○●○
you decided to wait till the next morning to visit childe.
however, you had spent the whole night at the hospital so you were currently exhausted.
after the doctors assured you that your mother was going to be fine, you decided to go home and take a quick nap.
then, you went to visit childe once you had finished resting. fortunately, your body was able to function on 2 hours of sleep.
however, you grew more nervous upon arriving at childe's house. what would you say to him?
perhaps apologizing first would help make the conversation less awkward. you honestly didn't understand how you believed that childe killed your father in the first place.
the tsaritsa was playing with you and you didn't even realize it up till now. nonetheless, you had to make things right.
hesitantly, you rang the doorbell two times, then waited patiently for somebody to open it. about a minute later, you heard some noise from the other side.
a small lady opened the door. she had her blonde hair tied up into a bun and was wearing a maid uniform. "hi."
"er hi? can i see ajax?" you asked her.
"umm, are you sure?" the maid asked, before leaning in closer to your face to whisper. "he's having one of those days."
one of those days...
"yeah i'm sure," you reassured the lady, to which she shrugged her shoulders at. "okay suit yourself. come on in y/n."
you were surprised that she knew your name, then assumed that childe had probably told her. it made you wonder if he talks about you.
as you walked inside, you asked the nurse where his room was and she told you it was upstairs with a narwhale poster attached on the door. it'd be hard to miss.
you thanked her, then walked upstairs to his room. as you approached it, you heard a muffled noise, which gradually got louder.
it sounded like music. which wasn't really surprising knowing childe. however, once you recognized the song, you couldn't help but blankly stare at his door.
who knew he liked "california gurls" by katy perry. after letting out a brief sigh, you knocked on his door, which was followed by a bunch of ruffling and cussing from his side.
the door was still not opening, prompting you to knock again. you noticed the song was still playing and the ruffling didn't stop.
out of curiosity, you opened the door yourself. and instantly regretted it right after.
childe was trying to pause the music on his speaker but seemed to be struggling to do so. once he noticed you were right there, he jumped. "fuck."
as his last resort, he decided to ignore it and force a smile. "hey girlie, what brings you here? oh and ignore the song by the way lol, one of the maids tried to play a prank on me."
and you believed that this man was your father's murderer. you stared at him for awhile, contemplating how you ever fell in love.
after facepalming yourself, you chose to finally say something. "we need to talk, ajax."
"yeah i know. wait a sec," he grabbed the speaker again and smashed it on the floor to stop the song, procuring a concerned look from you. "ok now we can talk!"
"that speaker cost money."
"i can always buy more!"
that physically hurt you. "right... and about my dad," you began. "i didn't kill your father," he right away refuted.
"i know, i'm sorry for thinking you did." the ginger smiled, "i also didn't hurt your mother."
"yeah sorry for that as well," you continued, noticing his grin grow wider. "you should also apologize for yelling at me."
his satisfaction made you twitch an eye. "ok i think i apologized enough."
childe pouted, "fine."
you sat down on one of his chairs, while crossing your arms. "the tsaritsa showed me that you killed my dad. that's why i believed her."
he nodded, taking a seat as well. "i heard."
"do you have any idea why she'd lie about that?" you asked him. he shrugged his shoulders in response, "no clue."
you let the silence take over for awhile as you tried figuring out her reasons. childe stared at you for a moment, then broke the silence. "hey y/n."
you hummed.
"do you think it'd be better if we weren't together?" he inquired, prompting a surprised look from you. "what? are you saying we should break up?"
childe exhaled tiredly, while messing up his hair. "i've thought about it for awhile now. i think your life will be better, and safer, if we weren't dating."
"no," you refused almost immediately. "my life will not be better. you sound like my mom now."
"hey that's not funny," the ginger frowned. "sorry, but it's true."
he got up from his seat and walked up to you, his face appeared more serious now. "are you sure? you have the other groupchat now, the one with your scary friend. you can stay with them."
you got up from your seat as well. "why can't i stay with you too?"
"because they aren't involved in a mafia with a crazy boss who keeps trying to harm you," he replied nonchalantly.
you furrowed your eyebrows at him. "that does not mean i should leave you."
childe let out a small sigh, "i just don't want you to get hurt."
"you literally trained me for this exact reason, i'm not leaving you."
regardless of his insecurities, your words were about to bring the man some solace. he'd been worried you'd leave him ever since your mother tried framing him, so he thought it'd hurt less if he was the one to bring it up.
a fleeting moment passed by, before childe began chuckling. "you are soo in love with me," he remarked smugly, earning a look of disbelief from you.
"you asshole, is that why you said all of that?" you attempted to playfully punch his shoulder, to which he caught your hand. "yes and also no. i really do think you'd be better off without me."
"shut up no i won't," you used your other hand to try punching him, with him catching your other fist as well. "you're trapped now," he grinned, procuring an eye roll from you.
"you look dumb, let me go." the male leaned closer to your face, "how about a kiss first?"
you narrowed your eyes at him, thinking about it for a second. "no." you lightly pushed him away, where he then dramatically fell down. "i'm dead."
"get up. are you a child."
"you killed me. i'm dead," he repeated. you couldn't help but laugh this time. "you can be so weird sometimes."
childe lifted himself up again then suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist, which was rather unexpected. "what're you doing?" you asked with an expressionless face.
"hugging you i think." you returned the hug by wrapping your arms around him as well. "yeah but what for?"
"for still being by my side duh," he smiled. a small smile made its way onto your face too. you questioned what you were so worried about before.
despite your guys' relationship being so chaotic, you were glad that he hadn't given up. surely nothing could separate the two of you.
