Y/N Element: you pick :)
Y/N Gender: Female

Y/N POV:

Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go

Tonight was my senior prom. I was graduating from Element High this year and was super excited. My friends and I were all getting ready together, so we did each other's hair and make-up.

Where they play the right music
Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king

"Who knows, Y/N, tonight you might meet a new guy!" My friend, Lily, an Earth person, styled my hair. I was good at talking with others, but never the best with guys. I had been in a few relationships in the past, but none of them worked out.

"I highly doubt that, Lily. You know I'm no longer interested in that kind of stuff."

"Don't doubt me, Y/N! C'mon, have some faith!" She laughed and I rolled my eyes.

As our other friends finished getting ready, we all got into a limo that Lily's dad had rented. It was a good 20 minutes or so until we arrived at prom. I took a deep breath as I got out of the limo; tonight was going to be a fun night out with friends. I didn't expect much else to happen.

We all entered the building and were immersed in the party. A disco ball spun in the center of the ceiling and a multi-colored dance floor was beneath it. A DJ was stationed at the front of the room and a snack table was on the side of the room. We walked more towards the dance floor.

Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high

I noticed all the people that were here, quite a few girls, but many more guys. Guys were trying to flirt with girls left and right, but it was pretty much unsuccessful. There were a few guys who got lucky and were dancing with girls. I realized I was zoning out, but then stopped. I shouldn't get my hopes up.

With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

My friends and I were now stationed on the dance floor. We weren't in the middle, but kinda close. They began to dance and I stood there. They didn't notice I wasn't dancing until my friend Rose looked over to me and reached out to me. "Y/N, come dance with us! We know you can!"

"Ok fine." She grabbed my wrist and dragged me to where our others friends were, and I began to dance. I didn't move much at first, but once I got into the music, I was dancing full on.

You are the dancing queen
Young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
You can dance, you can jive

Having the time of your life
Ooh, see that girl, watch that scene
Digging the dancing queen

My friends and I were so caught up in having fun and dancing, that we didn't notice multiple pairs of eyes beginning to look our way.

Wade POV:

I watched as some of my friends tried flirting with girls, to only get rejected. I chuckled slightly; I kinda felt bad for them. I began looking around the room, until a group of girls caught my eye, one specifically. She had pretty (eye color) eyes and (hair color) hair and was wearing a (favorite color dress/suit). I continued to gaze at her, and I didn't notice the smile that begun to go on my face.

One of my friends must've noticed because he snapped me out of my trance. "Hello... Earth to Wade..." I blinked rapidly and looked at him.

"You busy staring at that girl over there?"

"W-what? No! Obviously not!" I got slightly pink.

My friend smirked and raised his eyebrows. "Sure... you should go talk to her. See how it goes."

I smiled widely. "You know what? You're right!"

You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone

I turned back towards where she was, to see she wasn't there anymore. I continued to look around to see that her and her friends had split up. A few of her friends with talking to other girls, and the others were now with guys. I scanned for her face to find her by the snack table. "Well, here goes nothing!"

Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance

As I approached the table, a slow song began. This could not be more perfect! She noticed my arrival and looked over at me, a skeptical look on her face.

"Hi, I'm Wade."

"I'm Y/N." She continued to look at me skeptically.

"Look, I'm not trying to creep you out or excessively flirt with you. I just wanna say that I think you're really pretty and I was wondering if you wanted to dance with me?"

She was silent for a few moments but then smiled and nodded. "Sure."

I smiled widely and held out my hand. She took it, so I led her to the dance floor. I put my hands on her hips, and she put her hands on my shoulders.

As we danced, we began to talk, and we had a lot in common. "I can't believe we never talked at school before!"

She looked away from my gaze. "Yeah, I haven't had the best luck with guys."

I smiled softly. "Well, I think this is going pretty well, don't you?"

She returned my gaze and looked me in the eyes. "Yeah, this is nice."

As we danced, I noticed her friends watching us and cheering for her. On the other side of the room, my friends were doing the same thing.

As the song ended, I spun her around, and she giggled. She had such a cute laugh.

We spent the rest of prom together just talking and dancing. I met her friends and she met mine. By the end of the night, all of us, my friends and hers, were hanging out together. The final song was played and people began to exit the building. Y/N and I exited together, holding hands. We saw her friends walking towards a limo. She turned to me.

"Well, that's my ride I guess." She said sadly.

"I'm so glad I met you tonight, Y/N. We should definitely keep in touch."

She smiled. "Here's my number so we can chat after high school." She handed me a paper with her number on it. She began walking away but I gently held onto her wrist.

"W-wait, I have to ask. Am I allowed to k-kiss you?" I asked, slightly terrified of her response.

"I'd love to have my first kiss with you." We both leaned in, and our lips gently touched. The kiss lasted a few seconds before we parted and both smiled at each other.

"Let's go you two lovebirds! The limo is waiting!" One of Y/N's friends yelled out to us. Y/N laughed and looked at her, then looked back at me.

"That's my que. Thank you for tonight, Wade."

"Anytime Y/N." She walked to the limo and got in. As they began driving away, she waved at me through the window, so I waved back.
