"Yoimiya?!" Ayato's voice rang through the room as he, his sister, and their blonde housekeeper who was also their friend made their way to the hallways of the hospital quickly.
"Y/n?! Where is she?" he panted as he grabbed onto Yoimiya's shoulders.
"She's inside with the doctor. They're still taking a look at her body." the blonde says in a sad and meek tone as she looked down onto the floor, refusing to meet Ayato's or anyone's eyes.
"Don't say that as if she were dead!" Ayaka stomps her feet as her sobs and cries were starting to get louder.
"What happened? Did you know anything about the incident, Yoi?" Thoma wraps an arm around the younger Kamisato's body as he turns to the young girl with a worried look and a curious mind.
"All I know is she called me crying and I realized that she was on the road when I heard a lot of horns beeping. Before I knew it, I heard a loud crashing sound coming from her line then suddenly it went quiet," she told them the story of how she had heard you from the phone as well as how some authorities came to ask her if she was ever related to a girl with your name sooner after the incident.
"Why would she be crying in the first place?" Ayato averts his gaze to the door of the room where they had put you in.
"That, I don't know. But she did ask me to meet her so I told her she could either come to the café near the school or my dorm." Yoimiya's voice lowered at the last words. She balled her fists and bit her lip as she kept her gaze down the floor.
Yes, she blamed herself for this. Maybe if she was the one who personally went to you while you were in need, you wouldn't be in this situation right now. Instead, you would be wrapped around her arms as you cried your heart out to her but no! This was reality and the truth is you were lying inside a room in the hospital while the doctors examined your severely injured body.
"Yoimiya, it's not your fault." Thoma walks near her, Ayaka still sobbing on his chest as he pats the blonde's shoulder.
"But it is! I could've gone to Y/n to avoid her from being in this situation!" she sobbed, tears finally falling to the ground.
"You damn well know that is not true!" Ayato shouts in return. "Y/n wouldn't want you to blame yourself because you know it's not your fault for this accident to happen!"
"I'm sorry to interrupt." they quickly turned their heads as they heard the door open and the doctor step out.
"Doctor! What's going on? Is she going to be alright?" Ayato dashes toward the older man as he frantically bombarded him with questions.
"Don't fret young man. She'll be alright and she will surely live." the four of them sighed out of relief knowing that you were alive and well.
"Unfortunately." take that back. Maybe alive was just what you will be considering that this old man of a doctor decided to follow up the bad news right after relaying the good one.
"Her head has been severely damaged due to the crash. The worst case possible is she cracked her skull open due to the impact of the accident but thankfully, that isn't the case." was this guy serious, or was he just trying to scare your friends?!
"Although, I must apologize in advance but you must learn about this," he says, looking at the clipboard he had in hand.
"Her having a concussion could result in a high chance of her having memory loss." the gasps of the two ladies were heard as the men stood wide-eyed and shocked at the announcement.
"The best way to define this is that there is a large possibility that she may have lost several of her recent memories due to the accident. The head trauma was rough but not too severe which would cause her to forget everything. If we're lucky enough, these said lost memories could be restored in the right way and time. Give it a week up to a month."
"Chances of her being completely fine without any signs of amnesia is low but it is never down to zero so just keep watch of her once she's awake." the doctor explained before allowing the four of them to enter the room.
Their hearts shattered as they slowly stepped into the room. In the middle of the dimly lit area was a hospital bed where you laid on, sleeping so peacefully as monitors of machines were attached to your body to keep you tracked and alive.
"Oh, Y/n!" Yoimiya mumbles your name as she walks towards your unconscious figure. Her hands were intertwined with your pale and light ones.
You were so light and cold. Almost as if you were dead.
"Please wake up," she whispered as tears slowly trailed down her face again. "I need my best friend."
"Y/n!" an older woman's voice suddenly entered the room and quickly, their eyes darted to a middle-aged woman who was a spitting image of you. Or maybe, it was the other way around.
"How is she? What did the doctor say?" she quickly walks up to your body as an older man comes walking in.
"She'll be alive, at least," Ayato says, a disappointed tone hanging by his tongue.
"At least? What do you mean?" your mother stares at him with a confused look.
"They said that there was a high chance she might have lost some of her memories." Thoma's eyes were on Ayato's figure. He could sense that it was hard for him to break the news to your parents so he had taken the burden of passing it on to them.
"What?!" your mother and father panicked.
"No, no! This can't be happening!" your mother sobbed even more as your father quickly came to her aid.
Your mother had always been overly dramatic but at this moment, could they blame her? Just because of an accident, they could lose their daughter, their friend, and someone special to them.
