"Jesus, Kunikuzushi. Calm down." the tapping of his shoes was loud enough as it was heard throughout the car.

"Don't fucking call me that." he barks at Childe who sat in front of the passenger seat. Next to him was Ayato who had somehow managed to get along with Childe in the front seat.

He sat next to Yoimiya, Thoma, and Ayaka as the last row of the car seat was left empty. They all parked outside of the airport, waiting for someone who had just had to take their time getting off the plane.

A year had completely passed and it had been the last few days of summer before your third year in college again. During the span of that time, plenty of things happened. Both good and bad but nothing that you didn't manage to get through.

After the school year, you left the country to take a look around the world. Within just two months of your presence gone, it felt like an eternity to him but he still waited. He told himself that he would wait for you, even if it was a lifetime.

"You know she's not gonna run away." Yoimiya giggles as she sees Scaramouche's grumpy face. Eyebrows furrowed and a scowl on his face.

"She could. Ajax might scare the shit out of her with his face." Ayato side-eyes the ginger who glares at him. 

"Excuse me you fucking boba bitch!" and with that, the two started arguing again.

Scara rolls his eyes at their childishness as the three other passengers could only giggle. The boy leans back in his seat, arms crossed and one leg over the other. He sighs as he tries to be patient enough to see this special someone walk out of the airport doors.

"Okay, but at least I wasn't a professor's sugar daddy!"

"Bruh, you are a walking sugar daddy-"

"Everybody shut the fuck up!" Scaramouche quickly sits upright as he sticks his head towards the front seat once he spots a figure walking out of the doors.

He quickly jumps out of the car as he sees your figure walking, luggage in hand sunglasses on your head. You had a small smile on your face as you were finally home. Traveling around the world was fun but it was time that you came back home.

"Bestie!" Yoimiya waves her hand before running towards you, ignoring the people around.

"Miya!" you yelled back as she would run up to you for an embrace. You could only drop your bags as you hugged her back. "I missed you so much!"

"Y/n!" Ayaka and Thoma approached you to give you hugs as well before Thoma grabs your bags and lead you to the car.

Childe and Ayato stayed with Scaramouche as they could only tease him more as you walked nearer to the car. 

"Hey, Kuni." Childe giggles.

"Kuni, you should move a little so Y/n could sit down." Ayato teases back as he and Childe giggled together.

Honestly, these two would only work together to make his life hell. That would be the only time these two idiots wouldn't be having their asses against each other's throats. 

"Yeah, you can get on in ahead, we'll just be in the back," Yoimiya says before you open the passenger's seat.

You were met by a familiar figure. He sat down on the side of the car rather tensed and he looked like he hasn't seen you for over such a long time.

"Hey." you smiled, waving to him before getting in.

"Hey." he greeted back before looking out the window, away from you.

The others in the car only giggled and faked a cough at the awkwardness of the situation. Somehow, the three idiots were all in the back seat even though there was plenty of room in the middle row. Ayato and Childe seemed like they were having the time of their lives while they giggled to themselves in the front seats.

You looked at Scaramouche worryingly. He looked away from you and kept away from you. Had you done something wrong? This isn't how you guys used to be before so what's with the change in his attitude? Maybe he had a bad day? You could only sigh as you sat leaned to the seat. 

God, what was wrong with him? You were already sitting there so why must he feel so scared? Childe was most definitely gonna make fun of him but it didn't matter because he was scared as hell to talk to you.

Being away from you for two months somehow made him feel cautious of everything he must do around you. He knows that you said, after a year, maybe you two could try again but it didn't mean that you should. It was more of a choice. At the end of the year, one of the two might end up in another relationship, and that one-year pact would just be abolished but he has never heard of you having another relationship, thank god.

He took a deep breath. It's now or never. He has waited too long for this day and he won't let it go to waste. Fuck the people in the car, you were already in front of him. He just had to take the risk.

"Hey," he called out to you. This caught the attention of the others as they slowly listened to your conversation.

"Hm?" you hummed in response.

"There's this concert being held tonight. You wanna go? They got Taylor Swift." he tried to be as cool as possible, not wanting to sound too eager nor too uninterested. He just wanted you to know that he wants to spend time with you as soon as possible.

"I'd love to! It's been a while since the both of us went out alone." you smiled at him, scooting a little closer. "Maybe after that, we can go for some ice cream as well?"

"Sounds good to me." he gives you a small smile. He was happy that he could speak to you like this again. Hopefully, this would lead to a healthier relationship with you. Whether you guys decide to stay as friends or date, hope to the archons that it would be better than the last relationship, considering you two are learning from your past mistakes.

"It's a date then!"
