Song of the Day: When I Get Home, Your So Dead by Mayday Parade (Old Version) :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Guys, this is like the party of the year! We have to go!," Ruby squealed in ecstasy.
I rolled my eyes and said,"Ruby, you think every party is the "party of the year"! It will only be the "party of the year" if we were invited to the Oscars! And girl that ship has sailed."
Seth smirked and Jodie sided with me by saying,"Yeah and Ruby it's only a Halloween party which would probably include over-exaggerated costumes, drinking, and make-out sessions! Which ain't worth it."
Ruby waved her off and defendently put out,"But guys this isn't any party, this is the party! Halloween is like the most anticipated party of the year because of the candy and going in costumes! Also, it's when Paranormal Activity 2 will be released in theaters!"
"Yeah, what's your point?" said Seth.
Ruby scoffed and said,"It's everything! Halloween is like a cherrybomb!"
We raised our eyebrows and said in unision,"A cherrybomb? Like, really dude."
After that I decided to tune out since it was just ridiculous and it was only a Halloween party at that which would probably include the stuff Jodie just listed. I would willingly go if it was a Masquerade ball. It isn't though.
I sighed and shifted my bag to my hip. Suddenly, I felt eyes on me. I looked up and met the beautiful eyes of Shadow's. I will never get used to their intensity, I thought.
Shadow was half-hidden behind a locker. His locker, I guess. I could see half his face and it was focused intensly on me. I waved at him and a faint smile crossed his lips. He waved back, closed his locker, and walked away. I struggled with our little exchange since I really didn't know what that meant.
A blush creeped my cheeks as I remembered our intense day a week ago and ever since our almost kiss we haven't spoken to each other since.
Another sigh escaped my lips and as I turned around I bumped straight into my grinning friends. Well, Jodie and Ruby were grinning, and Seth was just standing there looking clueless than ever.
I innocently raised my eyebrows while they waggled theirs. Seth raised his hands like he was surrendering and in exaustion said,"Okay, what the hell! Why are you guys staring at her like that?"
"It looks like Arielle has an eye on someone! So, what's up with that, Arielle," said a snooping Ruby.
I frowned and said,"C'mon Ruby, like if I waved at Brandon Gomez over there-" I pointed at my left to a slim, shaggy brown-haired guy. "you guys would think something was up. And so nothing is going between me and Shadow. I just waved at him that's it. As in  two friends just having a friendly exchange."
"Yeah, but you guys have been hanging out quite a lot lately like last week your gone the whole day and your bag ends up in my locker? That says a lot you know," pointed out Jodie.
"So? Isn't it normal to ditch school now and then? And it's not like I slept over his house. We just hung out and he really isn't the guy everyone thinks he is you know."
"How do we know that and it seems kinda weird that Shadow would hung out with someone outside his gang. Aren't they always together and very secretive?"
"Like I said he's different and you guys shouldn't be be judging him since you don't know him like I do," I said defensively.
"Maybe because he's only interested in you not us. And were not trying to seperate you guys were only curious since it's okay if you have a little crush on him," said Ruby.
"Woah, woah, woah wait a sec! A crush on the guy? Were talking of Shadowfax Skywood who is- Ow!," said Seth. Ruby jabbed him again on the stomach with her elbow.
"Can we just go now and forget about this?," I said.
"Yeah, we'll talk about this later since there is a little disturbance here....,"said Ruby who sneaked a peak at Seth. Seth snorted and started mumbling unintelligibly as he shuffled away.
We laughed and started following him.
 "Well, History was..interesting," Ruby put out, but I catched her wrinkling her nose. She's never be a fan of History like I was.
We have just gotten out of History with a Map project under our arms. Drawing every detail of Australia and then labeling everything won't be easy.
I sighed and wrapped my sweater around my waist.
"So, um are you like planning to go to the Halloween party this Sunday?" I asked.
Ruby cattlily smiled at me and replied casually,"Me? You mean we, my dear Arielle. What I mean is wouldn't it be fun for us to go to the Halloween party and it's here so there won't be phsycho killer out there, but if it turns out to be Michael Myers then let's hope for the best..."
I frowned and said," Facing Myers would be better. And I really don't know 'cause I'm still worn out and my leg is still kinda sour."
She raised an eyebrow. "Uh not really. You would rather lose your life then go to a Halloween party? Eh, anyway what you think? Wouldn't it be fun, Arielle."
"More like living hell if you ask me, but I'll think about it and tell you at the end of the day. How's that?" I murmured.
She smiled. "Deal. Oh shoot! I'll see you later I'm late for class. Byeee!" And with that she made a dramatic swoop of her arm and there went Her Majesty.
I giggled and went the other way. As I rounded a corner a slim figure caught my eye. I stopped on my tracks and narrowed my eyes, straining them as I observed the person. This may look weird, but there was something in the guy that seemed familiar to me, but mostly it was the way he was standing like he'd rather get jailed than be here.
I gasped. Did I know that blonde highlighted hair with those handmade bracelets hanging from his wrists? Alos, that beanie with strands of blonde hair coming out of them on every side. And those same Nike dunks. And that lazy, slouched position.
"Matt?" I breathed out. My heart was pounding in my ears as I spoke out his name. I clenched my hands into fists.
The figure tensed up and slowly turned around to meet my shocked gaze with his narrowed gray-blue eyes.
His eyes widened slightly and he said hesitantly,"Arielle? Am I being punked here?"
I laughed breathlessly. I recognized that voice anywhere. "Um no your not. I would ask the same thing, but more like let them slap me."
He frowned. "Is seeing me that bad? That hurts you know."
I rapidly shook my head and blurted out,"No! I mean it's just a surprise to see you...Wait a minute-" I checked out his face and grinned when I saw the smirk playing on his lips. "You bastard. You haven't changed at all have you."
He cocked his head and playfully said,"Well, actually I-"
"Oh just shut up and hug me."
He smiled and scooped me up in his arms. I smiled and hugged him tighter.
"Your still the midget I knew aren't you. Hmm this is nice," he murmured in my hair. I smacked his arm and replied back saying,"I have grown! I'm 5'7 you know. I was 5'5 the last time you saw me."
"And still your a midget." We let go of each other and he playfully ruffled my hair. I growled at him and he pulled his hand away.
"Easy tiger. So, anyway how you've been? It's been quite awhile that I've seen you. How long has it been? Two years now, maybe less." He whistled in astonishment.
I smiled. "Life is...good I guess. Some unexpected events have happened, but nothing out of the ordinary." I lied. And I hated it since even though we haven't seen each other in like two years or so I could still feel the bond between us and I always hated lying to him since he was one of my closest friends. And right now I hoped he couldn't see the lie printed plainly on my face.
Matt nodded. "Good." I guess he ignored the lie I made.
"But the question is why are you here? Weren't you living with your dad in Chicago? What happened?"
He darkly smirked. "What a screwed situation that was. Well I was, but me and my dad weren't really...connecting so much so he left me live with my aunt here since my mom didn't want me, and me either. So, yeah I'm transfering here. My aunt is just signing some papers inside and then it will be a done deal. That's something ain't it?"
"Yeah. Your aunt always been a caring person so that's a reassurance that it will be alright with you and her. So your dad is still in Chicago, right?"
"Yeah. I moved in with my aunt two weeks ago. Oh hey are the others guys here? Ruby, Seth, and Jodie? What people they are! Fun times...," he murmured.
I chuckled. "Yeah, they are quite something. Ruby is making me go to the school's Halloween party this Sunday. She's unbelievable, I tell you." He threw back his head and laughed freely about it as I made a face.
The Princiapal's Office door creaked open and out came Matt's aunt. I smiled up at her. She stayed dead quiet for a long second until a smile bloomed from her face making crinkles appear on the edge of her eyes. She was still the same as I remembered with the same messed up ponytail that included strands of blonde hair poking out from, still fit at the age of...39, I guess, and just her welcoming, real self. It was like fresh air to me to see someone that I've known since I could walk.
"Arielle? This is such a wonderful surprise! What are you doing here? Oh, wait you live here with your mother and little sister! My bad. Guess what? Matt is going to this school with you!," she squealed.
I laughed and said,"Hi Mrs.Elle. And yes I heard from Matt here! That's really great!," I happily said.
She clapped her hands. "Fantastic! Well, we have to go now and I hope I'll see you around, Arielle! It's really nice to see you again and your beautiful darling."
We hugged and she led her way out, but Matt lingered behind. I smiled and said,"It was really nice seeing you again, Matt. So, I'll see you tomorrow then?"
"Definitley. Tomorrow is Tuesday, right? Oh, thanks. Can I have your number so we can catch up later on?," he said.
"Yeah! Duh!" He smiled and we both grabbed our phones and typed in each other's number. I put mine away and hugged him again.
"This was really nice, Arielle. I'll see you later then," he murmured in my hair. I closed me eyes and hugged him tighter.
"Ow! I think I just broke a rib. Dammit man! Arielle, you owe me here."
I laughed and pushed him away. "Go now before you end in an "accident"!"
Matt sadly shook his head and his tone reflected his mood, saying,"Thought we were close, Arielle. I can't believe I've been living a lie. This is unbearable."
I crossed my arms and said,"I'm kidding you know."
He laughed. "Yeah I know. Bye now, Arielle. See you later." He waved and turned around a corner out of my sight.
I smiled. God, have I missed that guy, I thought. I laughed happily and turned around. The flier for the Halloween party at school popped out at me.
My smile slipped into a frown and I groaned.
"Why me?" I said outloud.
I snatched one of the fliers and headed to class. Well, the last 10 minutes of class. Oops. I laughed and then groaned as I looked down at the flier clenched in my hand.
I stomped off to class.
