clue. My mom always said it was because he just 'needed to.' Don't know what that means though lol."

"Do you miss him?"

"Sometimes. Yeah. Of course, who wouldn't? But it's fine now, I guess. I've gotten used to it. After all, it's been a long time since he's left."

"Ah." Scaramouche went silent after that and you gazed at him. "Though, what about you? You've barely told me anything about yourself."

"I never met my father. Nor do I care enough to ask Baal about it. Baal doesn't really like talking about family stuff anyways," he said bluntly.

"Of course you'd be so calm saying that... but hey, I'm fine with the way things are now. Aren't you?"

"Yeah. I guess I am," he mumbled. You smiled and laid on Scaramouche's lap again with a quick sigh of relief. "I'm glad things are better now."

Scaramouche softly smiled and leaned in to give you a brief kiss.

"As am I."
