Mogami and everyone else was in the cafeteria 

Mogami : ( he should have been happy since he wasn't being treated like crap but he wasn't… ) not bad… 

Sumire : ( I don't know how but somehow people are starting to talk to Mogami, I'm honestly so happy about it, he should be too but i don't get it…) 

Nishikata : hey Mogami you should look a lot more happier not that everyone is treating you better… 

Mogami : they aren't… 

Nishikata : what?

Mogami : they are just scared of you nishikata since you three are always with me… everyone will treat me differently once you aren't there to see… 

Nishikata : dipshits…. 

Takagi : I really just want to slap them so hard… Speaking of slapping… Where the heck is that bitch… 

Sumire : she hasn't come to school for a days don't know what's up with her and honestly I don't care… 

Mogami : ( he just gave them a blank look)  why are relationships so God damn complicated… I really hate relationship… I Don't think I ever want to be in one… well I don't think I'll even get the chance to get in a relationship… 

Sumire : wait. You don't want to be in a relationship? 

Mogami : never.. 

Nishikata : why's that? ( well knowing Takagawa has a crush on him makes it difficult) 

Mogami : It doesn't matter I don't think I even have a chance for a relationship at this point…. 

Nishikata : again, why do you think that? 

Mogami : well for one my parents are getting marriage proposals for me since my dad is the director of the NPA and I am a genius detective and because of this hair I look nice now …. From the way things are going… I Think I'll be married just after finishing this school.. 

Sumire : ( her mind froze…) ( he'll… get… married?) 

Nishikata : ( he noticed the shock on sumire's face) so early?! 

Mogami : ( calmly) most probably… 

Takagi : how are you so calm about possibly getting married to someone you don't even know!! 

Mogami : well…. I mean i don't really know what romance is…. My parents want the best from me… Apparently if I was to fall in love they wouldn't mind me getting married that way…. I doubt that will ever happen… 

Takagi : what do you mean by that?

Mogami : well for one…. I don't think I'll ever fall in love… 

Sumire : ( she felt really sad but she didn't let it show) why though… 

Mogami : it's a bit hard to explain…. ( he looked around for a bit and then he asked a random girl something) 

Random girl : I have that just wait a sec ( she handed him something from her bag and then went somewhere with random guy) 

Nishikata : what'd you get? 

Mogami : a paper weight.. ( he took out a glass prism) 

Nishikata : what are you gonna do with that? 

Mogami : just wait and watch 

He placed the prism on the table 

Mogami : to most people, actually no almost everyone, relationships are like this prism 

Takagi : that's a weird analogy, how so? 

Mogami : look something like this transparent piece of glass…. It's a part of our life we rarely notice… 

Sumire : ok… 

Mogami : but a single change in perspective… ( he turned the glass prism and rainbow light spread around them) and it can make everything more beautiful… 

Nishikata : people don't usually value their relationships or friendships that much but they don't realise how much of their life and happiness depends of them… 

Mogami : exactly… And just like these fragile glass prisms… They can break easily… 

Nishikata : … 

Mogami : in my success as a detective I've seen many cases of relationships falling apart… 

Takagi : oh…. 

Mogami : decades worth of relationships all wiped out or something infinitely small… Relationships are way to fragile… Even if you do everything right a relationship can still fall apart… I'm not strong enough to protect one... Or protect myself from One...

Nishikata : so let me get this straight… You want to make friends and fall in love… But you're afraid it will all go horribly wrong…. So You don't even wanna try… 

Mogami : bingo

Sumire : but that's too negative!! 

Mogami : takagawa… My Life has been a complete and utter failure… Everytime I try to do something… Everything goes wrong… of course I'd think negatively… 

Sumire : don't call yourself a failure… 

Nishikata : she's right Mogami 

Mogami : other than that the other important fact is, I don't see anyone else falling for me atleast in this school… 

Sumire : ( extremely sad but trying not show it) so you'll get married? 

Mogami : ( he shrugged) probably… mom and dad want me to be happy, they think a partner will help… I Guess I can hope for the best… 

Sumire : ( why am I so… sad… I want him to be happy too… But… I Can't understand my own feelings…) 

Mogami : I won't be surprised if the unlucky girl who gets stuck with me, cheats… And frankly I can understand where she's coming from…. 

Takagi : don't just say something so morbid! ( she tried to cheer him up) 

Sumire : stop it… It's enough… we know why you make fun of yourself… ( he has the mind of a philosopher and the intellect of a scientist…. And yet he doesn't have any confidence) 

Mogami : ….. And this is why I was hesitant on making friends with you guys… At least something good happened to me… 

Nishikata : ( he tried cheering Sumire and Mogami both but it didn't work) 

Mogami : (whispering) I'm really just worried, when my billionaire best friend is gone for approximately one month I'm sure I'll be prime real estate for bullying… 

Nishikata : how the fuck- nevermind I'm not gonna ask… 

Sumire : ( she wanted to stay with him and keep him safe from the assholes but since her schedule was different than his even she couldn't stay with him at all times…) I mean there is a way for you to stay away from the school while Nishikata and Rie are gone… 

Mogami : ( his eyes light up) what?! 

Sumire : you could get an early internship too… 

Mogami : but then I won't able to do detective work… 

Nishikata : you're a special student scouted by the school itself, you could probably put in detective work as an internship… 

Mogami : ( he almost jumped at this) oh my god, Why didn't I think of that earlier… 

Sumire : ( she smiled seeing his happy face then started thinking…. )( I still haven't decided whether I like him or not… Plus… he'll get married?...) ( even though she had not completely understood her own feelings but she also had no idea about his feelings ….) ( his speech from implies that he doesn't have feelings for anyone…) 

Mogami : so...when are these internships starting?

Nishikata : I think in a few weeks… 

Mogami : I need to go and visit the office.. 

Sumire just stared at her feet while everyone discussed various things in class 

After school 

Sumire : (she was just walking down the road home when she saw something she wouldn't have dreamed of) ( is that… Mogami…) 

Just along the road there was a park where Mogami was sitting on a bench beside someone 

Sumire : ( he squirmed her eyes he thought she was hallucinating) 

But she knew she'd recognise that platinum blonde hair anywhere 

Sumire : ( she didn't know why but before she knew it she was spying on them) 

They seemed to be in a serious conversation with each other, sumire could only peice together a few sentences

Izumi : this is my last offer… 

Mogami : I refuse… 

Izumi : but why? 

Mogami : I do …..  so I'm not about to…. 

Izumi : thrills huh? You are I are quite similar you know that…. 

Mogami : stop that….. Not gonna help you, go to someone else… 

Izumi : only you can…. What if I do this?... 

Sumire watched in horror as the platinum blonde kissed Mogami on the cheek

Sumire : ( she couldn't even comprehend the amount of rage inside her mind) 

Sumire was about of walk out of hiding when he saw Mogami shouting at her, but Izumi didn't even get fazed, she just said " consider it ok?" and left 

After she was gone she went straight to Mogami.

Sumire : hey Mogami ( she was washed with unexpected sadness and rage which she didn't understand) 

Mogami : so I take it you saw everything

Sumire : yeah… I did … 

Mogami : before you assume anything let me tell you what happened… She needed a favour from me…. And she tried to negotiate a deal with me… But I refused, so she kissed me in a last ditch effort… 

Sumire : ( she breathed a sigh of relief but her anger didn't subside…) what was the favour about? 

Mogami : I can't tell you that… ( he looked away) it's a complicated issue… 

Sumire : I see….

They both started to walk home again… 

Sumire : ( she was still a angry and jealous of Izumi) (I don't know what to even think... I need to confirm my feelings somehow…) hey Mogami 

Mogami : yeah? 

Sumire : are you free tomorrow? 

Mogami : I mean… Yeah why? 

Sumire : Maybe can you come with me to the mall and stuff? I was originally going to take Rie for shopping but she has to go with nishikata somewhere (plus spending more time with him should help me confirm my feelings… Hopefully…) 

Mogami : ( he wondered for a second) 

Sumire : you can refuse if you want to… 

Mogami : no… I have time… Better enjoy it than spend most of my day in the library waiting for the day to end… 

Sumire : ( she blushed lightly) I'll text you the time and place ok? 

Mogami : I guess I'll see you tomorrow… ( As she left he thought to himself…)( Izumi Tanaka…. I need to do something about her…)
