I know, I know. Gravity Falls isn't an anime, but a cartoon. I just wanted to try this out since I've been nostalgic about this show..... I miss it that much, okay?

Even if I watched Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero lately (That show is so underrated, I swear), I'm still rewatching Gravity Falls through video downloads in my tablet.

Anyway, I hope you at least try to enjoy this because this is the work of a bored and nostalgic girl, who only wanted Gravity Falls to last and for PZPTH to actually get out of it's underrated level.

Also, at this point, I won't mention any specific age aside from one memory here, where all three of them were 12 years old that time.

Warning: Kinda long for a one-shot

************************

It was a snow day in the peaceful town of Gravity Falls-

Well, as peaceful as it can get.

A lot has happened in this quaint and old town ever since the well-known Pine twins arrived. I've always witnessed the mishaps that occurred in the streets or the events involving it.

Like the time I took a leisurely stroll around the Mystery Shack when my parents came to buy something for my cousin as a memoir before he leaves to go back to California. He only came for a five-day stay due to his parents sending him here, it only backfired because he caused a tantrum.

I was walking by when I saw a golf cart on its side, dents apparent on the white vehicle and the top weirdly bent in. My eyes swept over to see the Pine twins, seeming as if they had just been chased in the forest with all the leaves stuck in their messed-up hair.

I immediately hid in the bushes as soon as my eyes landed on the red, enormous gnome-monster-thing. After I saw the twins beat the gnomes with a leafblower, I quietly went back to my parents with an astonished look on my face. That was how I knew the Pine twins.

Enough about that. I did say something about a snow day, right?

It's December and the town has been in a ruckus preparing for Christmas. People were out to go Christmas shopping, some were heading to the diner for some hearty and warm breakfast while the children were playing in the snow and basking at the white-coated grounds.

Speaking of people, the whole town's in hushed whispers and small talk was going around about the Pine twins' return here.

Men and women who encountered or knew the twins were either excited, annoyed or indifferent about this. The twins had made a huge difference to this very town in Oregon and were marked as the Mystery Twins due to what they've done here.

Mostly about the mysterious and supernatural occurrences here.

While people were enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and the snow, I cooped myself up in the town library. The library smelled of new and old books and it was quite warm in here.

A scarf adorned my neck, covering my mouth, as I read a book revolving around the town and its conspiracies.

Don't even ask how I got this. All I know is that I found it in the darkest corners of the library and read it, the book flat on its cover to hide it from anyone else's view. The crisp paper being flipped rang in my ears as the smell of an old book lingered in the air and entered my nose, luring me in to read more of it.

The librarian didn't mind me much since people scarcely came to this old establishment. She was one of those indifferent librarians who kill time by either filing their nails, stamping the books on their counter, or reading a book.

I flipped to the next one and chuckled at a page that reminded me of one of the twins' findings. It was a page of Nathaniel Northwest, the false founder of Gravity Falls and the so-called fake.

I remember how Dipper ran up to Pacifica, who's in her black limo with her parents. He gave it to her through her rolled-down tinted window and the car drove off, as it did, Pacifica's face popped out of the window with disbelief clear on it before she popped back in.

I was a few feet away from Pacifica's car by coincidence when that happened, and I always laugh at the memory. The expression she had was priceless, also the discovery that her whole family is a fraud.

"Hi, I'm Mabel! What's your name?" I jumped and hastily covered the book with my scarf. I looked up to see Mabel Pines sitting across me, her braces showing off with the smile gave me.

"Uh... Hi? My name's _______..." I quietly answered her, her smile still intact and the sweater she wore as bright as her personality. The sweater is red at the top and green at the bottom, a stitching of Santa Claus in the middle of it, and a bunch of glitter covering the whole thing.

"So, watcha reading there? Is it something cool?!" Her eyes sparkled as she tried to see what the book was about. I held in a smile as I pulled my scarf down a bit to speak again.

"Well... It's-"

"Mabel! I can't find the book in he-" Mabel and I looked behind her to see her twin brother, Dipper Pines. His mouth formed an o and he began to fidget and get nervous.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry. Did she bother you? We're about to go so-"

"Nah, it's fine." I gave the both of them a small smile as I lifted the scarf up and closed the book. "By any chance, are you looking for this book?" I lifted the book up to him as Mabel got out of the chair and went beside her brother to look at the cover closely.

Dipper's eyes widened in response and his mouth opened to reply, but his sister beat him to it. "Conspiracies and Theories of Gravity Falls?!" He clamped his sister's mouth shut, the words coming out of it muffled and not understandable.

He suddenly grimaced and removed his hand from his sister's mouth, lips in a huge grin. "Ew, did you just lick my hand?"

"Yup!" Dipper wiped the saliva off of his hand with his vest, his face flushed in embarrassment when he heard me chuckle. I fixed my scarf before asking again, "Is this the book?"

I tilted my head to the side in curiosity as he nervously laughed and said yes to my question. "Here you go. I enjoyed reading it so I think you might enjoy it too." I casually handed it over to him, eyes a bit wide as he took it with shaking hands.

"A-ah, thanks."

"What's your name?" I pretended to be ignorant about his popularity and status in Gravity Falls. Before he could reply, Mabel beat him to it again.

"His name's Dipper! Sorry about my dorky brother." Mabel leaned down to whisper in my ear, but Dipper heard it anyway. "He's not good with girls." She giggled.

"Hey, I'm not! I mean, uh-" He opted to groan in misery as he tipped his cap down to cover his blush.

"Dipper, this is _______. _______, Dipper." Mabel introduced me to him, face still pink from embarrassment. I waved at him and decided to invite them for breakfast.

"Hey, you guys wanna go to the diner with me? I was planning on getting breakfast there."

I turned to Mabel with a smile. "I'll pay for it, and you can order pancakes if you like." Knowing how expensive the pancakes can be, Mabel's grin became wider if possible and she hugged me tight.

"Really?! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She let go and tugged on Dipper's arm. "C'mon Dipper! Pancakes are waiting for us!" She laughed and dragged him away as I followed behind them.

"H-hey, wait! I need to get this checked to the librarian!" He argued, still being dragged down the hall by his hyperactive sister.

"She's fine with it." I shrugged and waved bye to the nonchalant librarian. She returned it and went back to reading her magazine.

As soon as we were out, the cold breeze greeted us. I shivered as the breeze kissed my cheeks and I fixed my scarf up again.

"Let's go, let's go, let's go!" Mabel chirped, dancing on the snow-filled concrete and skipping on her way to the diner.

"You know, you don't need to be nervous around me. I don't bite." I told Dipper, the both of us walking down the steps and catching up to a cheerful Mabel. Dipper could only give me a weak smile then looked down at the book in his hands.

He suddenly asked me a question. "How did you find this?"

"Well," I clicked my tongue and thought of earlier. "I was looking for a book to read when I found that by coincidence."

He began to ask me a series of questions, ones about my preferences and ones about my interest in mysteries, and I ask him back as if we were playing 21 Questions. It turns out that we like the same things; mysteries, the secrets Gravity Falls held, solving problems and cases, and a few more.

"Hey lovebirds! We're here already!"

Mabel yelled from afar making people look in our direction. Some chuckled, some sighed in nostalgia and bliss while some laughed at how Mabel just yelled that in the middle of the street.

Dipper's face became red while I lifted my scarf up to my cheeks, hiding the scarlet tint running across my nose. "I-I should go in first. I'll order for us while you two find seats. Anything you want?"

"Pa-pancakes would be fine, thanks." And with that, I trudged through the snowy grounds and told Mabel that too. She nodded with a grin and ran up to her twin. I entered the door with a sigh, embarrassed as I remembered what Mabel did and how my heart threatened to burst out of my chest when I'm around Dipper.

I think I fell for the adorable dork all over again.

Meanwhile

"Somebody's in loooooove~!" Mabel sang as she ran up to Dipper. The brunette gave his sister a small glare and quickly clamped her mouth shut again.

"God, Mabel. If you do that again I'll-"

She took his hand away from her mouth then began to yell out loud. "Dipper has a crush on-!"

"Alright, alright! I admit! I kinda like her." Dipper murmured, loud enough for only Mabel to hear, and clutched the book to his chest with a small smile, a blush coating his cheeks again.

Mabel laughed and dragged him to the diner with a skip in her step. "Don't let the girl of your dreams wait then, bro-bro!"

"Mabel!"

*******************

Okaaaaaaay, not as fluffy as I imagined but come on. They just met and I can't escalate it that quickly!

I may or may not have made them in character. I'm too paranoid because I missed a lot of episodes and just stuck to their personalities during the first season.

Anyway, this is made out of my boredom and I just missed the cold here. It's summer and hot as hell right now.

Sorry for any errors found in this one-shot and possible OOC Dipper and Mabel Pines.

Bye~
