"Well?" Cashmere spoke again, breaking off the awkward silence that surrounded the room.

"We'll leave you two alone." I murmured, patting Diamond's shoulder for luck.

I gestured for Savannah to leave with me as I glanced at Cashmere, confusion written all over his angelic face.

"You know girl, I'm really sorry for not being there for you without knowing the full story." Savannah threw me a sympathetic look as she laid her burger down. "That was just really shady for me to just stop talking to you like that."

"It's okay, I mean that Amphitrite Whore thing was literally in freshman year, time helps us get over things." I bit out of my burger as I started to worry about Diamond and how she hasn't called or texted me in the past 3 hours.

"Did Mase ever try to talk to you after all these years?" Savannah queried, eating her burger as if it was the first burger she'd ever had.

"Nope. Not even a single hello or how are you." I sang, trying to imitate Adele's voice as I cackled. "I actually barely even remember how he looks now. It's been such a long time!"

"Damn he rude." Savannah laughed quietly. "But you never found out who started those rumors about you?"

"Never. But no joke Savannah, if one day, I find out who ruined my freshman year and sophomore year, I swear, all hell will break loose." I replied dryly.

"Why the hell are you telling everyone we're sleeping together?" Mase growled at me, catching me by surprise.

"What? What are you talking about?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"Arielle don't lie. The whole football team is talking shit because the whole school thinks I slept with you. Look, you're my best friend and I wouldn't care if people are saying we're sleeping together, but not when people are saying you have some disease or something and now they think I have it too." The words that came out of Mase's mouth immediately told my instincts to swing my hand at him.

"How dare you?" I took a pause, quickly wiping off a tear drop that was followed with more tears. "Disease huh? Is this fucking 6th grade? Mase we've known each other since we were small, you cannot possibly think I would have the right mind to go telling people that we slept with each other."

"Arielle listen. I have a reputation, I don't know if you know what that means, but it's very important that no stupid shit like this gets spread around. I don't know if you're telling the truth or a lie, but I think it's safe to say that we should stop talking." He pursed his lips, his eyes not even trying to look at me.

I didn't know how to reply back, so instead I just stood their with my head down with my fists clenched in complete anger. I just silently walked away from him, trying to cover up the gallons of pathetic tears running down my face.

14 years of friendship just thrown down the drain like nothing.

I walked the halls the next day, catching looks of distaste and strong hatred. All I want to do right now is go to swimming practice and forget about all of this.

It all started with Mase joining the football team, causing him to gain popularity for his looks and for his stupid skills in football. Then I guess, some desperate girls that wanted Mase inside of them saw me getting a ride from him and then started up a fake rumor about us sleeping together and me having STD's or something. Then more rumors came up like, me aborting a child, me forcing Mase into smoking, me being adopted, and the most funniest one, having a secret relationship with one of the male teachers.

Then that's when I was given a beautiful nickname that I'm truly thankful for receiving.

A nickname not everyone can receive easily.

A nickname that didn't ever drive me to wanting to kill myself and me wanting to shoot up the whole school, causing the blood of these satanic highschool kids to spill among these dreaded halls.

A nickname that will always be remembered in my brain for more years to come.

The Amphitrite Whore.

"Arielle is you there?" Savannah exclaimed, snapping her finger in front of my face. "I finished my burger, hurry up and finish yours, we need to check on Diamond."

"Oh yea." I coughed, looking down at the 10 missed text messages from Diamond.

"It's done." Diamond muttered, looking at the floor like a zombie.

"Are you serious?" My eyes widened, thinking over the fact that they were clearly a match made in heaven, and now all of that is simply just swept away like nothing.

"It was clearly my fault." Diamond continued, trying her best to force out a smile. "It wasn't the first time anyway. He cheated once too. We've been trying to keep the flame going and rising, and we did, for two years. And slowly, it became smaller and smaller, and then it just had to be extinguished. Now, we're just left with the ashes." By the time Diamond ended her sentence, tears rapidly started falling down her face, making me wanna try and comfort her with a hug.

Savannah joined in the hug too, both of us hearing Diamond loudly weep in front of us, causing other people to throw us some glances.

Savannah and I bombarded her with sympathy and started talking about how it was gonna be okay and how everything was gonna get better, but it only made her crying louder.

Diamond was visibly breaking down in front of us and their was nothing we could do to make her feel better which made me feel like a horrible friend.

Savannah guided Diamond back to the car as my hands kept patting her back to calm her crying.

Without paying any attention to what was in front of me, I then suddenly felt myself bump into someone else's body, quickly causing my eyes to shoot up to see whom I bumped into.

"Levi?" I blurted out.
