Two months. It's been an entire two months since Rumer broke out of the precinct and killed Theo Galavan's sister, Tabitha. Two entire months of searching for a girl who hadn't even left the city. Jim pulled at the skin on his face, "How hard is it to find one girl in a city of people willing to sell anyone out?!"
Harvey looked up from his newspaper, "Don't beat yourself up Jimbo. We'll catch her, cool down a little bit. Smell the roses or somethin." Just as he'd finished, Alvarez came up to Jim, "Gordon, Theo Galavan just called in. The girl, Mills, he saw her in his apartment."
Jim thanked Alvarez and stood, looking at Harvey, "Roses, right here. Come on Harvey."

Jerome walked all around Penguin's place looking for Rumer. He hadn't seen her all day and was starting to get mad, and even a little worried.
She had a price on her head, everyone wanted her destroyed. It wasn't safe for either of them to spend much time outside, which is why they agreed not to unless it was very important. "Penguin. Where's Rumer?" Jerome asked angrily, barging into Penguin's work room, as if he was behind Rumer's disappearance.
Penguin looked at Jerome, irritated and practically crazy, "If this is another one of your pranks, Mr. Valeska, I don't want to hear it." Penguin smirked in that little way he does, with the side of his mouth and nose wrinkling up, and continued, "Some of us have more important things to do than sit around and pretend to be dead. Now I'm sure she's in here somewhere. Go try looking."
Jerome smiled and chuckled a little under his breath, the smile leaving his face quickly, "Do you really think I didn't try that already? I've searched all over this place, she isn't here."
Penguin's face dropped. He wasn't too fond of Jerome, but he didn't want anything bad happening to Rumer. And her going missing was definitely something bad. Just as he was about to say something, his mother ran through the door, "Oh, Oswald! Thank you so much for sending your friend to find me. I do not know what would have happened to me, but it would not be good."
Gertrude hugged her son and cried into his suit. She looked up at him, a mother's mind always ready to critique, "Why did you change your hair?" Penguin shook her question off, "Mother, the friend that helped you, what did they look like?"
Penguin ushered his mother to a chair, helping her sit, "Well, she was very friendly. She brought me here. Her hair was little, a little too short for a lady if you ask me, with pink in it. She was brown and had on a tool belt, also like a man." Penguin kneeled in front of his mother, taking her hands in his, "Mother, she dropped you here? Did she say where-"
Gertrude stopped him, "Oswald, is this girl your woman? Is she why you changed your hair and have that big man standing in the corner?" Jerome cut in this time, "No ma'am, Rumer's all mine." Gertrude looked at Penguin, then at Jerome, "Who are you? Oswald, all of these people!" She said bewildered. Jerome walked closer to her, extending his hand, "Jerome Valeska, Mrs. Cobblepot. That girl who helped you? That's my girl, now did she tell you where she was going?"
Gertrude shook her head. Jerome was starting to get very frustrated with her bumbling, "Anything! DID SHE TELL YOU ANYTHING!?" He yelled at her. Penguin glared at Jerome, "You, will not yell at my mother! Is that understood, Mr. Valeska? If not you can leave."
Jerome smiled at the two and sat in a chair, gesturing for them to continue. Gertrude looked back at her son, "She did tell me that Mr. Galavan would not be able to hurt us ever again." Jerome's smile pulled taut as he slouched in his chair, "That is all I needed to hear."
Jerome stood and headed out of the room, leaving Penguin to hug his mother and explain that he had to go help Rumer.

"Theo? Mr. Galavan, it's GCPD, open up." Jim said pounding on Theo's apartment door. Theo opened the door, a curious look on his face, "Hello detectives, do you need something?" Jim felt his eyebrows crease, "You called us? Rumer was said to be sighted in your living area?"
Now was Theo's turn to be confused, "I never made any kind of call or report Detective Gordon. Someone must have made a mistake." Jim put his gun away and nodded, smiling tightly at Theo, "Sorry for the inconvenience then Mr. Galavan. Have a nice day."
"You too, gentlemen." Theo said closing the door. As The two men walked out Jim thought out loud, not seeing Jerome and Penguin, "If Rumer isn't there, and Theo didn't make that call, what do you think happened?" He asked Harvey, who was nowhere near as concerned with the issue as Jim. "Dude, who cares? It was just a fluke, Alvarez screwing up a call."
Jim got into the car, "I don't think so. There was something weird about that." Jim said as they drove off. Penguin and Jerome, having heard the first part of the conversation, stopped in their tracks, "She can't not be in there." Jerome said like it was obvious.
Penguin held him back from walking any further, "No, of course there isn't any way she's anywhere else, but someone called, and it wasn't Galavan. She planned this. The last thing she'll need is for us to barge in and mess it up. That's why we didn't know. I'm sure Theo will be dead by the end of the day and Rumer will be in safe reach again."
The more Jerome thought about it, the more it did make sense. He didn't tell her about his plan, because she would probably do something to alter the way everything went. "Fine, let's go then." Jerome said as he followed behind Penguin back to the car.

Theo took his suit jacket back off and went into Tabitha's old play room where he had Rumer hung up, "That was close. It's a good thing you were able to keep quiet or all of your friends would be dead." Theo pressed resume on the camera he had out and walked over to Rumer, bloody, bruised, and all alone.
"You seem to enjoy home movies, Miss Mills. I quite enjoy them myself, but I haven't had the pleasure of making one in a long time," He said as he looked Rumer in the eye that wasn't covered by her curly hair, "You're the biggest nuisance I have had in a while. Now, do you prefer the knife or the needle?" He asked her seriously, "I'm waiting on an answer Miss Mills."
Rumer mumbled around the gag in her mouth, her words muffled and inaudible. "Oh, the knife? Me too." Theo said as he picked the small scalpel-like knife off of the table.
