"You're finally awake." those were the first words you heard him utter as you lifted your head from the table.
"Sorry, the library was way too peaceful so I ended up sleeping instead." you let out a groggy giggle as you rubbed your eyes. Scaramouche also knew this well about you. Whenever you studied, you should always be accompanied by someone else because the peaceful atmosphere that would surround you will just let you fall asleep instead.
"Great. Now that you're awake, we'll need to get at least half of these done because we'll still have a meeting later." ah, right. Since he was the student council president and you were the vice president, that meant that you guys had to work together. He just hopes that you could still remember your duties as the vice president so he wouldn't have to go through so much hassle.
"Right! Sorry for taking up your time! Let's get started with this shall we?" he could only nod in agreement as he watched you enthusiastically gathering your scattered material and taking a good look at them.
This was all new to him. Nostalgic but new.
He could remember it like it was just a memory of yesterday. You would beg him to help you study or tutor you with a lesson you didn't understand and you'd always be so cheerful about doing it. Enthusiastic and ready to learn. But slowly going into your relationship, it started to feel like he had to do it as a responsibility and not because he wanted to help you. He knew you were eager to learn but when the both of you started to dive deeper, it just felt like he was losing the air of what your relationship had been.
Unbeknownst to him, you felt the same feeling of nostalgia. The moment you woke up, it was as if a flash of memory had returned to your mind. Eyes slowly opened only to be met with a calm mesmerizing pair of beautiful indigo eyes. He was on his phone, leaning back and trying to find entertainment as if he was waiting for you to wake up.
"I know you're awake, babe."
Your eyes widened, the heat making its way through your cheeks as those words echoed in your mind.
Babe? Were you dating him? Is that why you somehow feel a little attached to him the moment you crossed paths with him?
"Hey." you put down the paper you were reading and called out to him.
"What?" he hummed in response, his tone sounded a bit irritated but you had concluded that it was just how he was. He refused to meet your eyes as he only concentrated on the page he was holding on to.
You pursed your lips in a thin line, heart beating quick and your morals arguing in your head. Were you really about to ask him? You don't think you'll be able to handle the embarrassment of rejection and mistake if you somehow turned out to be wrong.
"Can you be my boyfriend?" Scaramouche's eyes widened, head quickly darted to you as he stared at your face. You looked so blunt and calm but deep inside, you were freaking out. That was not what you were supposed to say! What you meant to say was either "Were you my boyfriend?" or "Can you tell me about yourself?" but you were just being stupid and careless and you ended up mixing both phrases.
"Uhm! Sorry, that went wrong! I was meant to ask if you were somehow related to me hoping that maybe I could recall some of my memories if I was with a specific person! I swear to god I did not mean to make you uncomfortable!" your hands flew in the air, trying to explain yourself as you could only stutter on your own words the more you spoke.
"It's alright," he forces out a fake cough as you diverted your eyes elsewhere. "I guess you're just curious whether you had a lover or something."
"Never mind that! Uhm, I think I'm finished with this." you quickly changed the subject the chance you got to, hoping not to make this any less awkward and embarrassing. "Why don't we just go to the meeting yeah?"
Childe's eyes felt like they bore holes in your body. The moment you and Scaramouche arrived in the Student Council room, he had accused the both of you going out on a date and attempting to bail on the meeting to which Scara responded to him with a smack on the head and a curse leaving his mouth.
Childe, also referred to as Ajax was someone that you could remember right away. He had a set of ginger hair that somehow became the sole purpose of the teasing he would get, spots of freckles that adorned his face, and beautiful yet seemingly dead blue eyes. He also had a very fiery personality which made it easy for you to recall several events that you have had with him. Some were a bit inconvenient and unlucky while the others were just a blur.
"Here's the agenda for today." you were lost in thought as Scaramouche had already started the meeting with the other members of the student council.
"Since the university's anniversary is coming up, that means it's time for our annual foundation week." he started to speak as he stood up in front, presenting a PowerPoint presentation he had probably prepared on his laptop which was then connected to the projector for everyone to see.
His words were just set as background audio for you as you slowly started to get lost in your thoughts.
Something is definitely not right with this boy. He knew something that you might have known but just forgot. You were no fool. You could tell that he somehow despised you and found you irritating yet here he was, presenting a report on a project that you know you guys were gonna have to work on together. You know he was just forced to deal with you but you might as well take his kindness to your own advantage.
Here's what you know so far: You haven't lost all of your memories. Scenes of flashbacks from years ago were still there which you were thankful for. You didn't wanna live forever having to wonder what the journey you had growing up was like and the gods surely didn't let you go through that.
You could also remember things that happened over a month ago before your incident. All of the events that felt like yesterday to you occurred months ago or so you were told. But somehow, there were still blurry and empty parts of it. The other problem is, that you couldn't remember anything that happened the week before your accident.
Your brain felt like it was a movie with cut-out parts. One scene is playing a memory then next, everything would go black until the next memory where you just seemed to have skipped to.
It was frustrating but you shouldn't worry. You need to be patient to be able to recollect all your memories and you know damn well that the gorgeous raven-haired boy that stood in front of you knows something about you. If he didn't then he wouldn't be showing up in almost every memory you could recall within your college years.
