This week had gone pretty slow if I'm being honest, there wasn't really much going on except for the fact that me and Harry were going to be having lessons on how to defend ourselves against dementors. I didn't really need them as much as Harry but Professor Lupin asked if I wanted to come along so I agreed. Well I mainly got forced into it by Hermione, she kept telling me what an amazing opportunity it was. I guess she's right but I would of gone anyway because I've read all about patronuses and I just want to know what mine is.

Me and Harry have been getting really close after the incident in Hogsmeade, we are barely ever apart to be honest. I'm not complaining, he is amazing company. It definitely has nothing to do with the fact that I may have a big fat crush on him but no one needs to know that.

I also still couldn't comprehend that Sirius Black is my dad. All these years I was waiting to find out who my parents were but of course my dads a murderer who broke out of Azkaban to come kill me.

"Hey Y/n!" Harry half shouted.

"Harry, hi." I said too him.

"I've been at shouting you for ages!" He said out of breath from chasing me.

"Really? I had no idea I was just a bit lost in thought." I told him.

"That explains it." He said chuckling.

"Anyways it's time to go to Professor Lupin." He told me.

"Oh my god I forgot about that! Come on then Harry!" I said running to the DADA classroom.

(Harry's POV)

Me and Y/n had just got to the classroom after me chasing her for the second time today. We walked into Professor Lupins office and he there in-front of us smiling.

"Harry, Y/n, I'm glad you came!" He said.

"Now I must ask are you both sure about this, as you know this is very advanced magic well beyond the Ordinary Wizarding Level." He told us.

"We're sure." We both said at the same time.

"Well everything's prepared, now the spell I'm going to teach you both is called the Patronus Charm, have you ever heard of it?"

"I've read about it Professor." Y/n said. I had no idea what it was so I just shook my head.

"Well as you will know Y/n, a patronus is a kind of positive force and for the wizard who can conjure one it acts something like a shield for a dementor. Feeding on it rather then him but in order for it to work you both need to think of a memory. A happy memory and a very powerful memory, can you do that?"

We both nodded.

"Yes, very well. Now close your eyes, concentrate and explore your past. Do you both have a memory?" Professor Lupin asked us.

"Allow is to fill you up, lose yourself in it. Then speak the incantation- Expecto Patronum." He told us.

"Expecto Patronum." Me and Y/n said at the same time.

"Very good, Shall we? Now wand at the ready and Y/n you can go first." He said and Y/n stepped forward so she was facing the chest which the Professor was standing near it.

Professor Lupin opened the chest and a dementor erupted from it.

"Come on Y/n you know the spell!" Professor Lupin shouted.

"Expecto Patronum!" She half shouted. Nothing happened and she was becoming weaker.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM" She yelled and a beautiful white shield came from her wand, i could almost make out an animal but it was very faint so I couldn't tell exactly what it was.

As the shield became stronger the dementor was slowly lifted into the chest.

"Wow that was remarkable Y/n!" Professor Lupin said.

"Brilliant!" I ran up to her.

"You almost produced a corporeal patronus, which is a patronus that takes the shape of an animal, only extremely powerful witches or wizards can produce them and for a 3rd year I must say that is extremely impressive." Professor Lupin said with a chuckle.

"That was fun but I feel a bit drowsy." Y/n said and she toppled over but I caught her.

"Yes that is understandable now Harry's turn and Y/n here eat this chocolate, you will feel better." He said and handed Y/n the bar of chocolate.

"Now Harry think of your memory in your head and then you know what to do." Lupin said to me, out of the corner of my eye I could see Y/n give me a thumbs up and one of her beautiful smiles.

Professor Lupin opened the chest again and I was face to face with the dementor.

"Expecto Patronum!" I half shouted.

"Expecto- Expecto- Expect-."

All I remember next is being shook awake by a frightened Y/n.

"Oh thank god Harry your awake." She said and hugged me.

"Right now here we go Harry come on, sit up. Deep breaths, it's alright. I didn't expect you to get it on the first try, I was blown away when Y/n here did it." The Professor said and looked over to Y/n.

"Here eat this, you'll feel better." The Professor said to me handing me some chocolate which I gladly ate.

"That's one nasty dementor."

"Oh no no no Harry that was a boggart, the real thing would of been much much worse." Lupin said.

"Wait then why didn't it change when i stood in front of it?" Y/n asked.

"Oh I just put a simple charm on it that's all, now as a matter of interest, what we're you thinking of Harry? Which memory did you chose?" He asked me.

"This first time I rode a broom, Professor." I told him.

"Well that's not good enough, not nearly good enough." He told me.

"Harry you need a stronger one." Y/n said to me as I walked over to the other side of the room.

"Well there is another." I said

"Is it strong?" The Professor asked me.

"Yes, very."

"Okay very well then let's give it a try, if your ready."

"Just do it." I said getting ready for the boggart to come out of the chest.

I was thinking of my memory, of Y/n. Meeting her, seeing her smile and seeing all the times I made her laugh.

"Expecto Patronum!" Nothing.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" I yelled like Y/n had and an amazing white and blue light came from my wand. The dementor was feeding on it and I placed it back into the chest with Professor Lupin closing it when the dementor was inside.

"Ha ha very good Harry." Lupin said to me.

"Well done Harry that was amazing!" Y/n said and jumped up at me and gave me a hug. I felt heat rise to my cheeks and hoped that no one would notice.

"Thankyou Y/n." I said smiling to the ground.

"I think we've had enough." Y/n said.

"Yes, here Harry let me have a word and eat this it helps, it really helps." Professor Lupin said to me.

"Harry I'll catch up with you in a bit I've got to go, Thankyou Professor." Y/n said heading to the door.

"Y/n wait one second." Lupin said.

"What is it?" She asked sweetly.

"What you did back there was absolutely incredible, do you mind me asking what memory did you use?" He asked her and I sat up wanting to listen.

"Oh- uh um it was meeting Harry, Mione and Ron for the first time. It is the strongest one I've got." She said smiling.

"Ah very well then." Professor Lupin said.

"Thankyou again Professor, see you later Harry." She said, smiling at me.

Once she had left the room Professor Lupin turned to me.

"You thought of her didn't you?" He asked me.

"Uh wha- what?" I asked shocked that he asked me that.

"Y/n you thought of her, she is your happiest memory." He spoke looking at me.

"Uh, yes." I said, there was no point in lying as he obviously already knew.

"I can tell how you feel about her just by how you look at her, and I have a feeling that she feels the same way." He told me and I couldn't help but blush and I had the biggest smile on my face.

But he was probably wrong, there was no way someone like Y/n would like me. She's perfect.

"Harry, just promise me you will take care of her, she's been through lots of trauma in her past just like you."

"I promise Professor."
