It was the summer festival between the first and second year of high school when takagi was hanging out with her friends, Totomi High was in Tokyo and they had returned to their hometown for the holidays 

Sumire : god this first year flew by so quickly… 

Houjou : well the days feel like they take forever but the years just flew by us… God the difficulty just spiked up in High school.. Our freetime is gone so down I'm so happy we have a good vacation 

Takagi : well to me it was a rather slow year… 

Sumire : it's because you didn't have anyone to tease 

Takagi : ( she blushed and chuckled) probably…

Sumire : on the topic where is that dork? 

Houjou : last I heard he was in Kyoto right? 

Takagi : ( she smiled) he called.. said he'd be here in a few days 

Sumire : no wonder she looks so happy these days 

Takagi : how's hamaguchi doing? 

Houjou : basketball… Since he's here because of a sports scholarship he's dedicated his soul to the game, he couldn't even come back for holidays… 

Takagi : aww poor couple…. 

Sumire : ( she looked at both of them) you two….

Sumire : do you really have to flex on your single friends?

Takagi : ( she laughed) hey you're the one who has rejected so many of them don't blame us… 

Sumire : they just lack personality…. Well Amano has personality but since he's like rejected 80%of the girls I'm not even gonna bother with him… 

Takagi : yeah…. Amano-kun… ( that guy… Freshmen representative… Student council… he confessed to me a few months back and I had declined obviously and since then I guess he's rejected everyone huh…) 

Sumire : anyway stop talking about relationships ( why do girls always have to talk about this, its boring), 

Houjou : well… ( she suddenly got a phone call.. She got a blush) I'll be back in a sec 

Sumire : yeah we know take your time… 

Takagi : it's a shame Mano couldn't return for the holidays 

Sumire : we haven't seen her in months.. 

Takagi : ( her phone starts ringing) huh 

Sumire : I know who that is, I'm just leaving ok if you need me I'm at the top if the mountain

Takagi : ( she picked up the phone while blushing) hello yuki? 

Nishikata : hey takagi… sorry I didn't call you for 3 weeks… 

Takagi : I know you were busy right, you don't need to explain

Nishikata : thanks…. 

Takagi : well how are you? 

Nishikata : well for one I'm tired…

Nishikata : yay a win and this one was without shuichi's help

Takagi : ( wait a minute) how'd he know…. 

She heard a voice from behind her 

Nishikata : well the connection on this mountain really sucks.. 

Takagi : ( she turned around swiftly and there he was standing behind her) ( it took her a second to take it in) yuki… 

She immediately ran up to him and hugged him 

Takagi : ( after hugging him for a while) what the heck…. weren't you supposed to come in two days 

Nishikata : I don't know maybe I teleported 

Takagi : I don't care, you're finally here!! 

Nishikata : I wanted to suprise you… and also win a game so.. What do say lets get some food? 

Takagi : ( she latched onto his arm) i dont see a reason why not 

Nishikata : let's get going then 

In the distance 

Houjou : where is takagi she just disappeared? 

Sumire : ( well she was talking to the dork and she mentioned she was hungry.. So maybe at the foot stalls) (she got to the observation platform to search better and saw them) (oh? So that's how it is) hey houjou look here 

Houjou : what? ( she looked down)~ so that's where she disappeared to~

Sumire : let's just hang around the games area for a bit longer to give them some privacy 

Houjou : agreed 

Back to both of them 

Takagi : ( she was eating a takoyaki) delicious…. 

Nishikata : ( he munched on a peice and looked at her) well you haven't grown since middle school 

Takagi : ( she made a face) that's a rude thing to say to a girl 

Nishikata : I was talking about height takagi!! 

Takagi : you are calmer but you still freak out meaning it's still possible to tease you… Well I'm doing it less so I guess it's ok… 

Nishikata : no but really you grown like what 2 inches since middle school 

Takagi : In comparison you're finally taller than me 

Nishikata : yeah….. Yeah…… 

Takagi : you alright? 

Nishikata : well…. I havent slept properly in 2 days… ( not being able to sleep is better than only getting 2 hours of sleep everyday) 

Takagi : ( it wasn't visible earlier due to the lights but when she focused he could his eyes were tired) you should've taken some rest 

Nishikata : but then how would I suprise you?

Takagi : but still that isn't a good enough reason to overwork yourself what if you collapse 

Nishikata : well let me just say this only one thing has kept me sane during this time….

Takagi : what 

Nishikata : ( he opened his phone and while smiling showed her a video) it's a video about a girl singing a boy a song while jumping on one foot and wearing her clothes inside out 

Takagi : ( she looked at him in disbelief) why do you still have that.. 

Nishikata : I told you I'm going to hang that over your head for the rest of your life

Takagi : can you please delete it 

Nishikata : No

Takagi : please? 

Nishikata : still no

Takagi : (kissed him on the cheek) what about now

Nishikata : ( shakey voice) still no 

Takagi :(let's just change the subject) ( she had an idea she bought some more takoyaki and 2 candied apples) let's go to the top of the shrine 

Nishikata : why there 

Takagi : it's quieter up there… We won't have to worry about being in public 

Nishikata : I guess… 

They began walking up the stairs

Nishikata : we're here, wow there really isn't anyone here 

Takagi : because everyone in the the festival down there… We Are alone here 

Nishikata : Hmmm…. 

Takagi : there should be a bench behind the shrine let's go there

Nishikata : whatever you say… 

Takagi : so how's everyone else? 

Nishikata : well for one…. I'm gonna be an uncle…. 

Takagi : wait really? 

Nishikata : well suika is 5 months in…. You should have seen the look on his face when she Told him… shuichi's the happiest I've seen him and also nervous as heck

Nishikata : for one… he isn't really confident in his parenting skills, and also being he is finally seriously quitting the smoking and drinking for the baby…. 

Takagi : ( apparently dad did the same when I was born) good for both of them,( she smirked) now the little baby's uncle doesn't have an excuse to drink 

Nishikata : well I'll admit it you're a bit too late.. 

Takagi : ( she pulled his ears) how much? 

Nishikata : well one glass… I didn't really like it that much… unless offered by someone else I won't drink… 

Takagi : well I guess it's ok…. I'll still punish you though, but why'd you tell me? 

Nishikata : because shuichi is using this to blackmail me, but now he has no dirt on me…

Takagi : makes sense..... I can't wait to be an aunt.. 

They both finished the takoyaki and candied apples 

Nishikata : ( I think i a little too much… So sleepy…) 

Takagi : ( she saw him being sleepy) ( she firmly pulled him closer and after the few seconds his head was in her lap) 

Nishikata : ( it took him a moment to come back to his senses) ( god we haven't had any physical interaction in a year Im so scared of even a peck on the cheek) … 

Takagi : ( his head was on his lap and he looked straight up, at her while struggling to maintain composure) you can sleep here if you want 

Nishikata : huh?

Takagi : you're tired right? I brought you here to get you some rest 

Nishikata : oh is that so...well I cant really relax or sleep when I'm this nervous… 

Takagi : well we haven't had any physical interaction in a year… So I see why you'd be nervous… 

Nishikata : ( he just gritted his teeth trying to calm down) 

Takagi : ( she bent forward and give him a kiss on the cheek ) does that help?

Nishikata : ( blushing intensely) no it didn't… 

Takagi : oh? ( after a direct gentle kiss from her) what about now 

Nishikata : …. ( I mean… She started it… I might as well….) ( he pulled her face down with both of her hands) 

Takagi : I know how to pull your strings don't I… 

Nishikata :...... yes you do…. 

After and intense make out sessions which lasted around 20 minutes 

Takagi : we should have bought some ice cream

Nishikata : ( he just blushed intensely) do you have to remember that..

Takagi : I'm never in a million years forgetting that... ( stroking through his hair) I just realized… 

Nishikata : what? 

Takagi : I totally ditched my friends… 

Nishikata : let's worry about explanations later… ( still on her lap he turned around and burried his face in her stomach) just wake me up when it's time for the fireworks… 

Takagi : sure we missed them last time didn't we… 

Nishikata was already snoring away

Takagi : it's hard to believe he is finally here… ( when he started he would talk to me almost every other day then it got less and less until it was one call every 2 weeks…. And I am not mad at him about I'm really just worried… I know he's overworking himself) 

she looked over at his hand and saw it… The watch she had gifted him well over a year ago… It Looked well worn almost like he wore it every single day

Takagi : ( so he wore it everyday..) ( she smiled and blushed) 

Eventually the announcement for fireworks came and he woke him up 

Takagi : hey you.. You're finally awake 

Nishikata : ( hazily) is this really the time for a skyrim reference?

Takagi : I mean… Why not? ( she pulled him up) it's time for the fireworks 

Nishikata : ( tried to get up and their forehead hit each other again as she was bent over to wake him up) OW!!! Is your head made of rocks or something? 

Takagi : hey your head is harder than mine since it's denser!!! God it hurts ( well universe I gotta say what a way to ruin the moment) 

Nishikata : ( he rubbed his forehead and got up) I'm not dens- ( the huge bang of the first fireworks) 

Takagi : ( they stopped their argument for a sec) ( well this is a part of the plan so I need to carry it out) 

Nishikata : ( he was looking up at the sky) 

Takagi : ( she took his hand and looked up) it looks so beautiful… 

Nishikata : yeah… 

Takagi : ( she placed her arms behind his neck and pulled him closer until their forehead were pressed against each other) ( she chuckled) it still hurts 

Nishikata : tell me about it 

Takagi : you know I didn't think we'd get this close but you still wouldn't be able to use my first name 

Nishikata : it just doesn't feel right… I Mean I've tried to but they words just get stuck in my mouth… 

Takagi : it's a shame… As The punishment for drinking you have to promise me one thing 

Nishikata : I won't delete the video 

Takagi : wait no that's not what I… Wait that's not a bad idea 

Nishikata : too bad I'm not doing it, I'm never ever deleting that video

Takagi : promise me 

Nishikata : what? 

Takagi : I said promise me.. 

Nishikata : ok I promise you… ( good thing I have multiple backups of that video) 

Takagi : promise me that when you propose to me you'll use my first name… 

Nishikata : ( blushing heavily) don't you think you are going a bit too fast?! 

Takagi : what if I am? 

Nishikata : well I uh… 

Takagi : can you promise that? 

Nishikata : ( he took a deep breath) I promise I'll use your first name when I propose, by the way did you plan this? 

Takagi : this promise just flew into my mind a few seconds ago 

Nishikata : well it was rather well executed… it feels good to be back
