It was a cool, cloudy morning. The sun had just barely peaked over the clouds, keeping all of its warmth to itself for the day. The sky itself was a dark shade of blue, purple, and orange as birds flew carelessly from tree to tree.

"Too early..."

I lay still in bed, staring blankly at a wall. My sleepless (e/c) eyes effortlessly wander over to the small bag besides my bed. I make the slightest effort to reach my hand inside and blindly search its contents. Finding what I was looking for, I pull it out and place it over my head.

I press the power button and wait for it to turn on, but nothing happened. I hold it down this time and it begins to glow.

I snorted softly in victory before squinting my eyes and frowning. On the screen, it displayed an empty battery before going dark once again.

Stretching with the phone in my hand, I roll off the bed and catch myself from hitting the floor as hard as I was about to.

Placing the phone on the floor, I searched my phone for a charger. Ten minutes had past and I had found nothing. It wasn't even in the room.

I growled at the sudden realization that I only had my phone and nothing else. What good is a phone if its dead?

Glancing back at the window, I sighs and decided to get ready for school.

After doing my daily routine, I go to the kitchen to start making breakfast. As I had entered, although, I saw that Kushina had already beat me to it.

It didn't take me long for my memory to refresh itself upon yesterday's occurrence. Upon Kakashi finding out we were neighbors, we also found out that my temporary guardians were none other than Kushina, and Minato themselves. It was that same day that, after seeing just how terrifying Kushina could be when she's angry, that I vowed to never anger her as I did that night.

Thank god Minato was there to calm her.

"Good morning, Kushina. Need help?"

Understanding my intentions, she smiled at me while waving a spatula happily in her hand. "Of course! Can I trust you in making the eggs?

"Mm!"

Washing my hands and tying my hair back, I got the eggs from out of the fridge and got to work. I could feel a pair of eyes on me the whole time I worked, but I paid it no mind. Adding the last bit of seasoning as I fried and scrambled the eggs, I turn the stove off.

"That's an interesting way to make eggs..." Kushina comments, finding my ingredients weird.

"Its really good. Promise. " I assure her. She puts down her wooden ladle and walks over to me, picking up one if the clumps of eggs and pops it in her mouth.

Once it hits her tongue, her mouth waters a bit, and she closes it. Chewing and swallowing, she smiles in delight, a small blush spreading to her cheeks. "(Y/n)! This is amazing, ya know!" She gushes as she reaches for another one.

I pick up the bowl and move it out of her reach. "You g-gotta save some for Minato-san, a-and I too..." I pout.

She scratches the nape of her neck sheepishly before smiling. "I'm sorry, its just so good, ya know?" She grins at me, making me giggle.

"Thanks..."

She smelling something sizzling, she turns back to her own dish and let's out a short cry of shock. In an instant, she turns off the stove and sighs.

"That was a close one." She says as she checks her rice. It was ever so slightly charred at the bottom, but it wouldn't effect the flavor.

Checking on the other dishes, she turned off all the appliances and smiled.

"Alright, breakfast is ready. Do you mind waking up Minato-dear?"

"No..." I smile before hurrying off to Minato's room.

Minutes later, I return with the sleeping blond and we all gather at the table.

Together we ate in silence, myself sneaking bites when no one was looking.

"Minato, try the eggs!" Kushina cheers.

He shrugs and picks up his chopsticks, he picks up a piece and lifts it to his mouth.

Taking in the piece, he smiles as the sudden burst of flavor enters his mouth. "This tastes really good. Trying out new cooking techniques?"

"Nope. (Y/n) made it."

Minato looked at me in surprise. "Your really good." He smiles as he takes another bite.

"Thank you very much..." I lightly gush.

I made my way out the house to see Kakashi walking by.

"Good morning, Hatake-san." I greet, suddenly feeling shy.

He glances sideways at me, acknowledging my presence, but says nothing.

I look down to my feet and keep walking. As I walked, I glanced back at Kakashi to see that he was still walking on the other side of the road. Suddenly, he makes a turn behind one of the shops.

'Odd, isn't the academy the other way?' I thought to myself. 'Then again, I could be wrong. I've only actually been there once and I'm going off of gaming memory...

Starting to doubt myself, I make the same turn. I could now see him still walking off in the distance so I speed walk to catch up with him. He makes another sharp turn, making me follow as well. Suddenly, he disappears. I slow my pace but keep walking.

Hearing a rather peculiar sound, I stop and turn around.

"Why are you following me?"

I blink and look at the silveret in confusement.

"A-aren't you g-going to the academy?"

"No. It's that way." Pointing to oir earlier route. "And it's closed right now."

I let out a silent "o" as I had realized it. "W-wait! Then where a-re you g-going?"

"That's none of your business." He remarks before walking away, leaving me dumbfounded.

Watching him walk away, I turn around and try to retrace my steps. Guess I'll go back and reattempt the shadow clone technique...

A couple of hours later...

I was starting to run out of energy, but I didn't care. I was slowly starting to get closer to being able to use it.

But, I knew that if I wanted to continue, I'd have to stop and rest.

That being said, I walked over to where my packed lunch was and opened it. As I reached for my mask, I had this weird feeling that I was being watched. I lower my hand to grab my chopsticks, acting natural, when I heard a soft crunch of bark. Discreetly glancing over there, I spot a flash of silver stand out against the brown and green trees.

I sigh in relief before putting down the chopsticks and turning to his new hiding spot.

"Need something?!" I call out.

There was no reply and everything stayed quiet. I watch the spot carefully, awaiting movement before speaking again.

"I k-know your t-there!"

Surely enough, Kakashi came out from behind the tree beside the tree I was staring at.

"D-did you come h-here to train t-too? Am I in y-your way?"

"Something like that, and no. I was just leaving."

"But you j-just came here, no?"

"... What are you doing anyways?"

"Practicing. Oh! While your here, d-do you wanna t-train with me?"

He stared at me with a blank face, making me wonder if I had said the sentence wrong. I hope I didn't say something stupid, that'd be embarrassing...

"...Whatever. What do you wanna practice?"

His eyes were distant and cold, so of course I'm surprised even excepted my offer. Seeing his previous reactions to me and all... Oh well. Might as well get something out of this miracle.

"I wanted to try out that thing sensei was talking about..." I speak, carefully wording my sentence. "The one with chakra nature..."

"Anything specific?" His voice was slack but his tone gave me the chills. He sounds angry; did I make him angry? Is it because of this morning?

My cheeks started to hurt and my heart was thumping with great pace within my small chest. Something about the thought of being on his bad side just gives me the chills."Ah! I-I wanna s-see what my nature is." Suddenly, I felt a bit flustered.

"Ok..." He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. Walking over and handing it to me, he looks at me expectantly.

I take it from him, already having a vague idea of what to do. I focus my energy into my fingertips that grasped the paper and slowly ease it into the paper.

The paper began to crumble, making him nod his head in approval. At this, my cheeks began to hurt a bit as my heart rate sped up. I don't understand why im getting to so flustered, I was fine being around everyone yesterday. Maybe it was because I didn't care then and thought of it as nothing but a dream... All my racing thoughts stopped once I caught his eyes. They were... shocked?

I followed his gaze over to my hand to see that the once crumbled paper was now soggy and dripping wet. Was it always like that? I thought it was wrinkled before.

Having composed himself, Kakashi crossed his arms. "Looks like you got water and lightning."

"Yeah..."

"Alright. Now that we know that, let's start with the basics." He sighs before looking me dead in the eyes. "Do you know how to properly form your element?"

I stopped to think for a moment before shaking my head "no."

"Thought as much..." He shifts his right hand onto his right hip, relaxing his left arm and casually walks over to me. "Alright, let's start with that then. Chakra is th-"

"I-I'm aware. Can w-we skip that p-part?"

He looks at me in irritation, most likely not liking the fact that I had cut him off like that; or in general even. "Fine. Focus your chakra to your hands and try to form lightning."

"Yes sir!" With determination, I open both my hands and bring them close to each other. Remembering that feeling from yesterday when trying to attempt the shadow clone technique, I drew out my energy from my core and tried to channel it to my hands. Feeling it spread and tingle from my stomach and around I began to smile a bit.

His gaze burned into my head like fire, making me forget my achievement and suddenly feel nervous. Losing control of it, the feeling suddenly plummets to my feet, sending a shock of lighting to the ground.

Upon the lightning reaching Kakashi's feet, he canceled it out with his own. "Ok. Close enough. Try making it come from your hands now." Despite his voice laced with nothing but sarcasm, it was easy to see that he truly meant the words he spoke. At the same time, even though I know he means no harm, that annoyed glare of his is not helping my mental state whatsoever.

"Y-y-yes, Kakashi-sensei!"

"Huh?" He voices, obviously taken back.

"S-sorry! I'll g-get back to w-work!"

'Alright, focus! I'can't mess up now!" I think to myself as I refocus my energy. This time, I successfully manage to bring it to my hands and a spark of lightning sprouted to my finger tips. I smile in delight at my success, mentally cheering.

"Good. Remember that feeling."

"Right."

"Now, let's try to incorporate it into battle."

"Eh?"

I watched as he lowered himself into a battle stance, egging me on to make the first move. 'He's kidding... right?'

A moment of me just staring at him blankly later, he gives me an agitated glare. "If you won't start, I will."

In a flash, he's gone and I feel a presence besides me. As if on instinct, my hands flew up to block it. A cold shiver going through the bones of my arms as the sudden pain envelops the spot of which he had hit.

He pulls back for his next attack and I block. It literally just kept repeating this process until he sped up. "Come on an fight back! Try using what you learned!"

I would like to respond, but it's taking all of my energy not to receive any critical damage. Even if I was to attack back, it'd be ineffective. The only thing I'm really good at is dodging. The only thing keeping me on my feet, might I add.

Giving into his demands, though, I try to focus my chakra to my arms. When he went to hit me again, I dodged and grabbed his leg. He pulled his leg back, mid air, making my hand go back with him, but he fell back and back-flipped away. For that moment, I could see a pulse of electricity jolt from his leg from where I had previously grabbed.

Getting over both the mental and physical shock, he springs back into action. "That's more like it."

(One beating--TRAINING-- later)

3rd P.O.V

The silver haired boy knocks on the door holding the young girl within his arms. After a couple of hours of non-stop training and her repetitively collapsing from exhaustion, he decided it was about time to take her home. The boy himself had a few burns here and there but remained in far better shape then the battered and bruised girl.

The door opens up to reveal a blond haired man by the name of Minato. He gazes upon the two in mild bewilderment and curiosity. "What happened here?" He asks, motioning to the unconscious female within Kakashi's arms.

The boy shakes his head with a sigh before replying with a "We were training."

Minato nods his head, putting two and two together before opening up the door wider for him to come inside. "You can rest her on the couch." He says, to which the silverette does.

Having done what he intended, Kakashi walks back to the door and gives a half wave before leaving. Minato shakes his head while smiling. "That boy..."

He looks over to the sleeping girl on his couch and walks over to her. Gazing upon her face, he could see that she was to wake up at any given time. Instead of bothering her though, he writes her a note and places some earlier cooked food next to it.

'She'll be hungry when she wakes up.' He thinks to himself as he walks off to rejoin his beloved in bed.

Soon enough though, the girl does wake up and see the note; and of course, scarfs down the food that laid next to it. Getting up, ignoring her body's much pleading cries to do other wise, she prepares herself for bed and goes off to her own room. As she settles herself into her the comfort of her own bed, she finds a rectangular figure under her pillow. Clutching it and pulling it in front of her face, she sees that it is her much dead phone.

'Guess you're still the same, huh?' She thinks bitterly to herself as she readies herself to throw it to the floor. Although, she stops when a sudden realization came to her head. 'Wait a second...'

She lifts her index finger to the charger export and inserts what little replenished energy that she has to the tips of her fingers. Sparks of lightning began to spark from her fingertips to the charger export, lighting up the screen momentarily. Seconds later, the battery appears again, showing off as full as her lock screen follows up.

A weak smile graces her face as her idea works, her eye lids finally giving into the heavy weight casted upon them. Just like that, she was out like a light.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little chapter from me to you as a new year's gift. A story explaining how your phone has lasted as long as it did in this world without chargers-- or great phone reception. It's not like I forgot to add it, I just didn't know how. Especially trying to explain how your phone literally loses reception in certain parts of the village and you have to rely on the little data you have. So... yeah.
But also, I'm trying to work in Kakashi's thoughts and opinions more realistically, so watch out for those in future updates!
See ya next chapter.
