"Hi, baby."

A smile immediately graced Aurora's face as the 2-year-old stood at the entrance of the room. He was wearing nothing but his diapers and a pair of her husband's sunglasses that looked way too big for his cute little face.

"What are you doing with papa's sunglasses?"

Xander gave his mother a wide cheeky grin in response as he held the sunglasses upside down on his face with his two small hands. He began to slowly toddle his way towards Aurora, the smile never leaving his face.

When he reached Aurora's side, he brought his hands up, signaling that he wanted to be held.

"Up, mama, up," he babbled, starting to get impatient with his mother's lack of response.

"Alright, baby," chuckled Aurora as she picked Xander up and placed him on her lap. She was in the middle of getting ready and was sitting at her vanity table when her adorable son decided to pay her a little visit.

Her son.

Even after 2 blissful years, she still couldn't believe she was a mother. Every day was a blessing and to be able to spend it with her family was everything she had ever dreamed of.

One night after she had given birth to Xander, she had stayed up anxiously worrying about her ability to be a good mother. But Xavier was there to reassure and comfort her. It was their first time being parents and being scared was natural. They would be doing this together and with him by her side, she felt more ready to take on motherhood.

To her, being a mother was probably one of the best things that ever happened to her. She never knew she could ever love someone as much as she loved Xander. Every time she looked at Xander, he reminded her of her and Xavier— of the fact that Xander was a creation of their love for each other.

Every moment she spent with her family was a blessing. And it was the little moments that she loved and cherished the most.

She loved it when Xavier surprised her at her office with Xander in his arms and takeout from their favorite restaurant in the other. She loved waking up on the weekends with Xander's face buried into her neck and his little feet in Xavier's face because she knew Xander liked sneaking into their bed during the early hours to join them. She loved coming home to her husband cooking with Xander sitting on his shoulders playing with his father's hair.

And she especially loved watching the way Xavier interacted with their son.

"Mama Gwass mama," Xander giggled, clapping his hands.

"Sunglasses, baby," corrected Aurora, placing a kiss on his chubby cheek.

"Sungwass," he repeated, causing her to smile.

"Good job, my sweet. But they're upside down," laughed Aurora, taking the lopsided sunglasses off his face. "Here, let mama help you."

His bright grey eyes that were full of innocence stared back at her through the mirror in front of them— a smile never leaving his face. His dark brown hair that he had inherited from both her and Xavier was starting to get long and she made a mental note to take him to get his hair cut. He was a big baby, a trait he definitely got from Xavier, and carrying him for long periods of time was actually starting to tire her out.

But despite being tired, just seeing his happy smile whenever she carried him automatically erased her fatigue. He was her world now and she wouldn't have it any other way.

"My handsome boy," she cooed, placing the sunglasses onto his face before running her hand through his dark brown locks.

Xander giggled as he slammed his tiny hands on the table before his attention was immediately directed to the brushes on her vanity. His interest in the sunglasses was long gone and brushed off to the side as he climbed off his mother's lap and began to play around with the rose-colored brushes.

"What mama doing?" He asked innocently, tapping her brush on the table, liking the way the metal clinked against the glass top.

"Mama's doing her makeup," answered Aurora, going back to brushing powder onto her face. She could still see what Xander was doing from the corner of her eye and she wanted to coo at how adorable he looked standing on his tippy toes as he tried to see above the table. "And what is my Xander doing?"

"Xander, too," he looked up at her and began to mimic what he saw his mother doing just seconds before. He took the clean brush that Aurora had sneakily swapped out of his grasps and began to tap his face, causing her to chuckle.

How was he so freaking cute?

"Well, mama thinks Xander is already very handsome," She leaned down to kiss his nose, causing him to giggle. Before she could sit back up, he latched his arms around her neck. She brought him back to her lap as he continued to hug her.

"Xander hansun," he repeated as he played with her long hair, something he loved doing since he was just a baby. "Mama, pwetty."

"Thank you, baby," she rubbed his back soothingly, suddenly reminded that he was still only in his diapers. "What happened to your clothes? Weren't you supposed to be getting dressed with papa?"

"No dress. Xander see mama— like mama," his little eyebrows furrowed as he tried to articulate what he wanted to say. He had just begun to talk a lot and was still learning new words every day.

Aurora had to admit, there were times when she had no idea what Xander was trying to say. But she had gotten used to his babbling these past few months that she could piece together what he meant based on his emotions or the way he was acting.

"Papa likes mama, too."

She slightly jumped at the sound of his voice, having caught her off guard. She met Xavier's eyes in the mirror and the two exchanged a loving glance. He had been leaning against the door, watching his wife and son's exchange with a gentle expression on his face.

He had the sleeves of his white dress shirt rolled up, having just given Xander a bath. After drying Xander with a towel and leaving Xander outside with his toys, he had gone to drain the bath as well as rearrange the toys in the tub. It had been only 5 minutes, but Xavier found that his cheeky son had snuck off to find his mother in nothing but his diapers.

"Does mama like papa?" Xavier walked over to where she sat with Xander still in her lap and leaned down, brushing his lips with hers briefly.

"You already know the answer to that," she smiled as he kissed her lips. Xander let out an annoyed huff and pouted as he squirmed in her lap. "I love you."

Xander was at a phase where he hated when Xavier kissed Aurora— or let alone any physical affection.

"No, papa, stowp it, papa," grumbled Xander, pushing Xavier's face away from Aurora, causing Aurora to laugh. Xander used his small hands to cover her mouth. "Mama mine."

This time, it was Xavier who was pouting.

"Mama's mine," argued Xavier playfully, trying to look sad. He had to hold back the urge to smile.

"No, mama mine," huffed Xander, getting a little frustrated at his dad's persistency.

Xavier sighed dramatically in defeat, placing a kiss on Xander's forehead. Xander let go of Aurora's mouth and she, too, placed a kiss on his cheek.

"I guess you win this round, buddy."

Xander had no idea what Xavier was saying, but there was one thing he loved more than keeping Xavier from Aurora, and that was having both his parents' attention on him.

He was an affectionate child and often craved being doted on. He loved the attention everyone gave him, especially when it came to his parents.

"You look so beautiful, sweetheart," Xavier murmured, rubbing Aurora's shoulders lovingly while staring at her through the mirror. "Why couldn't we spent the day— just the three of us?"

It was his 31st birthday and all he wanted to do was spend the day with his wife and son. Instead, everyone was coming over— and by everyone he meant, everyone. Aurora made it her mission to do something special for his birthday every year, and usually, that meant hosting a small party for him.

It started out with surprise parties, but Aurora was genuinely so bad at keeping her mouth shut that she would accidentally blurt her plans when she wasn't careful.

"Because your birthday is a special day," Aurora replied, using the same answer she gave him every time he asked. She wanted to roll her eyes because she knew secretly he enjoyed having everyone over. "And besides, I have the day planned for the three of us tomorrow."

"We could just do that today?" He pouted, rubbing her shoulders in hopes to convince her otherwise.

"Everyone's already on their way over," Aurora shook her head with an amused smile, before gesturing for him to lean down before whispering into his ear. "Steph and Ethan are offering to watch Xander tomorrow night, so it'll just be the two of us— unless you don't want that anymore?"

"So no more, love," he stood up, raising his hands in defense, causing her to roll her eyes in amusement. "I can most definitely wait until tomorrow."

"So, now you're all patient?"

"I'm a pretty patient man, baby," Xavier winked at her, before bending down, holding his arms out for Xander to climb into. "Now, come on, bud, we gotta leave so your mama can finish getting ready,"

Xander shook his head and pouted, not really wanting to leave his mom's warm embrace.

"Aren't you excited to see grandma and grandpa? Colton and all your aunties and uncles are coming over in a bit," reasoned Aurora, giving his bum a little pat. "The faster you get ready, the faster you can play with your cousin, baby."

"Colty?" Xander's eyes lit up at the mention of his cousin whom he adored very much. "Gwanma? Gwanpa?"

"Yeah, buddy, they're all going to be here any minute now," nodded Xavier, smiling at how easily Aurora was able to get Xander to listen.

Xander gasped, immediately detaching himself from Aurora and launching himself into Xavier's arms.

"Papa, go!"

His urgency had both Aurora and Xavier laughing.

"Alright, buddy, let's go get dressed," Xavier stood up, giving Aurora a small peck on the cheek before heading towards the door.

"Babe," Aurora called out, shifting through her collection of lipsticks.

"Hmm?" Xavier turned back around as he continued to tickle Xander in his arms. She couldn't help but smile whenever she heard Xander's giggles.

"After you finish dressing him, can you come back in here? I want to give you something before the party starts."

Xavier furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Baby—I thought we agreed to not buy anything this year?"

"I didn't— I- you'll like the surprise. I promise."

"Alright," he walked back to her, giving her another sweet peck on the lips before walking towards the door again. "I'll see you in a bit, love."

"Wuv you, mama," called out Xander, making her swoon. Her son had just barely gone out the door and already she missed his bubbly presence.

"I love you, too, baby."

She watched Xavier's figure disappear with a giggling Xander in his arms. She couldn't help but admire her husband for being such a great father. She could see how much love he had for their son just through the way he interacted with Xander or the way he gazed at Xander adoringly.

He wasn't afraid to get sweaty whenever he played hide and seek with Xander, which usually ended in a chase. He wasn't afraid to give his son his full attention whenever Xander was babbling on about his toys and he wasn't afraid to take time out of his day to spend time with Xander.

So, in her eyes, Xavier was the best dad in the world and she couldn't wait to tell him the news.

"Everyone's about to arrive, sweetheart, are you sure you don't want to wait until after the party?"

Xavier strolled into the room with a now fully dressed Xander in his arms. He whistled as he watched Aurora walk out of their joint walk-in closet as she paused to fix her earrings. He had to bite back a groan as he watched her look up at him with an amused smile playing on her lips. Her cheeks turned a light tint of red, which did not go unnoticed by Xavier.

He loved that he still had that effect on her.

"I'm sure," she nodded as she stood in front of him. "Hi, my handsome boy." She rubbed her son's cheek adoringly, before planting a kiss on his cheek.

"What about me?" Xavier asked, raising an eyebrow, wanting to get some of her love.

Aurora had to bite back a smile as she leaned up to kiss her husband's cheek— her heels allowed her to reach him a bit easier. "Hi, handsome."

Xavier wasn't having it and instead of letting her get away, he pulled her back to kiss her on the lips. "Now that's a proper kiss."

She couldn't help but grin as she stepped back. "How do I look?"

"Beautiful, as usual," he sat down on the bed and placed Xander on his lap. The toddler was too preoccupied with his father's phone to even notice what was going on around him.

She was wearing a simple tan colored off-the-shoulder sundress that flowed down past her knees. Xavier couldn't help but stare as he admired her beauty, which seemed to be everlasting.

Xavier pulled Aurora back to him so that she was standing in between his legs and in front of both him and Xander. He gently caressed her hip, that seemed to have filled out more after giving birth to their son.

"How did I get so lucky?" Xavier asked, rubbing small circles on her hip as he looked up at the love of his life.

"I think I'm the lucky one," whispered Aurora, placing her hand around his and giving it a squeeze. They exchange a small smile— one that spoke more than words.

Xander looked up from the phone in his hands and frowned. Reaching forward, he pushed Xavier's hand off Aurora, causing Aurora to throw her head back in laughter.

Oh, their cheeky little boy.

"Damn," frowned Xavier looking down to see that Xander had his attention back on the phone. "We weren't even hugging this time— he won't even let me touch you."

Aurora walked back into the restroom where she hid her little surprise. "Jealousy runs in the family, babe."

"Yeah, but you're my wife. I'm allowed to touch you. Right buddy?"

There was a pause.

"No," replied Xander, mindlessly, eyes not once leaving the phone. Aurora wasn't even sure if he knew what they were talking about, but the timing of that "no" left her amused as hell.

There was never a dull moment in their house and she loved it.

Xavier cursed under his breath causing Aurora to shoot him a scolding look as she walked out of the bathroom with a small beige box that was tied together with a red ribbon and a small card sitting on top.

"Happy birthday, babe." There was a small smile playing on her lips as she handed the box to her husband. He gave her a suspicious look before hesitantly taking the box.

"Thank you, sweetheart," he murmured, glancing from the box to her twinkling eyes. He shook the box, hearing a clunking sound, making him curious. "This isn't the chicken feet your mom orders every time we get dim dum, right?"

She could tell he was semi-joking, but there was also a hint of seriousness as he really believed that there would somehow be chicken feet in the damn box.

"It's nothing weird, I promise," she laughed, taking her place in front of the father-son duo. She gently ran her hands through Xander's hair as he continued to focus on the phone. "You'll love it."

"Happy birthday to the best papa in the world," he read out the card, the words making his smile grow even larger if that was even possible. "Thank you, love."

"That isn't even the main surprise— open the box," she urged as he finally untied the ribbon and slowly opened the top. Aurora's heart was fluttered in her chest as she was starting to feel a bit nervous.

It was like the first time all over again.

Xavier froze, staring at the contents of the box. He held the pink and white test up in his hands before quickly grabbing the ultrasound photo to get a closer look.

"You're pregnant, again?" He asked, looking up at her in awe. He placed the still unbothered Xander onto the bed and stood up to hold Aurora in his arms as he spun her around in a circle. "When did you go see Dr. Huynh?"

"Yesterday— before work," she answered once he placed her back onto her feet. He kept his arms around her as she further leaned into his embrace. "I wanted to surprise you for your birthday. So, um...surprise?"

"Baby," Xavier whispered, cupping her face in his hands as he stared at her endearingly. "Best surprise ever."

He pecked her forehead, and then her cheeks, before giving her a short but sweet kiss on the lips.

"Are you happy?" She murmured, leaning her forehead against his.

"Fucking ecstatic."

"Language," scolded Aurora as he continued to pepper kisses all over her face. One thing that didn't change at all was his potty mouth and even Xander began to scold his father when he slipped up.

He didn't even respond with a cheeky retort as he continued to gaze at her, admiring all the little details. His eyes held so much love for her— for the woman he loved with all his heart. He leaned down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss, one that took her breath away like every other kiss they shared. He tried to deepen the kiss, but Aurora pulled away.

"Xander's right there."

"He's distracted," he murmured, leaning in again, but they were interrupted by a loud shout, followed by the slam of their front door.

Rather rudely, if you asked him.

Xavier groaned, already feeling the familiar annoyance bubble inside him. "Why does he even have the keys to our house?"

Their once quiet house was now filled with chattering coming from their family members downstairs. But there was one particular person who loved pushing Xavier's buttons even after all these years.

Aurora stifled a laugh, leaning her head on his chest as she heard his loud footsteps walk up the stairs. She already knew he was doing this on purpose.

"Let's get this mother fucking party started!"

Not even a second after his holler, Elijah Knight stuck his head through the door, with his signature mischievous grin on his face.

"I'm about to kick your fucking ass you asshole."

"Uwcle Wija."

"Boys, language!"
