It was the morning of the reunion. Kelly Severide was just starting to wake up. He rubbed his eyes and looked to the women laying next to him. She was still fast asleep.

Kelly moved closer to her and placed a kiss to her shoulder. She started to stir. "Good morning beautiful."

"5 more minutes." The blond pulled the pillow over her face, trying to block out the sun.

Kelly laughed at his fiancé. "Ashley come on. It's time to get up."

"No." She snuggled further into the bed.

"Alright fine you asked for it." Kelly began to tick her. She immediately burst into laughter.

"Kelly...stop...." She was trying to get words out but Kelly kept tickling her. "Alright... I'm... getting... up!"

Kelly finally stopped tickling her. He was sitting on top of her by this point. "Good." Kelly leaned down and gave her a kiss. "Go shower. I'll start breakfast."

Kelly got up and pulled a pair of sweatpants on and headed towards the kitchen. Ashley watched Kelly walk away and wondering how she got so lucky.

She got up and went and took a shower. By the time she was done Kelly had breakfast all ready and sat out on the counter. Ashley came out of their bedroom her hair still wet.

She was wearing a pair of shorts and a black v-neck. She took a seat at the island. Kelly placed a cup of coffee in front of her. "Thank you."

"Always." Kelly took a seat next to her and the two began to eat. "So after I eat I'll take a shower and then we have a couple errands to run."

"Okay sounds good."

The two of them finished breakfast and then Kelly went to shower. Once Kelly was done they headed out to run their errands.

"So what all do we need to do?"

"Heather asked me to pick up stuff for the reunion. She didn't have time to grab everything."

"Ah okay."

Kelly drove around town picking up the items Heather had asked him for. They then dropped everything off at the school and headed back home to get ready.

While Ashley went to go get ready, Kelly took a seat on the couch. He couldn't help but let his mind wondering.

Wondering if Jessica would be there. He had his doubts since she hasn't shown up since the night she left. She didn't even come to town when her mother died. So why would she come to the reunion.

Kelly looked up on the shelf. He still had a picture from their senior prom. It was of Matt, Hallie, Jessica, and him. He always told Ashley that he just liked the photo. Even though the truth was he missed Jessica and he felt stupid for everything but knew she had probably moved on.

Kelly looked at the underside of his arm to show a tattoo. It was Jessica's initials. He could never go through with getting it covered up. He always said it reminded him of where he's been and the mistakes he's made.

It bothered Ashley but she had let it go after all these years. Ashley had met Kelly durning a fire drill at the elementary school she was working at. She was just a student teacher at the time.

The two of them hit it off and began seeing each other almost immediately. They had had their ups and downs. They had separated for a short time but then got back together.

Kelly had asked her to marry him and she said yes. They were due to be married within the next 2 months. Kelly thought he was finally ready and had moved on fully from Jessica.

Kelly felt his phone buzz. He looked down at the screen to see it was the group chat he had with April, Matt, and Heather. The message was from April. All it said was She's home.

Kelly instantly felt his heart drop to his stomach. He hadn't prepared himself for this. He never thought she would come back. Kelly was starting to become nervous. He knew he would see her and more than likely have to talk to her.

What was he suppose to say after all this time? That he was sorry and that he still loved her? Kelly immediately shook the thought from his head. He was engaged to Ashley and had moved on. Anything him and Jessica had was in the past and would stay there.

Ashley finished getting ready and came out to the living room. "bathroom is open."

Kelly nodded and then got up to go get ready. Hoping tonight wasn't going to be awkward or a mistake.
