Song of the Day: Mr. Know It All byyyy Kelly Clarkson. Not such a fan of country music, but hey, this one's good! So check it out, peeps. :) ------------------------------------------------------>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I had my back against a shelf of our school library. It was pretty quiet outside, but in my head, I was crazy with thoughts of who goes to who's house. I didn't want to do either, but me and Shadowfax's assignment was still unfinished and it would remain unfinish and a bold 'D'--possibly--would be printed on it if we didn't do something about it.

"So somebody just kill me," I murmured, helplessly.

It was bad enough to have to seat next to him the whole year, but to let him near my house is another thing! You may think I'm judging the guy to quickly, but I've see him get in fights that led him to almost get his opponent to near death or severe damage, that led him to get jailed a lot of times. It's surprising that they haven't kicked him out of school yet.

Oh and it was not just him getting in trouble it was the rest of his gang who always had his back or had their own problems. So in total there were four, their names are Jonathan, Aiden, and Ash--short for Asher. These guys really were tough, especially Ash, that guy really beat up people very bad.

Now do you see why I want to avoid him and his friends.

The bell suddenly rang, making me jump. I looked dumfoundly around me, my eyes straining for the clock. Oh;

I had spotted it.

And it was time for lunch for us juniors.

"Yea!" I faked out loud. Could this day get any worse?! I hope seeing my friends cheers me up like they always do. Sadly, I was proved wrong when I bumped into someone unexpectedly later at lunch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I headed toward the school's cafeteria to get some food to eat because I was starving. I needed some food now! I grabbed a tray and scanned my choices: Pizza, grapes, yogurt, etc. I decided a slice of pizza, a brownie, and apple juice; my favorites!
I paid for my food and headed toward our table which was close to the middle of the lunchroom two tables down. I could see my friends were already there seated on our table.
Seth spotted me and patted the seat right next to him. Suddenly feeling wanted and happy, I joined him. This maybe be fun.
"Soo, how was seating next to the badass of this school? Was it hell or just fiine?" said Seth. I sighed.
"Oh, hey, how you've been and thanks for reminding me, my supposed friend!" I exclaimed out loud.
Seth grinned at me and slapped his thighs with his hands. "Hey, I just want to know if your okay with that and sorry for torturing you with that question, doll." Ughh I hated it when he called me "doll"! I am not a doll nor do I have a porcelain face.
Jodie and Ruby in the background were studying us with amused expressions, but it was mostly because of me. Jodie the turned her attention to me, addressing me with a question.
"No, but seriously Arielle how do you think of him and that you have to seat next to him the whole year? Also we've never talked to him so fill us in if you want of course." She smiled at me.
I ate a piece of my pizza and opened up to them, saying everything that I thought of him in the library and I described him as cocky, determined, awing, smooth bastard. Ironically, I thought he was going to be a pain in my ass or just plain mean. I mean he kinda was, but he treated me with respect....
I breathed out, finished.
Ruby cocked her head to the side and raised her eyebrow, her expression saying 'what an odd-ball, guys are so weird.' She always did that to Seth and her brother Ruben--the odd-ball part, I mean-- and then there are other times where she'd storm into my house, throw her purse down, and say men are all the same. Psshh.
Ruby sighed, leaned back on her chair, and stretched her arms over her head, like a cat stretching from a lazy nap.
"Let's just hope for the best of this and not be over dramatic about this because who knows what will happen anyway, we really don't know this guy so who are we to judge even though last year he almost killed a guy and got arrested for that," Ruby said.
We all nodded. I wanted to avoid this subject and concentrate on the brighter side of things like my friends.
Ruby suddenly sat up from her lazy position of her chair and slapped her hands on the table, making us jump in surprise.
"Man, do you not know, how much I loooooveee Marlon Teixeira!" Ruby exclaimed, giving us pointed looks.
This was so unexpected that we started cracking up hysterically with tears on our eyes. Plus, you had to give her props on her act and she a had a funny expression on her face.
My laughter was caught short when someone tapped on my shoulder and I turned around, to meet Shadowfax's electric blue eyes. Ohhhh.
"Shadowfax?" I asked, my brow furrowing a bit. My friends strained their necks around him; their eyes widening a bit. I took a quick, small peak, but I only came up with two blurry figures leaning against the far wall, arms crossed, eyes focused over here.
"Can we talk?" Shadowfax asked. He glanced behind me briefly. "Alone," he added.
I sat there dumbfounded for a few, long seconds, and then I received a kick--I shot her a glare--from Ruby, who arched her eyebrows at Shadowfax in a Well, what are you waiting for? Go on.
I sighed, my God. I flashed Shadowfax a smile--which looked like he didn't believe one sec--and stood up. He watched me as I slid next to him and started to walk out the school cafeteria.
The door flapped behind us.
As we turned to a curb of a hallway, I started to say something,"So, what do you want?"
"It's about the project," he said simply, catching my eye before breaking it. He fiddled with one of his chains absentmindly.
The lightbulb popped in atop my head, but I wasn't so sure if I wanted to go near there...
"Oh," I said. "About?"
"Well," he said. "I'm not so sure if I'm game to go to any strange girl's house--"
I smacked him in the arm.
He chuckled, poking me in the arm in return. "But since, well, I don't want a damn, long talk from Mrs. Evers after school; I'm game to finish this thing as possible."
"Oh!" I exclaimed, stopping to catch his arm. "So, you want to meet somewhere then?"
"Painly, yes," he responded, stopping to face me.
I narrowed my eyes at him as I crossed my arms. "Is painly even a word?"
He laughed, his face looking very soft. I wanted to cut the hand that dared wanting to touch his cheek. Grr.
"Well, no," he thought for a second, his lips pursing slightly. "But it's my word so stop hating."
I made a sound between a squeak and an outraged cry. "I am not hating!" This ludricous man!
He lifted his hands in defense, shrugging his shoulders in a nonchalant way. "Whatever you say, princess."
"Shadow, I am going to step on your toe right now," I whispered threateningly. I moved in slow motion as I stepped closer to step on his soon to be, poor toe...
He laughed, catching my elbow and softly pushing me to the side. "Oh, I was so scared, Arielle." He shook his head in a wondering way.
"That's good!" I applauded at his feigned fear.
He laughed, his voice flowing toward me and wrapping around me like soft velvet. It was nice and I let the smile I'd be suppressing bloom on my lips.
"You're something, Arielle," he complimented me, giving me a kind look. "I didn't expect a conversation from you to be like this."
"Because you're a meanie and you judge to quickly," I said, to help him, beaming.
He laughed, his forehead creasing. "Hmm, possibly, but it's just one word, Arielle: trust."
"I'm a trust worthy person," I said.
"Maybe so, but it's more than that, Arielle." He paused for a moment before he caught my chin with his finger. "You have a kind face though." He tilted my head from side to side.
I smacked it away.
"Or maybe not." He grinned.
I stuck my tongue at him. Then I paused. "I'll admit Shadow, you may actually be nice."
"Be careful with those words, Arielle. Maybe I'm letting you in too close, or you're just dumb."
I smacked him again. He caught it, a faint smile on his lips, before slowly letting my wrist go.
"Sooo, meanie, since this conversation is leading to nowhere, Secretive Dude, where do you wanna meet?" I asked, tucking my hair over my ears, feeling pink and warm and very soft.
It was a feeling I've never felt settle on me.
"In a bar," he responded. I raised my hand threateningly.
"Ha, ha," he said. "Okay, well, no." He rethought about that. "Nah, I would do a bar, maybe pool--" He caught sight of my face. "Goddamitt, Arielle. Your house, I guess." He ran a hand through his spiked up hair. I stared at it, feeling a need to see if was soft. Was it soft? Or actually spiky? What did he use to keep it that way? It looks very nice--
"Why my house?" I asked.
"I like my privacy," he said simply, keeping a low profile now, but laughing marks still crinkled in his eyes and mouth. It was cute though.
"I don't invite strangers in," I said, crossing my arms.
"Yes, well, in this case, I'm not a stranger; I'm an easy-going classmate--
"--who I don't trust--"
"--not yet," he finished.
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him. He raised an eyebrow in return.
I sighed. Okay, I did not want to fight for this till the crack of sunset so I'm just going to agree this.... and maybe have inner turmoil later....
"Oh, alright," I eventually said. Shadow smirked.
"I'll see you later then, little Mermaid," he tipped his invisible hat at me and turned on his heel to walk away.
"Wait!" I caught his arm and this time I almost jumped at the muscles that bulged out from that arm. He eyed me mischevously. "What time? And you don't even know where I live!"
He smirked. "Sure I don't."
I double-checked that my mouth hadn't dropped to the floor. Okay, no.
"And at six, maybe more earlier..." He shrugged. "I'll decide when."
This time he walked away from me. Before he disappeared on the other end of the hallway, he turned once more to give me a lingering look before vanishing on the other side. His chains clanking low.
I stared at him.
Then I remembered something.
"And I'm not little okay!" I yelled out behind him.
His low laughter flowed toward me...
